Best BBQ in Austin. I’ve been to Terry Black’s and I prefer Pokey Jo’s every time. The brisket is emmacilaty moist. The turkey is juicy and full of flavor. The jalepeno cheddar sausage is also worth getting. Their sauce is served hot and is really good even for someone who doesn’t like BBQ sauce. Ive worked in the BBQ industry for 3yrs and this place is my favorite.

This was the best bbq we had in austin! The brisket was so moist and tasty! Potato salad was perfect and the fried okra was great! We also got the regular sausage which was so tasty and their limited time burnt ends were awesome

Great BBQ spot. Friendly people and nice clean atmosphere. Brisket was very soft, jalapeño cheese sausage was really smooth, and tasty ribs were soft and smokey.

Hadn't been here in years but was it worth it! The meat was flavorful and abundant, brisket, sausage, and chopped beef. And the line folks were so friendly! Honestly .. it felt like the service of old Austin. Half of them are musicians and the other half lovers of music, they even noticed the wonderful Jackie Venson T-shirt o was wearing (an incredible Austin born and raised female guitarist with skills that will blow your mind!!!) it was like walking into my family home for dinner! And there was so much food we are making two meals out of one three meat plate! Oh....and the pickles?!? Holy cow..so good!

Stopped in for a quick barbecue meal near the hotel. Had a wonderful dining experience, and was made to feel very welcomed by the staff, and especially Robert. Highly recommend, enjoyed the barbecue, we'll come back!

Food was good, but not exceptional. However, it’s the people here that make this place so good. From the moment I stepped in, all the staff was super friendly and doing way beyond a typical BBQ spot. They offered me a sample of all cuts and free drinks!

They are so nice! If the BBQ was better, this would have been one of my favourite spots.

Just passing through on the highway, saw the BBQ sign and interesting name.
so we stopped in.
Wow, what a nice surprise find.

Delicious food, Peach habanero BBQ sauce 😋
I am a fan for life.
I can't wait to find myself back in this area to try it again.

I'm from Idaho, so whenever I am in Austin I try to eat BBQ. This was my first time to eat here. I told that to the guy at the counter and he gave my friend and I a great sample plate of 5 or 6 different meats.
We both chose the 2-meat plate. Comes with 2 sides. My friend got corn and baked beans. I chose corn and a drink, both with ribs and brisket. All excellent! Except, my friend said the beans were "meh".
I'll definitely go back the next time I am in Austin!

Pok-E-Jo's has been, and still is, my go-to spot for BBQ when I'm at the office. It's definitely great to be back to the restaurant after all these months of working from home. For this visit, I ordered 2-meat combo with brisket and pork ribs. The brisket is absolutely delicious (Soft and tender) and their pork ribs are also fabulous with meats falling off the bone easily. In addition, the spicy BBQ sauce that offers also go nicely with the meats. Oh, and for the two sides, I went for potato salad and broccoli; very delicious and also go well with the brisket and ribs. Overall, a great place for BBQ.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. My 15 yr old son is special and it it obvious in how he interacts with the world. The employees there were so patient and kind with him and now it is his favorite place after 1 visit, the banana pudding is also excellent.

Not exaggerating, the best brisket I've ever had. I've gone back twice this week to make sure it wasn't a fluke, and it definitely was not! Incredible customer service and friendly staff, can't wait to return.

Hadn't been to Pok e Jo's in a minute! I was pleasantly surprised...

Ordered the two meat plate with brisket and pork ribs. Three pork ribs and while he was slicing I asked for burnt ends for the brisket. The ribs were tender and flavorful and the brisket was perfectly charred on the outside and moist & tender inside. I thought I was in BBQ heaven.

For sides I chose the delicious Jalapeno Cornbread casserole (for the first time) and the Broccoli Cheese (very cheesy and not overcooked).

The serving was so large I actually had to bring some home.
😋 More for a snack later

Arrived at Pok-E-Jos for lunch at 12.10 on a Tues. ordered immediately - 2 meat plate (13 bucks) and sweet tea (2.50) - Demetrio measured out 1.28 lbs of moist brisket and pork ribs. For vegetables, i chose potato salad and beans - although there were several more to choose from, including some healthy looking stuff. The sweet tea was ok - not too sweet. I added a little salt to the flavorful beans - which had a nice spicy taste. The potato salad was excellent - yellow potato salad with added large sections of red potatos with skin and red onion chunks. The brisket was exceptional - very tender and thick - the ribs were awesome (my compadre declared they were the best he had ever eaten) - they were spicy and did not need sauce - i thoroughly enjoyed the bbq sauce - sweet, tangy, spicy - i also had a couple of pieces of wheat bread to go with it, although white grilled toast was also available. I rated this 5 stars because of the peerless flavor and taste. Honestly, i would prefer a little larger portion :-). But for taste - absolutely 5 stars

The food is good, whenever we don't wanna drive to County Line or wait hours at Terry's or Black's then this is our next best option, love their food and their service, plus their prices are reasonable.

Pok-e-Jo's! Where have you been the past two years I've lived in ATX? This spot is a no frills, legit bbq joint. They're not featured on Eater or promoted by your favorite influencer, but man do they make incredible food.

What takes this Pok-e-Jo's over the top is the BEST hospitality I've ever experienced. I'm not joking. I mentioned in passing it's my first time here, and Dee (without hesitation) said "well you need samples." He let me try almost every item. I loved how passionate he was about the food and the care he gave me. Just wow!

On top of that, Robert, who was in charge of the sides was equally as pleasant. He insisted to give me a sample of their famous chocolate pudding–– I can see why it's famous. It was incredible!

Shout out to Dee and Robert. You two are amazing. Pok-e-Jos is now on my roster of places I frequent. What a GEM!

I've eaten here before but this was the first time using their website for carry out. The ordering process was very user friendly.
The one thing I dread about take out is the drive home. If the food isn't packed right, you end up with a big mess. Lucky, this location did a great job.
The brisket was tender and the sausage was not dry.
We love the broccoli salad as well as their potato salad and cole slaw.
The family pack is a great value and they provide all the condiments you need to complete the meal.

Walked in for lunch and we are always greeted by a Super Nice, Friendly, and Funny Young Man behind the counter where you order... Can't EVER go wrong with the MEAT STUFFED BAKED POTATO and a Side of you name it. Usually Mac & Cheese for me, then a Large Sweet Tea... Made and served right then and you sit where ever you want... Great Place with Friendly People... Its a regular place for us for lunch...

Did my boyfriend's birthday party here. No hassle when it came to making the reservation (& it was free), great food and great customer service (they even put the much anticipated soccer game on the television in the party room). I don't have any complaints when it comes to the execution of that Sunday lunch. Sooo thanks Pok-E-Jo's for helping make this day a special one for him! We had a great time!
