Duck Creek Pancake House

We had a great experience at Duck Creek Pancake House. Our server was a very friendly and attentive young man. He genuinely seemed to enjoy his job and was great at it! Our breakfast was ready super fast and everything about it was delicious and perfectly prepared.

I have continued an effort to eat out for breakfast around the Quad Cities, especially at all of the places that describe themselves as a "Pancake House" in part of their name. Duck Creek Pancake House is yet another location that is on one of the possible routes from my home to my place of employment that I've driven by countless times. This morning, I decided it was time to experience my morning meal at their establishment.

Honestly, if not for Google maps, I don't know that I'd ever come here except if advised by multiple other people. The building and sign are old - once side of the building has what appears to be a long ago addition with beige/brown painted wood siding while the facade facing the street consists primarily of slightly darker color brick. The sign is faded and barely noticeable. Without the larger sign that simply says "restaurant" on the wood side of the building, I probably wouldn't have noticed this place at all.

The interior fixtures and furniture starkly contrast the exterior appearances. Newer snap together wood panel flooring is present throughout, clean and new tables fill the large space, and the drop ceiling with fluorescent light fixtures appears noticeably clean and new, as well. Between these clean features and the various framed photos of nature and wildlife, the place is clearly a breakfast joint.

Since the place was packed this morning and I didn't want to take up a whole table myself, I opted to sit in the back at the counter near the kitchen. I've come to enjoy doing this at breakfast places - you get to see the guys in the kitchen making food and it's otherwise a high traffic area with all the servers coming by to pick up food or return dishes. A nice, manageable amount of excitement to my morning, indeed.

I opted for what I prefer at so many other breakfast nooks - a skillet. This time, I opted for a bacon skillet which contained chopped up pieces of bacon throughout atop the pile of hash browns. I REALLY liked this skillet. The hash browns consisted of a nice mix of crispy and not crispy potatoes, the bacon chunks added further crispy texture, and the cheddar cheese added some additional needed fatty depth to everything, all while providing some additional structure. The scrambled eggs were also on point and tasted great with the sourdough toast. Would definitely get this skillet again.

Between the friendly staff, the great food, and the clean wholesome space, I'm looking forward to coming back here again. It's worth the trip here to get some breakfast, even if it's a little out of the way. Thanks Duck Creek Pancake House!

Don’t drive by. The outside of this diner doesn’t do it any justice. The restaurant is clean and bright on the inside. We weren’t expecting that. My husband had breakfast for lunch and I had the Cheese Burger that was hand patted.
Not disappointed the food was fresh and hot.
The service was fast.
The taste was what we expected.
We will stop again.

Great breakfast/lunch spot! Don't drive past this local hole-in-the-wall...you will not be disappointed, and it won't break your bank either!

I love these small mom and pop type places. The servers were ao friendly and playful with the kiddo.

Simple diner, great food, professional waitress. I had the breakfast combo with pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and eggs. I Loved the biscuits and gravy! Gravy was smooth, seasoned just right, and the biscuits were excellent. We went around brunch time, so it wasn't busy at all.

Found this place nlt too far from our hotel . The waitress was very nice and super friendly. Food came out quickly also .
Nothing superb but everything was good and cooked properly .

This is my go to breakfast spot. The staff is smiling every day and they are one of the very few places that you can get a quality breakfast for a great price. Not to mention their great serving sizes.

Amazing! We’re from Michigan and it was well worth the drive!! We didn’t drive here specifically for duck creek, but I’m glad we did eat here!!! The food, the staff, and the atmosphere were exceedingly excellent!!!

This is a classic, local spot. I have come to the QC in 2022 and 2023. I have dined at this location both times, multiple times during my stay. We had the same waitress and she is just the besttttt. The food is delicious and the prices are unbeatable. It's old school, but I love a straight to the point classic breakfast menu.

My in laws go here quite a bit and while in town we joined them. Amazing small town dinner feel with incredible service. This is one of only 3 times, I remember, I wish I could give more than 5 stars for service. Truly above and beyond anything expected. We had the owners son, missed his name unfortunately and I feel bad for that, and he was everything you wished to have as a waiter. Food was very good, fast getting to us, and the right food all the way around the group. 10/10 will be back here more than once.

Friendly wait staff, good cakes and breakfast foods!! They also have a lunch menu. Very good!

Stopped for breakfast on our way home. Atmosphere was family orientated, a very welcoming feeling. The food was good and our waiter was excellent. 💕 More than likely we will come again.

Duck Creek Pancake House in Riverdale Iowa is a true gem of a restaurant! The moment you step in, you'll be welcomed by the friendly staff and the warm, cozy atmosphere. The menu has a wide variety of breakfast options to choose from, and everything I ordered was absolutely delicious.

The pancakes were fluffy and cooked to perfection, and the syrup and butter added just the right amount of sweetness. The coffee was also excellent, and the server kept refilling my cup throughout the meal.

The prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous, so I left feeling satisfied and full. The staff was attentive and made sure that everything was just right.

Overall, I highly recommend Duck Creek Pancake House to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast or brunch. It's definitely worth the trip to Riverdale Iowa. Five stars all around!

Have been to Duck Creek Pancake House about 12 times. Food tastes great and the variety is huge from omelettes to griddles to pancakes and French toast. It is only open until 2pm. However, it is usually packed. Service is fast and hospitable as is the owner who greets customers and helps staff out. I have started making this restaurant a Saturday morning tradition. Decor is plain but food is above average.
