Definitely an upfront & trustworthy mechanic to take your vehicle to if you’re having problems with it. Had him fix my car in the past & do inspections on my car if I couldn’t diagnose it myself. Always does a good job. Even if he doesn’t fix your car cause you’re able to do the job yourself he gives you an honest inspection at a good price. Will choose this shop over any other one around town!

As a single mom and not knowing where to go and who to trust with maintenance with my car and having that anxiety about walking into an unknown shop worrying about how the experience is going to go when I talked to the owner he was upfront and honest from the start I definitely recommend absolute automotive service in coal city he was calm an explained and test drove my car so he could feel and see what was going on for him self he is most definitely a 10 out of 10 for me but unfortunately they don’t have 10 stars on here they only have 5 but he is good people and good mechanics are hard to find nowadays! I’ll definitely be returning and recommending to anyone who needs maintenance

My family and I were on a road trip and pulled off into Coal City to grab lunch. That's when we noticed a strange sound coming from our car. Uh oh. That's not good when we are hundreds of miles from home with the two kids.

I found Absolute Automotive on Google Maps and took the car in. Jim was so nice and was able to fix our car's issue in roughly the time it took us to eat lunch. We were back on the road and the car was running great again. Jim really saved us. Thanks, Jim!

What none of these reviews tell you is Jim is a busy guy and handling all these jobs HIMSELF. I asked for an oil change and he said “Next week.” I was like for an oil change?! And we got to talking how busy he is for a mechanic flying solo. He is being incredibly gracious and taking my car as we speak even though he’s booked solid! Hopefully if you’re reading this you know someone who needs a job doing oil changes. Jim needs help but he’s certainly earned my business!

I come from a family of auto mechanics. Unfortunately, they live in another state. Finding a good, honest mechanic is really difficult. Many take advantage of your ignorance to overcharge.

My daughter found Absolute Automotive in Coal City. I needed a brake job. Jim, the owner, did a fantastic job and charged a fair price.

I recently experienced the dreaded "Check Engine" light phenomenon and took my car to Absolute. The diagnostics were inconclusive. Jim conducted a couple of weeks of research into finding the cause of the phantom light. In the end, he replaced the intake manifold gasket and mass air flow sensor. Again, the cost was more than fair.

My car, which has 165,000 miles on it is running like its brand new. This is a business you can trust to solve your automotive issues.

I had an oil leak on the front passenger side of my Equinox. I was able to get my car checked over quickly. I would have had to wait a week elsewhere in town. They found no active oil leak after running it for 45 minutes. Most likely a crankshaft valve is leaking oil slowly and so I will have to bring back in a couple of days to continue proper diagnosis and eventually get fixed. He also gave me a fair quote on what the cost might be for such a repair. The owner didn’t charge me to do any of the diagnosis. I greatly appreciate his honesty, attention to detail, and for great customer service. I have found a great mechanic and would recommend his services to anyone.

Absolutely amazing, the owner, Jimmy, is smart and kind and very patient and the only mechanic I trust to be honest these days, also he does himself a favor by being so good lookin and charming!!

Great service here. The mechanic communicated clearly what my issue was and how much time it should take to fix my vehicle and he even got it done sooner. I will be returning next time I have an issue with my vehicle.

Probably the most enjoyable oil change experience I’ve had yet. The man is a humorist, and very creative to say the least. Taught me a lot about my car in the little time I was there. I definitely recommend this place for service.
