What a great place. Service was nice and friendly. Food was hot and delicious. Love the look of the room!

Excellent food! My husband and I stopped in for dinner during our anniversary trip. I love all things "Titanic" and this reminded me of that. The atmosphere feels like an Irish style pub. The tall booths make conversation easy and private. The food was amazing! We tried German pickled and beet eggs; they were great! The Spaetzle was fresh and my husband enjoyed his fish. Super crunchy! We also enjoyed a Scotch egg. The root beer was also tasty. Overall good experience. Service could have been a little better; our waitress only came by once and never refilled our drinks. Food was worth the visit, though.

We have been to the Steerage many times! The food is top notch! The fish is maybe my favorite fish fry ever! The service is unmatched! Always kind, fast, and friendly! The atmosphere is just so cool as well! Definitely recommend!

From the moment you descend the stairs, you feel like you are in another time and another world. Our food was delicious! The fish was hot and cooked perfectly. The steak fries came out piping hot and crispy. Our waitress was phenomenal! She kept apologizing for our wait (which we didn’t feel was that bad). We ordered Janet’s Carrot Cake for dessert and when the waitress brought it she said it was on the house. This gem in Port Washington is something you can’t miss.

Very good atmosphere. The food was delicious. The drinks were somewhat okay as the cocktail I ordered had a very little amount of alcohol :)

Very good place for dinner! I ordered the clam chowder and pilgrim. I would highly recommend both of them. My waiter was extremely responsive, refilled our drinks very often. The food came out fast and was delicious. It has a theme of the third class sailors aboard, and they did a great job of decorating it.

If you enjoy anything nautical this is your place. Or if you enjoy great food and beverages, this is also your place! I had a tasty Cranberries and Cream cocktail that was absolutely delicious and served in a fancy little glass. Our food was also great! I got the Mrs. Pickett (If you love cheese, this is for you!) and my boyfriend got the Fenwick, which he really enjoyed, especially with the Sheboygan hard rolls. So tasty! Service was great and the atmosphere is cozy and rustic. Highly recommend

We had a chance to sample some food from Big Baby Subs at the Brew and Chew. The subs were amazing! We ended up ordering pickup the next day- delicious! We will 1,000% be back. Quality ingredients and great service. We are looking forward to eating at The Steerage next.

My husband and I visited The Steerage Dining Saloon for the first time early this fall. My father was a chef for his entire working life and I fancy myself a good judge of excellence because of all my dad taught me.

I was completely impressed with the Steerage Dining Saloon. The welcome and service throughout our visit were top-notch. The atmosphere was so great. And the food...I'm not sure I can do it justice in my review.

Suffice it to say I had the BEST Pork Chop I've ever eaten. The House Potatoes were incredible as well. We had Carrot Cake for dessert, which was offered with a portion of proceeds going towards a great cause.

We loved our meal SO much that we purchased an exact duplicate of it to-go, so we could enjoy it again the next day. That should say it all. :-)

We even got to meet Michael so we could tell him, in person, how much we loved our visit. We travel through the area frequently so we'll definitely be back.

Thanks to Michael and the whole crew at The Steerage Dining Saloon for bringing something incredibly special to Port Washington.

Excellent food, friendly and attentive staff, good pricing, awesome atmosphere. Would highly reccomend anyone visiting or local to stop in!

Visiting from out of town the entrance to the pub (as shown in the photo) is small, but do not miss it! Walking downstairs into a authentic euro style pub with pleasant music and perfect lighting is just the start to a fantastic evening.
Greeted right away with a smiling bartender happy to get us seated and served. House made Irish cream liquor is a must have by the way. Had several drinks with my wife along with unique and fantastic foods.
Scotch eggs to die for, clam chower that is different in the most delightful way, turkey dinner sandwich, and fries.
All the food was served promptly, served hot, and was delicious.
Finishing with the bittersweet chocolate pudding is the best choice anyone can make. No words can describe, just go get some.
I only wish I lived closer to stop here more often.

Michael, the owner, was extremely pleasant and inviting while making sure all was right. Clearly gets along with the staff and he helps make the whole experience feel like the pub you have been going to for years. 5 stars (plus if I could ) for a wonderful establishment.

Ladies and gentlemen this place is fascinating. It's well designed inside so to appear like you're under a boat. There's little dug outs (seating) you can pick something that fits your mood. Kinda like an underground speak easy. EXTRA clean. It's all very well lit. They have hooks under the bar for a bag. And, the menu is well done and very thoughtful, it changes daily. Clam chowder was very good, lots of clam. Swedish meatballs were interesting didn't like at first, then, I ate them all, they grew on me. The large cut steak fries were on point.

Taking several steps down (does not appear to be handicapped accessible) you feel like you are entering another world. Dark wood and rustic walls create an intimate quiet atmosphere. We ordered the panko cod and the Mrs. Pickett sandwich with an upgrade to a bowl of New England clam Chowder.
All was absolutely delicious! Fish was crisp outside and moist inside. The sandwich was packed with just the right amount of flavor... perfect. Clam Chowder was loaded with clams. We would definitely come back!

Felt like we had just stepped into a speakeasy by the entrance and were greated with Irish style decore downstairs that was an awesome experience to share with friends. The food was perfect and we sampled a few items. Looking for an epic date night or great times with friends go here. Breath of fresh air in my opinion for Downtown Port.

Great hidden gem in Port Washington. The wait staff was excellent and very knowledgeable about items on the menu. Food was absolutely amazing. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.

I cannot say how much we enjoy this place. The food, the atmosphere and the staff are amazing. We have never had a bad meal. Set in the style of 3rd Class Passenger accommodations. A hidden gem in downtown Port Washington. Tucked in a basement. A must try on any occasion.

The Steerage Dining Saloon in Port is exceptional! The first time, I ordered their amazing Cioppino - wonderful sweet chunks of cod, shrimp, mussels with perfectly cooked bell pepper and onion in this most spectacular tomatoey, perfectly spicy broth!! Add delicious garlic toast to sop up that wonderful broth, wow! My sweetie ordered The Fenwick sandwich and loved it! He insisted I try it - normally I don't care for lots of layers of meat. But, the Dearborn ham on this wonderful sandwich is just spectacular - so tender, mouth watering, slightly salty meat with grilled red onion, havarti cheese, wonderful mustard sauce in a delicious, thin, crispy roll - superb! Excellent coleslaw - crispy cabbage and carrots in a wonderful light sauce! Since then, our relatives and I have tried more sandwiches: The Pilgrim, the breakfast LOP and Mrs. Picket - Also spectacular! I also enjoyed their Paprikash - wow, tender chicken, vegetables, wonderful spices over perfectly done noodles! Don't forget the homemade bittersweet chocolate pudding - so delicious, you may not want to share, lol! Also loved the decor and excellent customer service!

Really was surprised with how cool the location was. Down a few stairwells is a great restaurant and bar. The staff couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. The phrase hidden gem gets thrown around quite a bit but this place deserves it. Great place for a fish fry or to watch a game.

Always a great experience. Love their soups, specials and cocktails. This is our favorite date night spot in port Washington.
