Brought my wife to the emergency room on Tuesday brought her home Sunday. In all my life I've never seen a person get a hug and words of encouragement from so many nurses and doctors. These folks don't wear capes, jump over building or are faster than a speeding bullet. But in my view these people are superheroes. Almost every nurse I met, gave my wife a hug. One in particular
. went above and beyond in showing her kindness. The compassion and love that was given to my wife, from ER to being wheeled out to the car was incredible. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff. Thank you.

We were just there for 2.5 days with my 18 month old while he battled the worst of his RSV. The PEDS staff were wonderful and very attentative. They saved my sons life and I am forever grateful for them. My minor issues were there was no in room shower (at least not our room 🤷‍♀), and the food wasn't very good lol. Other than that, it was good.

My Dad spent 2 days in the CCU, following respiratory arrest, that led to cardiac arrest, leaving him on a ventilator, with brain damage, and internal bleeding. The prognosis was very poor, and we did end up making the choice, as a family, to take my Dad off the ventilator and let him be at peace. I cannot put into words how much the kindness and compassion of the doctors and nurses meant to us. We felt like our Dad got taken good care of, and like we were leaving him in good hands. We were treated like a concerned and grieving family, and there was always a doctor or nurse willing to answer our questions for the 10th time, or taking their time to help us understand what our Dad was going through. The doctor helped us feel confident and secure, with compassion understanding, that we were making the right choice for our Dad. My Dad was a beautiful person and very loved. All of us being able to be there, all of his children's hands on his heart as he took his last breath is a memory I'll never forget. And the compassionate doctors and nurses made that happen. Thank you. I do have to say, Deb Johnson RN BSN MBA AVP love and respect chief experience officer did everything she could to disrespect us, treat our family coldly and with no compassion, and make what we were going through even more difficult and painful. Someone at Spectrum needs to look into her position there and give her some training in compassion in end of life situations. Overall, I'm thankful my Dad had the team he did, may God bless you guys and keep you showing kindness, compassion, and good care to your other patients and their families.

I don’t typically review anyone negatively. But, If you can go somewhere else, I would. Certain departments are ran professionally, others are not.
My wife was in the ER last night with a ruptured eardrum. The Nurse prescribed antibiotics (good on them) then the Doctor came in and said that wasn’t necessary and sent her home with nothing (thanks Doctor) fast forward a few hours and shes riving in pain and can hardly stand. She gets an appointment with our amily doctor where he finds a massive abscess on her ear drum. He said the doctor she saw last night had to be blind or just not care.
Like I said before, they have some MD’s that care. And some that don’t. Hopefully you have a better experience than we had last night.

I have been dealing with quarrenteen recently in a Nursing Home, and the nurse at Lakeland ( Elia) was the best! going out of her way to make this situation as good as possible. I need to get that out, it's easy to complain about the restrictions but I don't want to pass up the chance to say Thanks! the little things make a big difference.

The experience was none professional. The Surgery was so lazy he calls the front desks, instead of updating you in person. They did not have a name tag on the client. Very unsanitary detailing with Patients. They do not operate with the spirit of excellence. Very lazy And lethargic. I would not recommend this place.

Having a severe breathing issue, possibly double pneumonia and have been stuck in the waiting room for almost 5 hours and counting! I hope someone picks me up when I pass out from lack of oxygen.

Justice for cemmi no one deserves to be treated like this
This is the post from her Facebook

I will never again trust St Joseph Lakeland hospital for anything. Before I went in I had 30% hearing in my left ear and 10% in my right, (estimated from my last audiologist appointment in Kzoo) I was medically considered hard of hearing

now I have less than 10% hearing in both almost none (completely deaf) due to a traumatic head injury from staff shoving me onto the ground and holding me down. (Injured nerves in ear and busted eardrums from impact) I am now considered completely deaf.
My eye is infected from having my head bashed against the toilet because the tech was angry that I was throwing up and crying- she shoved my head into the toilet rim and grabbed my face and yelled at me. She got even more mad when I didn’t react. They then picked me up, moved me to a bed. Restrained me and sedated me against my will.

I was given no accommodations for my hearing loss: no one would use ASL or give me an interpreter.

They just screamed at me.

They refused to let me see an eye doctor. If I didn’t get forcedfully taken out I could’ve gone blind. I may never hear again. I will tell people to boycott Lakeland until I they are reprimanded for the abuse they did to me.
My last night I was held down onto the bed by three people and sedated with a zyprexa shot and a Benadryl shot- I didn’t consent. Why did they do that? Because I was crying and throwing up in the bathroom BECAUSE THEY WITHHELD ALL MY MEDICATIONS AND WOULDNT LET ME TALK TO MY FAMILY.

Do not go to Lakeland in st Joe for behavioral health. The staff are abusive. They isolate you from loved ones. They severely limit water and food intake. I wasn’t allowed food the whole time I was there. Another patient got in trouble for giving me her apple.
Literally go anywhere else. Do your research. Don’t go to St Joseph Lakeland hospital behavioral unit.

I will never trust any one or thing related or assosciated with Lakeland or Corewell health.

Lakeland, and Corewell- do better. I will be going after you and your staff for the harm you did to me and the trauma you gave to me. This is unacceptable

No surprise this hospital has a low rating, literally most disappointing facility I’ve ever been too. Just left surgery, all cut open and they didn’t even solve the problem. Please stop wasting money on upgrading the facility and upgrade the staff .

I would rate this location with no stars if that was possible. By far, the worst hospital I have ever seen. Changing the name to Corewell, did not change the horrible culture of this institution.

Let me tell you! Dr. Aurora, my big sister went in to see the doctor and she didn’t know she had a blood clot on her lungs, so she was having a pulmonary embolism. When she was explaining to Dr. Aurora, what was wrong he started laughing and walked out on her in midsentence while she was still talking. Come to find out she was having a pulmonary embolism. He was going to send her home. Furthermore, it’s my grandmother’s heart doctor so we’ll have to switch immediately and a formal complaint must be filed against him for his behavior. Laughing at her, being rude and cutting her off in mid-sentence, while she was speaking. There was another doctor that was with him at the time, and they were both arrogant and rude and unprofessional. This must be addressed.!!!

Dr. Mancini told my mother in ER that since she didn’t get COVID vaccine that he would rather not treat her and her be admitted to another hospital. What kind of so called “doctor” says that or does that to a person. Disgusting excuse for a hospital.

My wife had an ultrasound today and due to covid they wouldn't let me and my 1 year old in. Asked if we could video and the nurse said no! Called patient relations and they said we can and that policy changed due to covid that allowed it. So after calling back and relaying the info, the nurse felt some kind of way and went and told her manager she didn't feel safe/comfortable being recorded or having her voice her. So she called me and said she would allow the video call but she wouldn't say anything. Clearly this isnt our first ultrasound so we know the standard of care is to explain whats being measured/done during the process. I will never come back here again!
