Caribbean Authentic Cuisine

Some of the most authentic Jamaican food I’ve had in Michigan. My family is Jamaican and my father was born and raised there and came to the states in his 20s so my review comes from some familiarity of the real deal. It’s a one-man show, so make sure your patient and also remember Jamaicans go by “island time” But if you can be patient, you won’t regret it. I’ve had them cater my Jamaican independence parties as well as grab takeout, and have never been disappointed in the quantity or the quality. My friends are now all obsessed with the patties and the jerk chicken is some of the most tender melt in your mouth chicken you’ll have. Also, don’t sleep on the rice and peas. They have the perfect amount of scotch bonnet flavor and coconut milk. Sorry my photos were an after thought, after I stuffed my face.

This was truly 5/5 star food! My partner & I decided to try this restaurant after grocery shopping nearby and I’m so happy we did. We got the goat curry and jerk chicken and it did NOT disappoint. Both dishes were HUGE and so flavorful. The man running the restaurant was very kind and did a great job preparing our food. Super authentic experience and I’d totally recommend visiting this place.

Had a taste for some authentic Jamaican food and i came across this place through my searches. The owner was very nice and answered all the questions i asked in regards to the items on the menu. I ordered the Oxtail dinner with Jamaican rice and cabbage, Jerk Chicken dinner with Jamaican rice and cabbage also, and a beef patty. Let me start off by saying the oxtails were DEEEELIIICIOUS!!!!!!. Cooked to perfection, tenderness, fall off the bone while still getting a satisfying bite bursting with that delicious Caribbean flavor!! Very savory n succulent sauce that the oxtails were resting in!! Now i wont lie, overall I'm not a fan of rice in general it can be almost any kind and i will make a sad face :(...its just not my thing. HOWEVER!!! I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor from the rice that came with the dinners!! Very tasty!! The the cabbage was juicy and had very nice flavor to it. Each bite was very tender and pleasant. The beef patty?!?!? WAS OFF THE CHAIN!!!!. The patty crust was nice and crispy around the edges and packed full of delicious meat!!! The crust was flaky in the center and had a nice flavor addition as well. While I liked the jerk chicken a lot, almost as much as the oxtails. The flavor meter was very high!!! I felt that the Jerk chicken would of been perfection if it was just a little juicier! Other than that the food was wonderful and if you are looking for that authentic Jamaican touch, then this is your place!!! 9/10!!

Food, portion size is incredible (had the jerk chicken). Took a while to get taken care of, however the food was well worth the wait. Was also prompted to try the pineapple ginger juice which was very tasty. Will definitely be back to try out some other dishes.

My first time trying this amazing cuisine and I was throughly impressed. I came in and was greeted like family. The chef even allowed me to sample a small dish before purchasing to help me make my decision. I went with the oxtails because I’ve never had them before and they were great. Also the sample dish of curry chicken and jerk chicken had great taste and flavor as well. If you’re looking for real authentic taste, then This is the place! MUST TRY!

Food was really good! I ordered the oxtail, next time I'll try the red snapper. My advice would be to order in advance due to it being a small business and high volume of orders to avoid an extensive wait.

Oxtails was great and seasoned very well. May be a little spicy for some people. Ordered a beef patty on the side it was nice and crispy and seasoned well. Good customer service and nice portions more than enough food. Will be returning

I really liked this place! I got the small oxtails with rice and cabbage and it was really good and flavorful! The chef was very nice and personable making the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this place!

One of the most authentic Jamaican food spots you can find. Everything he cooks tastes amazing. I have tried most things off the menu and not one dish has disappointed me. Whenever I crave authentic Caribbean food that reminds me of back home, this is my go too.

Chef Nev was throwing it down! Food took a long time to take out due to him putting so much love into it! The Jerk Chicken & Curry Chicken is Amazing and Portions are crazy big Highly recommend trying the food out and it’s also Zabiha Halal

Some of the best Jamaican food I’ve had!! I got the jerk chicken dinner with a beef patty and Jamaican soda and it was divine! Tender, spicy and the rice and red beans were also delicious :) will definitely come back

We discovered this spot in the area and couldn’t pass it up. We ordered take out. Inside has a sign of the main dishes available and decided on the red snapper and oxtail dinner. Chef Nev does not play around. He knows flavor. Let me tell you on the drive home, we could not stop commenting on the delicious aroma of the food. I barely had enough time to take the pictures before we devoured everything. I’m not sure what came over me, it was too amazing. The flavors, texture, and spices were perfect. We will be back.

The food here is amazing! We had the curry goat and the jerk chicken. The meat is tender and juicy with the perfect amount of sauce, and the flavor is simply amazing. Been craving good Caribbean food for a while and this hit the spot. Very friendly vibes from Chef! We'll be back for sure.

Wanted to try something new tonight, boy did I make the right decision to try out Chef Nev’s Caribbean cuisine!! Amazing and friendly service (plus great music), the food is just phenomenal 😋 I got the curry chicken w/ fried plantains, you can tell the pride Chef takes in cooking his amazing food. This was my first time trying Caribbean curry chicken, but it just immediately felt like home! So yummy (meat just comes off the bone like nothing), great price, and friendly staff. I’ll be back to try the Goat Curry next time ✌

Came here today for lunch while visiting from Toledo. This place is absolutely amazing. Boyfriend and I got the jerk chicken, oxtails, beef patties, plantains, and collard greens. The portions were very generous and flavor was fantastic. Also tried the Sour Sop juice- very interesting, but really good. Owner was very nice and personable. Definitely check this place out! We will come back next time we’re in town.

The food was great! We ordered jerk chicken, oxtails, & curry goat everything was wonderful! I wish the jerk chicken had been a little more spicy, as it was very mild but still full of flavor. Definitely will be going back again.

Great tasting jerk chicken and rice & peas. Oxtail were good. Not extra kick or spice as typical. For those that don't like spice/heat in oxtail you'll love it. Plantains were a little on dry side but still go well with food. Cabbage was solid addition as well. Not pictured was the sorrel drink but it didn't last long. It was refreshing and delicious. The owner/cook/cashier are nice & gracious. Clean interior.

Chef Nev put his heart and soul in all of this food! Fresh and cooked to order Absolutely delicious! The oxtails were fall off the bone tender ! cabbage ,rice and plantains cooked to perfection. This is my first experience of Caribbean Cuisine and I'm impressed! The reviews pointed me to this restaurant and Chef Nev did not disappoint! I recommend this restaurant to everyone!

This place is filled with inspiration. Excellent customer service from Dominic. Home style and authentic cooking by Neville. My husband and I came from NY on a quest for good food. This is the place! Reasonable prices. Get the $35 special, which give you a taste of everything. The food is fresh delicious and healthy. Seasoned to perfection. Not overbearing in salt. Did I mention the sour sop, ginger and sorrel drink? The juices were amazing and healthy, with little to no sugar, nutritious and filled with antioxidants.
