This is my all time favorite thrift store. Their new set up in kinda wonky and doesn't really make sense, but it's still the best in West Michigan, in my opinion. People complain they are pricy, but everything is pricy. They have to keep up too, and they support all the programs in town for helping people overcome their struggles.

HRM'S gateway store is amazing. I cannot believe the deals. New and gently used. You name it. I walk out smiling every time. This is a great place to Christmas shop on a budget. They have a lot of NIB merchandise. We love this store. Holland Michigan is loaded with great second hand and retail outlets. I suggest you make a day of it and come see the opportunities in this town. All the items above were purchased at HRM. All at remarkable prices, and for a great cause!

Wow! What a wonderful place to shop. There is a lot of space for a lot of merchandise. Topping my shopping experience off, was a very kind and cheerful cashier. Highly recommend!

We were in Holland for the first time over the weekend, and we checked this store out.

Thrift stores tend to stress me out, so I've never been a fan. My mom and SIL really wanted to take some in, though, so I got dragged along.

I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed by this store. It was super clean and organized, and the staff was quite friendly. I even walked away with a couple items. If I lived in town, I would definitely check this place out often.

2023 UPDATE: This has become my FAVORITE THRIFT STORE - it has changed SO much in the last 4 years. I go here every day and almost always find something. Sometimes prices are higher, but they aren't too high for those who want to keep items. Management and team members seem to be a well oiled machine. They are courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. There are OFTEN long lines at the checkout, but the staff really knows how to keep things moving. NOW, I just wish SO many people would stop coming here! It's insane!! ****** (the following is from 4 years ago). This organization has been around, in the Holland area, for around 100 years Within the last few years a private donor gave over $1.000,000. as I understand it. Much of that $$ went into a centralized building complex. The thrift STORE (a cash cow) isn't much better than it ever was, even since it existed many years ago - POORLY run. It now seems that some dealers got their noses in there and were able to snatch the better items, CHEAP. Now, after one so called "appraiser" price setting guy left (why, I don't know) some woman and others (perhaps) entered the fray and is pricing hard goods (decorative, furniture, jewelry, dishes, etc), that they are perceiving to be more valuable (most often errantly) too HIGH. This is what typically happens at most thrift stores, eventually. Those back room pricing "experts" don't really know what they are doing, for the most part BUT they may know enough about quality items. If they do know what they are doing, these stores often allow professional antique dealers/collectors do the "appraising" and price the items they put on the floor. Then again, those high prices appear because, quite often, those said dealer/collector "helpers" tend to keep the better stuff for themselves. Who even knows what actually comes in or what goes out, that would be somewhat more valuable? After years of shopping thrifts, I know when a place is being skimmed. They ALWAYS put the occasional display of "pricier" items out in a case to make it look like they are doing the right thing. Let me tell you, that's usually stuff they don't want to keep.

It is a very huge place. I only had things to drop off. As I drove up, a man met me with a bin to put my things in. He helped me unload and then took the things in. It was very efficient, and I was quickly on my way. By the outside appearance, I would think the inside would also be neat and tidy.

What a wonderful thrift store! It is a well managed, organized & a new place to go & not to be missed. I went just recently, & found holiday decor from vintage to new in the box, displayed on clearly labeled shelving with a mile of "snowmen" & next to it, "angels". If you need holiday music, there is a bookcase full of 100's of CD's from every era for the holidays. The cashiers were pleasant & stated their numerous discount offers, to help, even with just a couple of items. They're equipped with a large roll of paper to wrap-up your fragiles, too. I would not hesitate to say to support this great place by donating or shopping and leaving your change for them in the till.

After one visit here, this is now my absolute favorite thrift store! The selection and prices can't be beat! I even picked up a Bible while there and they didn't charge for it! Wonderful Christian atmosphere and you know your money is going to help so many.

Five stars for sure! Gateway is a wonderful store. Not only because of its prices, but because of how spacious the store is. Often second hand stores are filled to the max and the aisles are cramped. Not here. It is also very clean. Selection is great and most of the clothes are in good shape. Good selection of furniture and prices are fair. It is rare that I walk out empty handed.

A lot of things are priced Right. Some things are priced a little bit too high, though you have to skip those. Overall a good place to find nice things in Holland. And there are so many different discounts for different people.

I love HRM's Gateway thrift store and the Gateway center. The work they do to help people turn their lives around and to make a difference in our community is awesome! Some may feel that the prices are a little higher than other thrift stores, but I am blessed when I remember where that money is going. The team at the Gateway center is top notch for many of them what they do is a labor of love. I also appreciate the fact that I can trust things that are put out on the floor because of the way they are looked over before they are put out. sure something slip through the cracks but unlike some thrift stores I've been to where I find many things with stains pet hair and missing parts this is not the case at the Gateway thrift store.

I buy from the store and I donate all I can to the store. They run the store very well & give senior discounts!
I know the workers learn a trade as they are on the job sorting & pricing. All funds go to the great cause of ministering, teaching & guiding the homeless in the way God would have them go!!
