8th Avenue Community Park

Beautiful park and little beach with trails all alround

Great park with a nice playground, walkways, bridges, and much more. Georgetown did a nice job on this park...and I do not live in Georgetown.

We just moved to the area. And we had a wonderful time. It was not overcrowded the water was warm it was really cleaned up. And everybody that was there cooking took care of their space. Definitely a recommendation for families or even teenagers to go and hang out.

Wonderful public beach that is perfect for little ones and babies. The water is calm, the beach is small, and it’s a short walk to the water as well as the play ground. $10 per car but I guess that’s changing on July 1st to $5 per adult and $3 per child, no maximum. So sad.

Great playground for kids, great fishing, low key atmosphere. Area was well kept n maintained. Bathrooms were very unclean though. Glad I lived few minutes from there to use my own potty. They were dog friendly. Picnic areas were kept nice n clean.

The playground area is full sun but really cool. Covered picnic area. The beach is great and water is nice and clean for swimming.

Great place for kids to let there energy out. Nice place for walking, joging and family ativities.

This is honestly an amazing place. Well it is smaller its nice and clean! The beach area is a good size and its a perfect place for a lovely day at the beach

Nice little park with pretty new equipment. The ground nice a nice squishy fake turf so when kids trip or fall they don't get hurt. It has a pretty nice beach area as well with a good sized pond. Perfect for kayaking. There is also a trail that goes around the pond that is shaded most of the way. This park has it all!

My family really enjoys this park! I have gone to this park for the last 20 years and it is such a peaceful, relaxing place. There is a nice walking path around the lake/pond that is about a mile long. It's a nice nature walk with a variety of birds(blue heron, bald eagle), turtles, rabbits, etc. There are nice decks for fishing, and a large pavilion. The beach and playground areas are very nice as well and well maintained. I would like to put a word of caution out there for swimming - there is a sharp drop off not too far from shore. There have been several drownings in this pond. You do have to pay admission to this park if not a Georgetown Township resident between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

This place was excellent it has everything that a family would love. When you come here you see many great things. And it's a beach that you can swim into. you can tell they take good care of the park because when I went that there was new sand. To be honest it's not really that big but there is a walking trail and a walking trail is very nice and there's also a boardwalk.

The play area is super cool! Lots of different attractions for many ages. The covered area with tables to sit at is also very nice. The boardwalk downto the water is really cool and they had just cleaned up the beach as another patron stated. The was presumed dog and seagull poop all over the beach. Who takes their dog to the park and does not feel responsible to clean up after them?!?!

8th Ave Park has a wonderful paved trail that encircles the lake! The lake itself and the Sandy Beach area is kept up and clean. There are several large shaded lounging areas if you want to stay out of the sun. For the little ones there is a nice play area with enough equipment to keep them busy.
For those who enjoy a walk through the woods there is also a wooded area that is kept trimmed up so that it's safe and enjoyable. I almost forgot to mention the covered eating area with plenty of tables for a family reunion!

The improvements to this park since my last visit are vast. A paved or improved trail circles the lake. Elevated boardwalks, lookout decks, and benches make for pleasant walks.

Beautiful park. If you are a Georgetown township resident it is free to enter. Otherwise, it is $10. Nice little lake. I brought our inflatable boat and rowed around it's few times. A few areas to cook out and easy access from beach to water

Very nice park. Lots of beach. Great walk around the lake. Lots of bridges. Looks like it may be a good and safe place for fishing. We'll worth the 10 bucks for entry.
