Pyramid Mountain Parking

A nice place to hike if you're in the area. Parking was plenty but could be crowded on a busy day. We went on a Monday and there were more cars than expected for a late monday morning.

When we went mid October, the leaves were turning yellow. The surrounding nature was relaxing and pretty. It would definitely be even more beautiful if the leaves turned orange and red as well.

We hiked the tripod rock trail and visited a few overlooks along the way. The overlooks were ok not too impressive to be honest. The trail difficulty is easy to moderate in my opinion. Majority of the trail was relatively flat. Only a few areas of the trail had inclines and were rocky.

Overall, a nice place to spend outdoors and enjoy nature.

Parking lot is stabilized. 2 Portable toilets. Secure Trash dumpster. Easy yellow trail. Mild climbing. Good for unexperienced hikers. Mostly stabilized. Not a lot of scenery. Need spikes in freezing weather

Drive carefully while entering this parking lot - the transfer from the main road to the dirt one of parking lot isn't smooth enough. Cars with a small clearance could feel it :)
Overall, nice parking lot, the closest point to the initial trail start.
Note, it's usually full, so lots of cars are parked along the main road (Boonton Ave). Some free places on the parking lot could be found in the early morning or after 4pm.

Really large parking lot, it was closed when I arrived because they were cutting trees along the trail. Street parking is also acceptable it seems. Bathrooms, maps, and trash cans available at the parking lot.

There were plenty of parking spots at 930 when I arrived, but by 12, it was full and many cars were parked out on the road. This was on a weekend in the winter.

Great hiking area! Super fun trail, no boring lengths and a little bit of everything, bouldering, scrambling, interesting rocks, stream hopping, a resevoir and so much more!
