Buddy Brewster's Ale House

My family and I came to this area for a few hours and stopped in to Buddy Brewsters for a late lunch. We had a party of 10 and the staff did a wonderful job accommodating. They were all very nice!

I was excited about the menu as there were several things I wanted to try. I had the cheese curd appetizer which was ok for me. The flavor was really good but the cheese was a little chewy. For my meal, I had the Prime Rib Potroast. 3 of us actually got this meal. I absolutely loved it!!!! The meat was tender, the mashed potatoes & Gravy had good flavor and the veggies tasted fresh. I'd order it again in a heart beat! Our niece ordered a burger. That also looked to have pulled pork on it. She said it was real good as well.

The restaurant itself seemed very clean. I liked the atmosphere and the theme with dogs in the artwork.

I recommend a stop here. I'd go again!

I’ve never had a bad meal or service here. Their Philly Cheesesteak Pasta and Buffalo Chicken Macaroni & Cheese are our favorites. Forgot to snap a picture of dessert - the Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie is the BEST if you have room for it after your meal.

Sitting here now and stuffed from my meal. This place is amazing. Friendly staff and our server is amazing, friendly and was on top of everything. Danielle did amazing and a hard worker. Will be back

We enjoyed a very good dinner this evening. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding.
I ordered the Smoked, BBQ half chicken with onion rings and macaroni salad. My wife ordered the Turkey, bacon club sandwich on a pretzel bun with tater tots.
My chicken had a great smokey flavor and was very moist and tender. The BBQ sauce that came with it was Jack Daniels brand and complimented the smokey flavor of the chicken perfectly. The onion rings were some of the best I have ever had. The macaroni salad however was average for what I have had at other restaurants and even from some of the local grocery stores, but still good.
My wife's sandwich was also delicious. She commented several times about the sear or gilling that was done to the turkey giving it an excellent bite. She also said the honey mustard sauce was a very tasty addition to the other flavors. As for the tater tots, she said they had a good crispness and were delicious as well.
Our waitress was very friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and provided recommendations on appetizers, meals, and desserts.
With drinks, our meal came to just under $46, plus tip.
The overall seating area has changed some from the former restaurant layout, but only so much can be done in a small footprint. There was a television on the wall near our table showing sports. It wasn't turned up and was not a distraction to our dinner. We didn't go into the bar area of the restaurant, but looking in from the entrance it seemed to have plenty of seating and space for people to enjoy a game on television, or a group of friends to get together for a few drinks.
I visited the restroom while there and can say I don't believe it has been updated since the previous restaurant was there, but it is well maintained and clean.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal, the service, and the atmosphere. We will be returning soon.

This was our first time dining here and we'll definitely be coming back. My husband had the fish fry and the fish itself was most and delicious. The batter was a bit too thick for his liking so he'll probably try the broiled next time. I had the smoked chicken BBQ and have zero complaints. The chicken was very moist with great flavor. The skin was crispy and also very flavorful. I especially liked the garlicky smashed potatoes. They needed neither butter nor gravy. Nora, our waitress, was attentive without being intrusive and has a wonderful personality. We thank the chef and the staff for a great experience !

Food and service is excellent. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but worth it for special occasions.

The only downside is the music. They played loud, obnoxious country music pretty much the whole time we were there.

No complaints here...my husband's steak was cooked perfectly, my quesadilla was good. Our waitress, Nora, was pleasant and efficient. Will be back!

The music was good. The food was amazing we started with the loaded Brewster fries and omg were they phenomenal.

Good food - good service - good prices.
Fish was ok. Steak was ok.
Will certainly return.

If you're looking for a delicious meal that hits the spot, look no further than this restaurant. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying their mouthwatering fish sandwich and fries, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed.

The fish sandwich was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside, and juicy and flavorful on the inside. The bun was fresh and soft, and the accompanying toppings were just right, adding a nice balance of texture and flavor to the sandwich.

The fries were also fantastic - crispy and golden-brown on the outside, and fluffy and tender on the inside. They were perfectly salted and seasoned, and made for an excellent side dish to accompany the sandwich.

Overall, I would highly recommend Buddy Brewster's to anyone looking for a great meal in Lakewood, NY. If you're in the area, be sure to check this place out - you won't be disappointed!

I have to say that after reading some of the reviews I had a 50/50 opinion of the restaurant before I even ordered my dinner. But I have to say this is the best meal that I have had in many many years at a restaurant. I was the point where I was looking for something to criticize just because everything was so perfectly done and tasted wonderful! I got the half smoked chicken with coleslaw and french fries. I also got the tater tots that were loaded with pulled pork onion straws beer cheese and BBQ sauce and the jumbo sauce pretzel. Let's not forget the Long Island tea to go with it. Everything was absolutely delicious and I cannot wait to bring my five children with next time. If you're looking for somewhere delicious to go out to eat I highly recommend checking out Buddy Brewster's.

Last week we placed a door dash order from Buddy Brewsters (Lakewood location).
Unfortunately, there was an error when making one of our quesadillas and it would not be eaten the way it was made. We went to door dash and all they offered us was a $4.91 credit but the item was $15.99. More than anything, we just wanted the right quesadilla because we LOVE them.
I called the restaurant and let them know the issue and that we did not want to go to the restaurant to get a new meal (the whole reason we used DD because we didn’t want ti leave the house lol). I asked if they could leave us a credit or something and we would just place a new order with DD.
Instead, the GM got on the phone, took our order, and took his own personal time to deliver us a new corrected quesadilla.
I have never had an experience like this and I was so thankful that he did this for us!
5 stars all around and thank you to the GM who did this for us!!

Forgot the chicken on my daughter's salad. Offered to make new salad, We said just bring chicken. Gave her free order of fries. Good portion sizes. Food was delicious. Service was great!

We had chicken wing dip and wonton chips as an appetizer! Not too spicy, but good! Black and Blue burger was cooked perfectly! My husband had the Reuben. It was perfect and hot too! Great service and pleasant waitstaff!

Our waitress was Danielle, she was so so sweet and welcoming!!! Went in around 5pm. We ordered the Twisted pretzel with beer cheese, it was delicious and HUGE.
Entrees we ordered the Alehouse chili burger and the All - American burger. You have a choice of pink or no pink, we went with no pink. I got the tater tots for the side and my boyfriend got the French fries - YUMMY!!! The place was a little stuffy, maybe they just had the heat on since it is fall, and they didn’t have their liquor license yet so no alcohol yet, should be in a few days they get it I would assume. Worth the 30 minuet drive!!!!!

That smoked chicken though…wowwww….. ate a buddy’s tonight for the first time. They were really busy. It was a little bit of a wait but the food and experience were well worth it. Shaq was a great server. I’m glad they brought this to Lakewood, we needed something new. The atmosphere in there is awesome. I can’t wait to eat out on the patio next summer. Will definitely be back soon.

I watched with anticipation as the restoration of the former Ruby Tuesday building progressed. My wife and I were frequent diners at one time and was exited there might soon be a much needed additional dining option.
My first visit was an exploratory mission to determine if it was somewhere I wanted to bring my wife.
Wow . . . I was blown away. The job they did on the renovation was amazing, the service was great and the food was exceptional! I ordered the Rueben with fries. As I told my server, I’ve eaten all over the country and it was the best Rueben I’ve ever eaten . . . the fries were outstanding.
My second visit was the clincher. I convinced my wife to come back with me, hoping she would have a similar experience.
She liked the atmosphere; we were waited on quickly and then came the final test . . . the food. I loved their Rueben, but was it a fluke? So, I ordered the French Dip and onion rings. My wife eats a little lighter and ordered broiled fish with a side of green beans. Everything was AMAZING; my French dip was every bit as good as the Rueben, the onion rings were unbelievable, and even better, my wife loved her fish and the green beans . . . I hate vegetables and I couldn’t stop eating them.
Why was everything so great? It was the attention to detail. A beautiful atmosphere, fresh ingredients coupled with exceptional seasonings and a wait staff that was friendly and attentive.
It was so nice to experience something exceptional rather than settling for mediocre.
