Home to hard to find Vegan specials in the Albany, New York metro area. My Bacon is manufactured in Green Island, New York and is sold at Honest Weight Food Co-op. Which also has several vegan cheeses and frozen vegan products. I have been a customer since the early 2000's and shop there at least twice a week. Still not a member yet. But this is one of the places I frequent to purchase my groceries. The staff are very friendly and informative on the products sold. I must add they care about the freshness of what they carry and serve.
Was there on January 31, 2024 to purchase some items for my Wife, ( SHE LOVES THE HUMMUS WRAPS AND SEVERAL OTHER ITEMS, I cannot come home empty handed 🤣 ) there were a few items that were on the shelf with an expiration date of today January 31, 2024, I asked the staff in the deli if I can ask for a fresher one to be made and the gentleman in the deli made a few new ones, so I ended up purchasing 2 Hummus wraps, which I will say are very delicious 👍. I enjoy shopping at Honest Weight because of the VERY POSITIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE INTERACTION 👍👍👍👍👍

I love shopping here. I look forward to my visits. The staff is generally very friendly and eager to help. Variety and high quality stuff, a lot of local, organic. A bit pricey, but this is food, we put it in our body. I think differently now and I'm willing to pay more. The stores' policies make sense and it seems so well run. Great shopping carts!

A great grocery store that’s more, the bulk section you could get lost in. It’s nice to buy as little or as much of something you want. Perfect example, you’re making a recipe that calls for several spices you don’t have you can buy just a small amount. The employees are very helpful and friendly.

I came back from from Jersey. I'm glad I came back and enjoyed the atmosphere and service.

Instead of going to corporate interests shop here there's everything you might need and its in a spot that rarely changes so you can always expect to find what your after where you remember it being. The bulk section is my personal favorite where I can get almost anything from beans rices pasta all the way to ready to go vegan soup mix. But the best part is the Cooperative part with an ownership card you can actively take part in the Democratic processes that determine how it's run

Great selection of food available at their hot bar and in their grab and go section. Items are clearly labeled at a glance for vegan & vegetarian suitability. Cafe area was clean and well maintained. Love the idea of having a designated “chat checkout” where patrons can take more time and chat with the cashier.

I think almost everything here is organic or something like that. They sell all kind of groceries, meat, fish, poultry, coffee, tea, spices and plants. The shop arrangement is beautiful. You can also buy different kind of oils as much as you like by weighing with the weighing machine and put it in your own bottle. Same apply to coffee and spices. They also sell candles soaps and dog foods. Whoever never been there show go and visit there for at least once, it's worth it.

I love this store so much they have so many things it's hard to shop it takes forever because I want everything. It's clean all the employees are so nice. They have so many things that aren't available in regular supermarkets. But the price point is higher than others which does hinder me from indulging my cravings too much.

So I've had the luxury of some down time in the past week in the Schenectady / Albany area of New York, where I've never been to before and if you're me, you're going to look for vegan restaurants and co-op markets to hang out and make friends with all the vegetables in the produce section.

So I roll up into Honest Weight co-op, thinking "I hope this is almost as good as the Wedge in Minneapolis," because to be honest, I've never seen anything close to that anywhere I've traveled to.

Well I spent THREE and a HALF hours there. That's just yesterday. Because today, I went back for another hour and a half.

Mind = blown. This place has everything and I mean EVERYTHING. Certainly everything I could imagine that was on my wishlist.

Fresh, cultivated oyster, maitake & shitake mushrooms; wild harvested chaga chunks and reishi & cordyceps mushroom powder. Everything I've been learning about and becoming interested in the last several years. I also rounded out and tightened up my spice collection, especially the Indian spices that can sometimes be so hard to find, especially in a bulk section.

Amazing, beautiful produce, a lot of it locally sourced, combined with friendly staff - and enough staff both to serve the customer load and keep it a tight, smoothly run ship. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.

Did I mention the fresh made nut butter section with everything you could imagine and then some? Or the oil & vinegar section? Same thing. Want almond or spelt flour or dead sea salt about 50 different varieties of flours, salts, powders and so on? Just go to such and such aisle and you will find all things baking that will blow your mind.

Nut section? Same thing. Tea section? Same. Coffee, sea vegetable section, grain section, bean section, vegan section, gluten free section, deli, fresh baked breads? Kombucha section? Plant milk section? Health and beauty section? Same. All of 'em, same thing. And more.

My mind still hasn't fully grasped how they've managed to squeeze all these amazing products and all their awesome, super freindly staff and just.. all this awesomeness into a footprint that would probably be similiar to what some of the largest, corporate, name brand grocery stores in the midwest are, yet still feel like there's no rush, plenty of room in the aisles and lots of friendly, knowledgeable staff nearby who are happy, and have the time and patience to, actually answer all of your questions and trade a friendly conversation with.

Discovering this place has adjusted my estimation of what a food co-op can be. I still love my Wedge co-op in Minneapolis, and they are really great, but Whole Weight is a whole other level. And I have to assume that the proximity to the major ports on the Atlantic surely must be a major advantage in comparison to the midwest. Still, I'm humbled and super psyched to see and learn and grow more and that there is still a lot to see in this world that will make you smile. If you're in the area, check it out!

A great place to find specialty products, local treats, vegan options, bulk, gluten-free options, and high quality ingredients. I also do much of my regular grocery shopping here. Certain ingredients can be pricey, but I find prices on your run of the mill items to be comparable to other places. There are food items that I’ve become attached to that I can only find here.

I love this place. They made a cake for my daughter's first birthday. They customized it to have no sugar, but sweetened with maple syrup. The people working here are always friendly. The prices are also very reasonable. I just wish I lived closer. I would do all of my grocery shopping here.

Love this store!! Glad I discovered it because I found out they sell Ines Rosales tortas de aceite from Spain. They're not easy to find and much more expensive online. Plus I lucked out as they were ON SALE!! The staff were very helpful and courteous. I could spend hours strolling the aisles of this store. Will be visiting again soon.
