Doubleday's Grill & Tavern

Packed restaurant, on a weekday, around 2pm, a couple people waiting to sit....good sign in my opinion! And boy was everything about this place good. The food was not only delicious, the portions were large (as you'll notice in my photos).
Our waitress was super, even in the midst of waiting on so many other tables- always arriving to our table with a smile.
You must try the fish! Best. Fish. Sandwich. Crunchy outside, flaky fish inside. Loved it! My husband got the Cowboy Chicken sandwich and couldn't believe how good it was. A little messy, but what good sandwich isn't, right!?
I got a side of baked apples with my fish and they were alright...a little crunchy and could've used more gooey stuff, as they were dry.
The loaded french fries were the bomb!💣💥 you won't regret trying them!

This salad 🥗 😋 😍 had ample chicken!! And the sauce on the chicken mixed with the ranch on the salad was banging.. i had the small chicken tender salad, with 🍯 honey BBQ sauce and fries. Papaw had the soup bowl, potato 🥔 & cheese 🧀! He added some crackers on top!!. He said it was really good and cheesy, and he's a spud 🥔 guy! Our waiter was Patrick! 👏 Awesome customer service, Patrick!

Great local food and friends. Manager Jerry came and spoke at length, very welcoming. Alexis is a great waitress. Loved the fried fish and Brussels sprouts.

I have been going to the Alex Bell Location since 2013 and I cannot recall a bad meal here ever! Your Mom's meatloaf is my favorite dish but I also recommend: the Kobe Beef Burger, the Yuengling beer battered fish and Nachos for your main dish. I highly recommend the mac and cheese and the Brussels sprouts with vinaigrette and bacon for your sides. Our go to for an appetizer is the fried pickles and the house made thousand islands dressing.
Thank you for always having impeccable service, hot shareable meals and offering carryout and delivery. We do our best when we come to visit the Dayton area to stop in and eat here whenever we are in town. We live two hours away from the nearest Doubleday's but if you open another location in Columbus we will definitely be a returning customer!

Doubleday's is a tasty spot with a couple locations near Dayton! They have a large menu selection and a very clean restaurant. I got their scrumptious French onion soup, which is one of the best I've had. It is hearty with broth, onions, bread, and a thick layer of cheese on top. I had already mixed it in when I took the picture. The buffalo chicken ranch wrap was very flavorful. The only thing that could've made it better, in my opinion,.is if the tortilla had been toasted, but it was still soft and cold. Onion rings are very good. I would happily order all this again.

This restaurants is one of my favorite go-to spots when I’m craving a burger. It is absolutely delicious and worth every dollar. I think I ordered this four times in one week at some point. It’s a very large and filling meal! Would highly recommend. (I ordered the Old Fashioned Bacon Cheddar Burger on the pretzel bun with a side of sweet potato fries).

First time eating here and it was great. Fish sandwich was hot and tasty with a perfect crispy batter. Chicken pasta soup was creamy with great flavors. Chili was very beefy with few beans and only mildly spicy. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Great food, huge portions, wide variety on menu with combo choices. I ordered chicken pasta soup but got cream of chicken soup. It was good, so I kept it. Good service. Definitely be back!😋👍‼

Come on in and ask for the best bartender you'll ever meet by the name of Kelly. Good little place to get a nice pour of bourbon and good food. Everything is tasty but definitely try the ribs and the pizza!

My family and I just visited the new Doubleday's location here in Centerville. We were all thoroughly impressed with our experience this evening.

There's a lot more room in this new space... the walls are covered with great sports images... and we already know that the food is some of the best in Dayton!!!

Tonight.. our service was stellar... as it always is!! The pizza was even better than we remembered... we cannot wait to come back!!! Thanks again everyone!!! You rocked it!! 🤘🏼

Excellent place! Food was absolutely delicious, the service was very good. All around great place to eat, differently will be back.

Customer service is great and they checked in with me often. Food is delicious. I enjoyed a fish sandwich with onion rings and fresh broccoli with fresh ice tea.

This place is amazing!!!!! Every meal, the price, the staff are all wonderful. My favorite place in Dayton.

It was absolutely delicious, and huge servings. We had the fish sandwich special (huge! $10) with wedges (the best we ever had) and a turkey wrap with the best mac and cheese anywhere.

Lauren was an outstanding waitress. Ask for her, you will not regret it. We had onion soup and the margarita pizza both were prepared and served hot. Nice crunch on the thin pizza. We will be going back.

I highly recommend the Mad For Meat Pizza. I have to say I have not had a pizza that good in years. It was amazing. I'm not from the area so unfortunately I won't be having it again soon but I will definitely return next visit to Centerville.

The soups are terrific with my favorite being French Onion. My favorite meal is chicken pot pie.

Great space for casual, bar-type dining with friends and/or family. The food is nothing special beyond expected for a mid priced meal in the Ohio; meaning the flavors are more bland than exotic but that’s okay. The service is impeccable considering that we visited on a weeknight and the place was packed with a waiting list. I would recommend this place because the atmosphere is just a very pleasant vibe filled with interesting people.

Doubleday's is always the best; best food, best drinks, best service. Their homemade ranch is killer, and their chicken tenders are famous. You can't go wrong with anything, but I never get anything but their chicken tender salad, without sauce, with double ranch, and a side of fried pickles. Mmmmmmmm

Absolutely recommend!!! So delish!!! Thank you Patrick for your great service!! My only complaint is they need to turn up the heat a little. Me along with alot of other patrons were eating with our coats on. But other than that our new favorite place!!!
