Lovely state park along Route 1 just north of Fort Bragg. Was free admission day for some reason. Paid $10 to use the RV dump which was really nice and easy. Had flush water and also fresh water fill. Great coin showers with super hot water that cost a dollar. Beach was beautiful with restrooms and a fantastic boardwalk trail out to the tidal pool areas. Ranger in entrance booth pointed out a whale skeleton on display. Top rated park.

It's like being in an enchanted forest.... Surreal, ethereal and unique experience. We went here during low tourist traffic season and it's the time to visit as a Californian. It's an escape from the hustle bustle of city life and was quite and peaceful. You could hear your rushing thoughts in the beautiful silence surrounded by giant redwoods... Gorgeous day spent!!!!

Worth every penny of the day use fee, would have been great to see the lodge open but we enjoyed a walk through the trees and a picnic. If you pass by stop in and spend some time with these magnificent trees, you will feel renewed for your onward journey.

There are fees to park or camp here ($8 to park in April 2024). Good bathrooms, lots of trails with old growth redwoods. The store and information center wasn't opened when we were there, but looking through the windows they seemed to have some good merchandise and information available.

If magic and fairys exist they exist here. It is beautiful and has wonderful hikes to go on and a great swimming hole. The visitor center is cozy and informative with a few snacks and cute gifts and a lovely backgammon set in front of a fire place that we enjoyed. I've been taking my kids there for 20 years and they love it every year. From babies just staring up at the trees to kids zipping along the campground on their bikes to jumping off the big rocks at the swimming hole as teenagers/ young adults. It's great for all ages! They are serious about the 10pm quiet time so if you are looking to party it isn't the place. Great for families and those looking for a quiet camping trip (although there is some freeway noise)

Tania, the Ranger, was very friendly and attentive, and even showed my kids some bats in a tree!
Beautiful State Park.
Definitely will come back.

Most beautiful part of our drive. Absolutely gorgeous among the big canopy of huge trees and thick green moss and ferns everywhere. So fresh and clean.

Great place to camp! Our host Chris was good about coming to check on us but not being bothersome. There are showers on the premises as well as bathrooms. Each tent camp site has a water spicket, lockable cabine(bring own lock), a fire ring. There's a rangers station right up front at the entrance. Hiking on location. I would stay again and I do recommend others!

Beautiful stop along the 101 with breathtaking views of the redwoods. Day use fee is $8 per car. Dogs are allowed but not supposed to go on the trails. There are some small roads you can walk down and a short ADA accessible interpretive trail. Also some nice swimming spots in the river if you are here on a hot summer day.

Nice lunch stop location. If your in a large rig and towing pull all the way through to the back where there is a large turn around lot, you can park in. River access for a dip or walk the forest. Picnic table to sit and have lunch and bathrooms too.

This is the first place that I ever saw a giant Redwood Tree and it was a huge thrill. Little did I know that later in our journey I would see the “General Sherman Tree” too, but it is a giant Sequoia. I was loving all of these spectacular trees in California. I also sent pictures and video to my brother and he was more than excited to see them.

Easily one of my favorite places to stop and experience the Giants on 101! Information center and volunteer army are very welcoming. Truly a great place to get up close and personal with the Redwoods.

Unique set of forest. Great little place to visit on a long trip. I must see if you enjoy huge trees it was closed down due to some repairs but the upkeep has been great as long as it's been there.
