Yellowstone Park / West Gate KOA Holiday

We stayed here the last week in September. The staff is amazingly efficient and friendly. The sites were very clean and all have nice patches of grass with great trees for shade. Great dog walking. Altho close to the highway, it was very quiet. The bathrooms were very clean. The store was well stocked, even this last week. We will definitely stay here again.

We had a beautiful cabin. Not exotic, but perfectly functional and well maintained. Kitchenette had a stove (we didn't test it), microwave, fridge and freezer. The shower was lovely and a personal favorite, indoor flushing toilet! Don't forget to use the front porch swings and ponder the beauty all around.

Very kid friendly KOA with covered pool, driveable 4 wheel bike rentals, and a playground. Most sites are shaded by trees and many are pull through with power and sewage hookups and enough room for another vehicle to park behind. They allowed 7 of us to stay on the same site, which is rare. The general store was pretty nice and the laundry facility was clean. The vault shower rooms are partitioned to keep clothes dry and have a deadbolt lock on the door.

Overall, we would stay there again.

Great Location! Great staff. Loved that they didn't charge extra for kids. Close to the West Gate of Yellowstone and the downtown area. TONS of things to do a the park for the kids. Pool was large and well kept. They also have breakfast and dinner plates with LARGE portions! would stay again

Great place to stay! A lot more people than I expected. Fun activities for the kids and the pool was a good size! The back in spot we had was really tight to get into. The people across the aisle had a truck parked on the very edge of the road and there was a big rock on the edge of the site. Getting backed in between those two things was very frustrating after a long day of driving. We were rewarded with a great view out the back of our site.
I'm sure we'll be back!

I am impressed with the staff
Ashley who checked us in is incredibly personable, is very informative and great at her job. Also even one of the gentleman on the golf carts was kind enough to take us all the way to the door of our cabin.

Had a great time at a little cabin here with my 2 dogs. The staff is friendly and ready to help when you accidentally lock yourself out of your cabin. Haha. They have a shop that has everything you might need and some souvenir items. There is plenty of space to walk the dogs and a little play area for them as well. Plenty of great hiking nearby. The quiet hours are enforced which provides you the ability to get a restful nights sleep. Don’t forget to stop by the coffee shed in the morning for your daily dose of caffeine! Wifi is limited so come prepared.

We had a blast there. Stayed in a cabin. Very nice and clean!! Close to the town and a quick ride into Yellowstone national park. We liked the pool and the shop was stocked well. Will be back again.

Nice KOA, RV sites were smaller. We have a 31 ft unit towing a car on a dolly. We just fit with the car off the dolly when parking the car sideways. Nice staff, very professional. We did not use any ammenties as the time was used in Yellowstone park. It is 6 miles south of West Yellowstone Nd were at the end of season.

Nice campsite with a swing for each campsite. They do have little lodges to rent with Weber bbq‘s included as well. Everything we needed was functioning. Kids loved the playground and the indoor pool.

This was my first time staying at a KOA. It was nice! Having flushing toilets and showers was a plus. We had a pull through spot for our motor home. That was great and convenient! Nice fire pits and a swing. It is very welcoming and homey. Lots of mosquitoes, so bring spray or make sure to keep a fire going.

Feedback: I do wish the showers were cleaned out more frequently. Some of the visitors weren't good at cleaning up after themselves. Lots of hair left on the floor of the showers. Yuck.
Also, at 10pm it is supposed to start quite in the camp. For those who get up early. One night, there were many drunk and loud campers near us, and as far as I know, nothing was done about it. Although they did leave the next morning. I think many were unsure who to report that to. People just kept yelling for them to be quiet. Which didn't help the noise level.

This KOA is close to Yellowstone that is why we choose to stay here. All the staff was nice and courteous. We stayed in a tent and it was comfortable enough for us.

Ok I don’t need to add a lot of pictures because they have accurate ones on their site. This KOA serves one purpose - to help ALL ages, ALL campers, have ALL the fun you could possibly have. Note to tenters-you won’t believe what they have for you! A covered dish washing station and the stations have cook stoves! Hilton for tenters! Have kids? I’ve never seen so many kids having so much fun. Mom and dad enjoy having a restaurant on site with actually good food. Last but not least us oldies but goodies are happy here - scoop ice cream at a reasonable price! Too much to cover in this short review. Coming to Yellowstone NP? Come by way if the West entrance and stay here! Oh yeah, they have a real, honest to goodness slide. I showed the 5 year old how it was done ha!

The cabins and the restrooms/bathrooms were clean - I was pleasantly surprised , despite the site being fully booked.
Cabins are small and cozy and the site is quiet and dark. Pancakes and coffee available at the restaurant onsite.

This was a wonderful place to stay. The kids loved it here. The staff was so nice to them, my 6 and 9 year old loved hanging out in the gift shop and just chatting with the lady at the fudge counter. Along with that they had mini-golf and these four wheel bikes the kids could rent for a reasonable price and play while the wife and I made dinner. The bathrooms, showers, and pool were all clean and well maintained. We were only supposed to be there for 3 nights, but when yellowstone closed due to flooding they were so helpful in extending our stay. We ended up staying there 10 days in total. Along with all of this they had great food for breakfast and a full service coffee cart with espresso and all the other fancy coffee you want.

I will definitely be back.

It seems like a nice campground. All the staff seemed friendly. We wanted to switch to a different spot that had access to sewage and they were okay with it. The pool is also perfect temperature for swimming. The only complaint that I have about this camp ground is the showers which was pretty gross.

Great location close to the park. Although KOA is older and the bathrooms are in need of some TLC, the amenities are great for families and the location near Yellowstone National Park is perfect. We will stay here again!

We stayed here for two nights in their one room cabin. No bathroom or sink. When booking the room they did mention to bring your own linens so we did. I don’t think we will ever stay in a cabin again just because we had to walk out in the cold to the restrooms in the middle of the night. That experience was scary. The campground was very clean and lots of shade. The showers could use an upgrade or at least a good scrubbing of the walls. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool and renting their bikes. The location was very close to the Yellowstone entrance which was nice. We will stay here again but bring our RV instead of staying in the cabin.

Cabins are cabins at a KOA. The difference is the staff. Folks here were always very friendly and helpful. The girls in the kitchen even began calling my daughter by name. The meals were reasonably priced and good. Minutes from town but away from the crowd. I'd stay here again.

This KOA was top notch clean and professional. The staff, regardless of their job, was professional, polite and friendly. We can’t wait to go back. The site is just enough outside of west Yellowstone that you feel comfortably away from town. The views are pretty and the site is exceptionally clean and tidy.
