i try to get here, when i do go, around 8ish? just before it gets chaotic. i really can't be in such close quarters with so many people at once? everybody here is comfortable with themselves. and give effort on opinion openly. i realize i like the music, and the sermons? but i am more like an exchristian, who is on a different path with my life. i know there is a lot of members doing good service for this city. i occasionally catch their antics on the news. but although i can catch it online. i have a friend that sometimes listens, but wants to go, but fears his own views contradict with this ministry. the real conflict with me personally. is the trip to this church, from where i live can be chaotic. but i do hope they the ministry, succeeds in what it hopes to do..

I went here after the worst of the pandemic was done. How awesome is it they have the church in a old movie theater. Brilliant! I eventually brought my family and my daughter would not stop crying so I removed her so as to not be a distraction to the speaker. A minister informed me of a family room in the basement where I could watch the sermon on TV with my crying baby. He was totally nice about the whole thing. Most churches probably don't have a crying baby room. Very accommodating and nice couches in that basement area. 5 stars are for being treated very nicely by the ministry staff. So if you have a crying disruptive baby, take them to the basement. You will be taken care of! Private area with nice couches. My vibe is that this church is a nice resource to grow your faith. You don't have to dress all fancy and it's a relaxed environment.

Was a nice service. Beautiful inside.
Wish they had a closer bus stop.

Great place to see friends and hear some preaching. Some of the best things about the church are the generosity to the homeless and the welcoming atmosphere to them. This can be seen in the brown bag lunch program, where the give out lunches to anyone, and encourage the congregation to take them, and find a person to give it to. They have a heart for everyone.

The messages are Biblical without compromise. The Church people are very friendly. They do everything possible for you to feel welcome and safe. There are many young Christians even teenagers there. They are really involved in worshipping Jesus Christ. If you are feeling down, lonely and maybe a little frightened. Go and you will be encouraged, refreshed and learn about Jesus Christ

A very welcoming church. They provide coffee, water and lemonade before service. There is a caring and positive vibe. They dont have a sugar coat sermon but very truthful and real. The music is very upbeat. A great place to worship!

Great worship service, cool old theater. Teaching is actually scripture based. They don't just quote a verse out of context to try and fit an idea they want to talk about. The pastors write sermons as a group which is kind of unique.

The church also has a heart for the community of West Allis and Milwaukee, participating in the neighborhood clean up every year, helping the milwaukee rescue mission regularly.

A great church home! I have never seen another church have this much community! I have made so many friends, and taken so many opportunities to be involved and have fun. The people and members are of a great variety as far as age, culture and more. As far as the services, they are the best! The opening worship is great. It’s usually 2 songs kind of up beat to help praise God, then 2 songs for worship. After that is the service, which is given by one of multiple pastors. The variety is great because it caters to everyones learning interest. It doesn’t get dull or boring. And I must add that all the pastors are pretty animated, relatable and down to earth! Once the lessen is done, they collect tithes/offering by way of passing buckets down each row, and picking up at the other end of the row. Then service closes with another song or praise before heading out on your way. The small groups are a huge part of being a part of the Epikos community. Meeting up with a small group of members each week is not only good to talk about the word of God, but it is SO much fun! In our groups, we have hosted pot lucks, drank some wine, had snacks and always talked about life. No one is judging, and everyone just opens up about their story and the lifestyle they live. We lift each other up! It’s great.

I really like Epikos it is a warm welcoming Church. The sermons are Bible based very relevant to today's living. Pastor Dave and Paul keep it very upbeat. It's a mixture of college kids, family's w/ young children and middle-aged people oh and the coffee is great too!!

Visited Epikos for the second time today (first time was Good Friday). I was very impressed with how friendly everyone was. The children's area was great. Our kids were welcomed with open arms and extended grace for how shy and scared they were. The sermon was great. I loved how direct it was. No beating around the bush. We will be going back!

This is a great place to worship, the pastors are awesome. This is a bible based church with contemporary worship music. This place is where God can touch your heart through the his words through the pastors that are here.

Great Bible teaching, modern music and a really cool building.
I've never been to the cafe but I've heard good things about the food and coffee.
Parking is available at the bank just down the road and some other parking across the street.

This is a church that welcomes everyone regardless of age, race, gender, social class, financial status, and where we are on our spiritual journey. I just read a review from 2 years ago where a man was upset and thought that Epikos was liberally biased and believed they promoted segregation after the North Side riots, and it broke my heart to see that review, because it's just absolutely not true. Please dont believe that review. The pastors at every location of Epikos promote unity and love of every race, and encourage we look at each other as brothers and sisters equally in God's eyes. I grew up in a Lutheran church, and visited many different churches of different denominations (like Baptist, Pentecostal, etc), and not one single church ever made me feel like I was home or helped me learn about God without personal bias or agenda until I came to Epikos. I came on the grand opening and continued to attend for years because it's just a wonderful church community who's ONLY objective is to teach God's word straight from the bible word for word, without human-based opinion, bias or agenda. There are no wealthy pastors here who make a killing off of profit, because there is no monetary profit. There is only spiritual growth with God. I pray for that man who gave the bad review, because he let his emotions cloud what pastor Danny was saying and it blocked out his real message of unity of ALL people who are ALL God's children. Pastor Paul has always stopped to listen to my thoughts, he helped me find the strength to leave an abusive relationship and tomorrow he is going to help my family and friends say goodbye to my brother, who is the 3rd sibling I've lost. I cant say enough good things about this church. If you cant make it to the service, you can listen to their podcasts. They will never badger you for money or look down on you if you're not wearing fancy church clothes or haven't brushed your hair or dont have money for offering. The only thing this church and it's pastors care about is teaching you about God's love and word, and preparing your soul for Heaven. I absolutely reccomend everyone give this church a visit no matter if you're not even sure you believe in God or not yet. You wont regret it.

I love my Epikos church. I've been a member for over 4 years. All the pastor's are really nice and they preach the word so it's easy to understand. Pastor Kirk is hilarious but he's filled with the spirit. Pastor Paul is also a great teacher and pastor. They're all great men of God. I would advise anyone looking for a place to worship. Come and join us at Epikos on 63rd and Greenfield. Service on Sundays are at 9am and 11am. Promise you will not regret it. God bless.

Wow! Excellent, powerful services. Located in a historical movie theater. All updated. Just beautiful inside! No designated parking. They do have crossing guards. Last Sunday of the month a bag lunch is offered. Coffee shop located within, and next door.

Awesome church! The sermons are real and hit topics OTHER churches are afraid to tackle. One of the biggest topics was racism... I loved how they broke it down not choosing a side but rather shedding light and truth on the issue. I think sadly some people can't take the truth and prefer to be in churches that doesn't rebuke them or convict them. I love the conviction I feel in the preaching. I know they follow what the Lord puts on their hearts. This church really is good for all christians whether they are newer or older in Christ and no matter what previous title they put on themselves. Because, EPIKOS doesn't follow RELIGIOUS practices but rather BIBLICAL practices and that's where other churches are lacking.

The most important attribute about a church is if they are faithful to the gospel. Jesus Christ is central to everything at epikos.

What led my family to attend epikos (and we visited lots of churches in the area, many of which were great, but we felt God was calling us here) is the following:

1. Jesus is central to everything they do. Just like the gospel, everything points to Jesus. They make clear every week, in every sermon, that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. Jesus is glorified every week, our hope is in Christ alone. The denomination may be non-denominational, which in many people's eyes can be a red flag. Rest assured the teaching and doctrine at epikos is rock solid, it's grounded in the Bible led by pastors who put an incredible deal of effort behind the scenes to make sure the message is sound.
2. The preaching style is expository. Expect to dig deep into scripture each and every week, with a consistent message that does historical context justice, week after week. The pastors don't pick and choose passages topically, they instead pick a book, and then deep dive into that book extracting Biblical truth to equip the saints. Weve attended for years and always cross check the message with scripture, we've found nothing unbiblical about the teaching. The pastors lean on the Holy Spirit to preach the Word every week. Even though they go book by book, the teaching is extremely relevant and convicting every week, because the Bible is just that, sharper than a two edged sword piercing the soul. Thats what the preaching is like at epikos, its absolutely by the book, because the gospel is central to everything they do (point 1).
3. Community is key even though the church has a big feel. As big as epikos is, I've talked with every pastor at some point. I think every pastor has come over and said hi to us multiple times, and I've even met with the pastoral staff just to have coffee because they wanted to get to know the church better. I've submitted prayer requests and had personal private messages from the pastors themselves which is rare in a big church setting. The church is big but it feels small. It feels even tighter knit when you join a small group. Its extremely common for people at epikos to join small groups and study the Bible together in our homes, every week. People here are serious about the gospel, and it shows at this church. Everyone is beyond friendly and eager to show the love of Jesus to one another.

Overall, I can't recommend this church enough. If youre new to the area and looking for a church to call home, come and visit!
