I was here as a 17 year old patient in 2009 when it was SOASTC. I truly had a wonderful time at the facility in Merlin. I feel the program helped me out while I was in treatment at SOASTC Merlin. My time there was excellent and yes I had behavioral issues at times but I did learn a lot and it really helped me the program. I was a troubled youth that needed help. I was treated good by the staff. I really liked my therapist Shane. I truly do recommend this program. It really helped me out and I do believe that people can change from their ways. I miss the good old days at SOASTC. I have to say all the staff were awesome. I miss them all.. Jeff Moyer was funny. I miss him and everyone who use to work there. SOASTC will always be a part of me. I am now 30 years old, I always miss the good old days.

This agency does great work with families and youth. Very competent and fair Program Manager (Coastline) which makes for excellent leadership. Easy to collaborate with this agency and they are serious about service. From Day Treatment to Wraparound Facilitation, this non-profit sets the example for other agencies to rise to this level of trauma informed care.

I was in Kairos when I was younger, I was there for eight months, and during those eight months I received so much trauma from the holds they would put me in. There was many points where I had bruises on my wrist, legs, back, and neck. I highly recommend not sending you kids or family here if you have the choice.

Do not recommend. Spent almost a year here a few years back and am just now getting the strength to review. So much trauma came from this place. I was S/A by another patient, then punished for it. Treated horribly, had another patient threaten to r*pe and kill me all because an employee had a conversation with me rather than her and was still forced to stay in the room next to her. After getting off a feeding tube was told my ED isn’t real because I wasnt skinny enough by my therapist. Was given bruises during autistic burnouts and panic attacks. Was lied to and used as a lab rat as they put my on close to 30 medications in a span of 8 months. Was given anti psychotic medications for ptsd resulting in hallucinations etc. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE.

I do not recommend going to miss Patricia Shannon for marriage counseling. She has a habit of being intimate with married men. Which could be counter productive.

I have been at kairos twice and it was not helpful in my opinion yes there are some really great staff members like rick and dom and the therapist Vanessa if your child is sent here please recommend them to talk to these staff because they teach you what is right and help you threw real life struggles but out of the two times I have been at kairos it has not helped or changes me all they will do is put your kid on different medications that may not help. if your kid has anger issues I would recommend this place but if they have problems with substance abuse and drugs than kairos is not the best place For them I have seen kids leave kairos and go back to drugs and alcohol also kairos dosnt really tell your parents what is going on and the place is very stressful and most of the staff do not know how to keep other kids under control

They lie to parents and the kiddos. Lack of communication between staff parents and kids. Listen to your kids and take in to consideration what they before brushing ot off to behavioral issues like the staff would suggest.
