This is the best ribs in St. Louis! There are many people, The wait to get in was about 40 minutes. But the arrangement is reasonable and the food is served quickly! Full Rack of Ribs , Baked Beans & Sweet potato Fries. Rib meat fell right off the bone. There are 3 special sauces on the table. The soda tastes delicious! Very good! Very friendly service! I’ll be back soon!

The rib is the best. Definitely better than most bbq place. Overall meat itself did not have much spice, you need to put lots of sauce if you have a heavy taste bud. Brisket and pulled pork are below average comparing to other places, they are very lean, and blend, not to say it’s very healthy, but it’s missing something. Price is very reasonable, portion is huge, we ordered the combo platter, can feed the family two meals. Service is also good. Will only order full rack of ribs next time we come :)

Probably the most famous barbecue place in St. Louis. Really great barbecue. Ribs brisket and pulled pork were very good. Beans are very good. As are the sweet potato fries.

Barbecue sauces are amazing.

Expect a line but it moves pretty fast. Get here early or call ahead to see what they’ve run out of. They only Barbeque so much stuff and when it’s gone, it’s gone. For instance, the burnt ends were gone before 5 PM on a weekend.

If you’re in St. Louis I think it’s mandatory you get some BBQ ribs and Pappy’s was the place I went. You have to come early most of the time as it gets crowded and they run out. But it was worth it the ribs were good with or without sauce, which they had several to choose from. I got the fried cord as a side, it was good but nothing super special. Definitely would come back if I’m in town again.

We visited from Texas and Pappy's was a big reason why. It did not disappoint. Best ribs I've EVER had. We also got the burnt end sandwich, coleslaw, green beans, potato salad and fried corn. Every single thing was out of this world. Hope to visit again someday!

Oh baby... This is some BBQ!!!

Atmosphere: had this bookmarked for our first trip to ST. Louis and it did not disappoint. You order up front and pick a table. Cool laid back atmosphere, fun decorations and a ton of menus from celebs and athletes that have eaten here. We drove 20 minutes out of the airport in the opposite direction for this and it was worth it.

Food:

Full Slab Pork Ribs - Amazing.. Some of the most tender and crispy ribs we have ever eaten. This rivals the big dawgs in Texas for me.. The fact you get crispy edges and hot soft tender insides is crazy to me. We could not stop eating these. The sauce was out of this world. It's a flavor you just can't compare to. Top 5 ribs I have ever eaten easily.

Smoked Turkey - Honestly pretty average and kinda dry we didn't love this.

Sides:
Baked Beans - These are made with pork and wow the perfect sweetness and a great compliment to the ribs.

Fried Corn - This was a recommendation and boy was it a good one. This is a must get its an entire cob fried, sweet, crunchy delicious!

Sauce Tip: 4 types of sauce bottled and on every table. Our favorite was the Sweet Baby Jane. Perfect sweetness and enhanced the flavor of everything

Must have: Ribs, this is what they do..

Drinks:
Standard fountain drinks, their sweet tea was especially good.

Price:
Around $40.00 for 2 of us and worth every penny.

Parking:
lot in the back with what seems like plenty of parking.

Service:
Very nice cashier and the staff delivers and picks up your plates.

Amazing BBQ that we will remember and compare to in the future.

Probably don’t have to tell you this but Pappy’s is world renowned. I’ve been here a few times. This time I got the pulled pork and the beef brisket along with spicy pickles. Coleslaw and baked beans.

Another incredible meal. My favorite was the pulled pork. It had a ton of flavor and a little bit of kick to it, probably because I used a little bit of the hoodoo sauce. Brisket was excellent… tender… full of flavor. Nice surprise where the baked beans they were the best baked beans I’ve ever had. Delicious, a bit peppery and I loved them.

We would come back and eat here again, and again, and again.

We went on a Saturday morning, about 1130am, the wait to get in was about 40 minutes, which isn't too bad compared to some spots.

I've eaten a lot of BBQ, and smoke meats myself. This place is really good for ribs, but the brisket was about average, maybe a bit above. This might be because we received only lean meat from the flat and no fatty meat from the point (to be fair, I did not specify what I wanted at the register), which is more flavorful. Or it could have just been an off day, smoking meats is a science and will not come out identical every time.

Anyway, the prices were reasonable, and there is plenty of seating inside, and some more outside if the weather permits. I really enjoyed the sauces they have available as well. So much so that I bought some to take home with me. I'd also like to add that the cookie they sell for $2 was awesome.

I don't think you would regret making a trip here, we definitely did not.

Pappy's Smokehouse truly impressed me with their amazing burnt ends – they were simply incredible! Their sides are fantastic too, especially the beans which are a must-try. There was about a 25-minute wait for lunch during my weekend visit, but it was absolutely worth it. I'm already looking forward to going back!

Pappy’s Smokehouse has some of the greatest BBQ that you can get anywhere, period. I’ve been to Texas and Tennessee, and while it’s great there too, this is something on another level. The flavors are so rich without being too much of anything. It’s all balanced perfectly with the smoky and tender meats.

They have lots of great options for trying multiple meats which I highly recommend. Above all, the ribs are hands down the best ribs I’ve ever encountered in my life. The meat falls off the bone and has a depth of flavor which is unparalleled. I’ve also enjoyed the burnt ends, pulled pork, and sliced brisket. The sides are all high quality, but for me, nothing is better than their sweet potato fries and fried corn. On the table there are 4 different BBQ sauces that all enhance the flavor if you do it right. I love the hoodoo sauce which is reminiscent of a jerk sauce. They also have have Fitz’s sodas available which enhance anything you’re going to eat here. I wish they’d do a root beer BBQ sauce collab someday.

As you enter the building, the smell of the sweet and smoky BBQ flavors hit your nostrils and there’s no going back. There are 5 large smokers along the front of the building which are constantly in use and impressive. The restaurant itself is always clean and the employees are so incredibly polite and helpful even during the busiest times. It can get very busy, but there’s never a problem getting a table. You might have a bit of a wait depending on when you go. If you go later in the day, don’t be surprised if certain meats are sold out. That’s the price to pay when the food is this fresh and this high quality. This is required eating for any carnivores, but especially if you’re visiting and only have a few meals to chose from. You wont regret it!

This place was recommended by one of the locals, and it did NOT disappoint. I had the burnt ends,
and they were so DELICIOUS. I would highly recommend this place, and specifically….the burnt ends. I attempted to return the next day, but I called first and they were already sold out of the burnt ends. The atmosphere was very chill and casual. The customer service was excellent. There were a variety of flavorful BBQ sauce at each table. I sampled the ribs, and they were delicious also, but the burnt ends steal the show. 10/10. I highly recommend. I will definitely go back to Pappy’s the next time that I’m in the area.

When a Texas girl eats barbecue… in St. Louis- this is where she goes.
Known for their pork ribs - “Best in America”.
Of course, there’s a wait.
Of course, they sell out of food.
Nothing any worse than Texas joints.
We were surprised, however, that the sides were so good—coleslaw, fire and ice pickles, baked beans and potato salad. We didn’t have leftovers of anything!
Pulled pork, brisket and burnt ends were different from Texas—but still really good.
I liked all four sauce flavors. Nothing was too spicy (for me).
They put the sweet in sweet tea—it was perfect.
Well oiled machine. They’ve perfected the art of taking orders and getting diners seated. They allow the kitchen to get caught up with orders. They keep visitors pre-occupied while in line.
Merchandise available to buy.
Outdoor seating available.
They’ve also opened up a hot chicken sandwich place next door.
All the locals told us go here and I’m glad we listened.

The food was delicious. Rib meat fell right off the bone,
the brisket was tender and flavorful, the bbq beans and cole slaw were incredible as well. Eat here if you get the chance. It's well worth it!!!!

This place has a reputation for having the best ribs in St. Louis (and maybe the world), and I think that reputation is well-deserved. The ribs were so tender they were falling off the bone and tasted amazing. The sides were good too, but obviously the ribs were the star. They have a really efficient system, so even though the line can get long it moves pretty quickly. If you’re looking to save money, a full rack of ribs with 2 sides can feed 2 people quite well.

AMAZING BBQ!!! Best one I have ever had in USA so far. There was a long line but moved fast, 20min. They ran out of burn ends, so we need to come back!

Just rib heaven..... Burnt ends are sweet. Not my favorite flavor profile for beef but very tasty for the style. Try the Fire and Ice pickles with your meal. Be ready to wait but worth it!

We showed up about 1 and it took us about 30 minutes to get in but once we did we had our food in less then 5 minutes! We had a 1/2 order of ribs that were amazing! I see why they are the best in America by food network. They don’t even need sauce! We also had the chicken. Being a chicken lover I was not disappointed so flavorful and NOT dry at all. The brisket was ok not bad but being from Texas it was not my kind of brisket, it was lean and needed sauce for flavor but not bad… just not Texas brisket. Everyone was sooo kind we greatly enjoyed this place!

The best bbq restaurant in St. Louis. We’ve been to this place several times yet this was our first time successfully getting a table. Undoubtably, their food was awesome. We tried the full pork ribs, burnt ends and pork. The ribs were soft and juicy. We also love their sides. I recommend the corn and sweet potato fries. We also tried all of their bbq sauces, they were all great with the meats.

Oh the ribs! Perfect, tender, perfectly grilled. The fried corn is to die for. Took 2 back to the hotel. Great baked beans and potato salad. Must have a Fitz Rootbeer as you are in St. Louis. Easy to miss building. We are brisket eaters, and sadly don’t care for their think sliced brisket. Doesn’t matter. Have ribs. Almost all menu items are gluten free. Be sure to verify. Enjoy the best ribs in Missouri. *This restaurant is is down town. We went at 5 on game night and everything was great. As always, check your surrounding.
