Blue Market AK

I heard Blue Market won the prestigious Golden Carrot award so investigated today. It was a real education and the staff were wonderful. It's the kind of shop that makes Spenard a special place.

We love this place so much! We go often and have a membership. Love being able to shop local and buy low waste products. Bonus points that my food is all stored in pretty containers that I'm able to fill up there.

My son has become interested in reducing plastic waste and Blue Market was a great place for a field trip. The main staff person was super nice and gave him a tour to talk about all the ways that our family could reduce waste. I gave my phone to my son to take pictures for "ideas" so he took a lot. We walked away with several products, including scones, toothpaste tablets, fresh pasta and maple syrup. Our only complaint was that the ginger beer on tap wasn't strong enough, needed more bite.

This place just keeps getting better. They've really upped their stock, especially with locally produced foods, I can do a good portion of my shopping here plastic/waste-free! They focus on high quality products. It is more expensive than Costco, etc. but there are opportunities to save a little, like bringing your own egg carton and buying loose eggs, which saves you $0.60 on a dozen. I'd love to see ways to make it more affordable for lower income people. Maybe there already are.

What a fabulous shop! I can support local businesses, and it is an easy way to reduce my footprint. They have wonderful products. Blue Market even ordered my favorite laundry soap for me, saving me money.

Loved going into a store I haven't heard of yet. Friendly staff and owners! Love what they believe in and they carry PAM CARROTS. The best carrots Alaska has to offer. Local honey and Alaskan made condition. Ill definitely be back.

I try to stop here before going to a larger store as they have local produce, veggies, grains, tea, meat, eggs and milk; bulk items with free glass jars; and a good selection of household items for kitchen and bath. Also a tasty little assortment of baked goods, cheeses, and espresso.

Always a treat to shop here. Alaskan made products abound! Things you would never find elsewhere. Even have a Denali Dreams display, my fav. Love the bulk buying opportunities. Really creative store.

Best kept secret in town. The service is amazing, bring your own plastic to refill or glass jars they also have them if you forgot them at home. Everything is reasonably priced. The Atmosphere is warm and welcoming and almost cottagecore. Natural pantry who?

My first time here was amazing. The employees were super nice and helpful. I got laundry soap, toothpaste, and a dyer ball. There were so many items to choose from. Will definitely be coming again soon.

An excellent addition to our community, they will soon be selling foodstuffs along with their low waste / organic soaps and local Alaska Made products. Expect a non-typical retail experience which harks back to how grocery stores were 70 years ago, with the service and conversation that makes that so special and a wonder to find.

Great selection of bulk items from food to household products and much more. They have plenty of empty containers you can use if you don't have any! The staff is very helpful to make sure you get what you need successfully.

This place needs more credit!!! They are an eco-friendly grocery store. Bring your glass jars and fill up on shampoo and conditioner. Fresh bread, spices, and product. 100% worth your time!!!

We love Blue market AK and are so happy to have it in Anchorage. Great people, great products. Helping us to reduce our waste but still enjoy delicious and high quality products.

This place is one of a kind. The owners and staff are unbelievably kind and caring. It's such a unique spot.
