Mashita

Great food with a Asian fusion menu. Food was as delicious as it was unique, and was served extremely fresh. Staff was super helpful with recommendations and through the meal. The buns were one of my personal favorites, but I would reorder everything plus a few new things, which I intend to do next time I am in the area. Definitely a must try in Harrisonburg!

The pork belly is divine 😌 The menu is creative, well executed, and absolutely delicious. We enjoyed dining on the patio which is donned in beautiful murals and street art, covered, and spacious. The waitstaff were incredibly kind and very knowledgeable about the menu. We can’t wait to go back!

Amazing food! I see why they made a whole restaurant after having a food truck. And for reasonable prices as well. We tried the squash special, steam buns, and fried dumplings. Only complaint is that we wish the servings were bigger so we could eat more! The carrot sake cocktail was delicious as well! Sweetened soy sauce paired excellent with the dumplings. Definitely the brisket also!

I didn't know pork could taste so good... Amazing food here! Pork belly and brisket are to die for! Good atmosphere and clean surroundings. Staff were very nice and helpful as well. Please don't pass up an opportunity to eat here. We got the kimchi fries, beef kimbap, and buns sampler- braised pork, brisket, and pork belly. 10/10 wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often.

Mashita was absolutely amazing! We got the following in the pictures to share and were full after finishing it. The buns were so soft, and everything was a total flavor explosion! The sweet and spicy sauce is that good. A total hack is buying takeout and walking down to Sage Bird for a drink. We’ll be back soon!

Update: We went back for dine-in and had an incredible experience of trying new food. The special salad was amazing, and the staff was very friendly and professional.

Absolutely exceptional, they should make a 9 buns sampler because they're just too good!
I also tried the bibimbap with beef bulgogi and it was delicious, tried it with all three sauces and the Mashita sauce was my favorite. I would def come here again 10/10

I went a couple days ago and enjoyed my overall experience. The food was delicious I got a bibimbap, the steam bun sample, and Spicy rice cake. My boyfriend got the chicken katsu and enjoyed his meal as well. But the highlight of the evening was our server Jen. She was very attentive and friendly, making sure to check on us throughout our meal. I will definitely be coming back awesome food and service.

Highly recommend!!! I’ve been a fan of Mashita Food Truck since its inception, and today I finally got to try the brick & mortar restaurant! The food was delicious, of course—steamed buns are my fave—and it’s so nice inside! There are amazing murals are different walls as well as art from local artists. Service was great and the owner/chef is awesome. I really can’t wait to go back and try more dishes!!

Visited several times and has been delicious every time. Great place for a date night, has indoor and outdoor dining as well as take out. Steamed buns are yummy, basically fluffy tacos, and the fried bao rounds for dessert were amazing! 5 stars and we'll be back again soon.

SO GOOD!!! hidden gem in harrisonburg honestly. I love how the food felt clean + good to eat and the quality of the ingredients / dishes. I will 10000% be back soon! I got the chicken bulgolgi bibimbap & pork steamed bun!

I highly encourage people to check out this restaurant. The good and wait staff is amazing…my only complaint was the bartender on duty..he was EXTREMELY rude to his teammates and made myself and several other guest uncomfortable with his attitude and yelling. I understand it being a long day and the end of dinner service…but his attitude was unfair to his teammates and unprofessional for guests. If I return and he’s working I will be getting takeout

What a great place!! We found them online when we're planning a visit to VA.
Food was so amazing, service was great, fantastic vegan choices. We met the chef/ owner too, super cool guy with a passion for what he does! Started as a food truck, grew into a restaurant and is now expanding. Best of luck to the Mashita and staff. We will definitely be back!

Yesterday (3-11-21) was somehow my first time trying Mashita considering the amount of time that I spend in Harrisonburg. We were luckily able to sit outside on a beautiful day. I had the Korean burrito with pork belly and black beans added (delicious with their spicy sweet & sour sauce) and the side salad with an in-house ginger sesame vinaigrette that they bring you an entire squeeze bottle of, which is necessary, because for a side salad, it's substantial as you'll be able to see in the photos uploaded with this review. I also ordered the seasonal blistered Brussel sprouts (to share with my table) that were served covered in a a scallion aioli and sesame soy glaze. My lunch partner had the Bibimbap with beef Bulgogi that I sampled and was also delicious. I shall return in the near future.

Celebrating a friends birthday. We have all been here before and thoroughly enjoyed the visit and decided to come back. We had a variety of dishes /appetizers that we split among us. Everything is YUMMY, YUMMY!!! Thank you Mary Paige!!! You helped with some dietary changes and so so pleasant. You are a KEEPER! Hope you can serve us on our next visit.

I love this Place!! Those Kimchi Fries are soooo delicious!! Great environment, the vibe is always positive, great food, and i get to play on the arcade while i wait!! (Its never a long wait). Taylor is always kind and respectful, always great conversation!! Definitely coming back!!

Heard about Mashita from the JMU newsletter as they were recognizing the alum owner. So, yesterday we went there as a group for our friends birthday. And it was amazing. The Bibimbap was very aesthetically pleasing, delicious, fresh and so filling and l added a chicken protein. The Katsu was another favorite and so delicious and fresh. The chicken was crispy on the outside and so tender and well spiced on the inside, it just melted on your mouth.
One thing though, when you go there make sure you are hungry, give your tummy a chance to experience goodness in Harrisonburg.

Mashita catered our 150 person wedding reception with buffet-style service. A number of guests told us it was the best food they’d ever had at a wedding. One guest returned for a 5th serving and another (who’s gluten free) said she’s never eaten so well at a wedding. Mashita staff were responsive and helpful throughout the event and the planning process. They handled the buffet setup, serving, and clean-up with ease. Would highly recommend their catering for future events.

Chef Mikey and the Mashita crew is knocking it out of the park. Not only is it the best Korean food in the burg, they create some of the best dishes in town. If you've never been try the steamed buns and come back for more!
