Hands down, one of the best zoo/aquarium experiences I've ever had. Cam and Sierra were amazing and I highly recommend asking for them when you visit. We got the Epic Quest package and it was well worth the money. We had such an amazing time feeding and petting all the animals as well as learning all about them from Cam. The 3 hours went by so fast and our family is still talking about all cool and fun things they saw and did.

This was an awesome experience! Interactive and fun. Some of the animals get to roam around like a giant tortoise, pot belly pigs, etc. If you get tokens, you can feed the porcupines, capybara, toucans, otters and other various animals inside their habitat. It truly is a fun interactive experience.

The place was nice and had a lot of places where you can pay to feed the animals or interact with them. It is kinda small and took us about 1.5 hours to complete. It can get expensive if you pay of all of the extra activities. The staff was friendly, and I learned a lot about the parakeets. Great place for a date. Lots of good spots for selfies.

Fun, family friendly aquarium/petting zoo. You can pretty much pet all the animals in there or feed them. We fed piranha, wallabies, stingrays and more.
They have these gumball machines with animal food in it
My daughter chose this place for her birthday and got to feed and pet stingrays. It was an amazing experience. It’s right inside of ridge river mall so that was a surprise, so afterwards, we were able to grab a bite and hang out after our adventure. Highly recommend. The people who work there truly care about animals and are very educational.

We visited recently because this place had one thing we were looking for, a capybara. Not only do they have one, you can interact with him. (His name is Oliver btw). He let the kids in our group feed and rub his belly. They were blown away. I was very impressed with the exhibits. There were many more animals here than I was expecting. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and they accommodated every request we had. Next time we are in the area, we will return.

We had great time here! Staffs are very friendly. The only thing we don’t like is that the cats room are pricey but the cats are not in good mood. We had to rush out…

The annual pass is a great deal if you live nearby and visit regularly like we do. If you only plan to visit once, it might not be worthwhile. I absolutely love the capybaras; they are so chill. We also enjoy it when the animals are taken out for walks and we can pet them. However, I don't recommend the special interactions with otters, where all you do is throw food at them. I got to experience this interaction for free on my birthday, but I believe it's definitely not worth paying the fee if you don't have an annual pass.
We try to only go during a weekday because the line is usually long at weekends.

I recently had the chance to visit SeaQuest in Lynchburg, VA, and what an experience it was! From the moment you walk in, you’re transported to a different world, filled with the sights and sounds of exotic creatures from across the globe.

The aquarium is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Their staff members were knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the animals in their care. One of the highlights for me was the interactive touch pools where I could gently touch starfish and rays. It’s not just about looking; you can really engage with these incredible animals.

For families, this place is a gem. My kids couldn’t get enough of feeding the birds and the lorikeets. There’s even an opportunity to snorkel with stingrays, which was an unforgettable experience.

One thing that really impressed me was SeaQuest’s commitment to education and conservation. Through informative displays and interactive exhibits, visitors gain a deeper understanding of various ecosystems, which I found both enlightening and empowering.

The only downside was that it was a bit crowded, but that’s to be expected given its popularity. The ticket prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality and breadth of the experience.

Overall, SeaQuest is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon, offering both entertainment and educational value. I highly recommend it for families, animal lovers, and anyone looking to have a unique, hands-on experience with nature.

I hope this review gives you an idea of what a visit to SeaQuest might be like!

This is a fantastic place for all ages. Lynchburg is blessed to have this available. Places this nice are typically only in large cities. We were pleasantly surprised at the size, quality, and wide array of animals. Plan to send a few hours and take a lot of pictures. Bring your family and invite your friends.

Lots of fun! There are a lot of exhibits you can go in, but if you want to feed the animals you need tokens, and for some (like going into the Savannah Cat exhibit and petting it) you not only need tokens but also a mask to help protect the animals. Definitely lots of fun for every age. It's self paced so you can go as fast or slow as you want, and there are places inside to sit, get snacks, and restrooms. As long as you're respectful of the animals and listen to the staff you're sure to have a fun time! A bonus is that this place is connected to the mall so you can exit to the food court for lunch and then go back in since your tickets are good for all day!

Everyone was so kind to us with amazing opportunities like feeding birds and petting capybaras (which are much larger than expected) it was beautifully decorated and themed, and we had an excellent time.

We drove from Charlottesville to Lynchburg to visit the sea and land animals that they have. It was well worth the drive, and we spent several hours there and at the River Ridge Mall that it resides in.

This is a great place for kids to see, touch, and hear if they choose to. Plenty of pictures were taken of the fun. The staff there also helped make this an enjoyable trip.

Very cool!! My mom and I took my two girls (8&7). They absolutely loved it! Plenty of stuff in the gift shop. We also scheduled for the Snorkel with Stingrays. They were a little iffy about it at first..but they loved it. The woman that got in the tank with them..was ultra nice. My girls kind of stuck by her for the most part. But she didn't mind at all.
The animal enclosures were nice and clean. The staff was awesome. Bathrooms and other areas were clean. Plenty of animals to look at. Variety of fish.
I, honestly, can't think of any bad things to say about it!
It's about 1.5 hours away from our home.. but definitely a lot closer than the beach!! We will be going back 😊

Had a really fun time here. Went during a weekday. It was not crowded at all and we got to spend likely more time with the animals had it been busier. Toucans, savannah cats, kookaburra, reptiles, ball pythons, koi, stingrays, and more!! For a smaller place it’s packed out! For extra time with the animals to feed them it’s $2 a token. Worth it for the ones you want to see. Great place for kids to have fun interacting with animals and learn about the threats their wild habits face. We share this world.

Such a fun adventure! The employees answered so many questions for us. We enjoyed getting to feed and pet several animals. Animals appear healthy and well-cared for, enclosures are clean and maintained.

I don't normally grant 5 stars for any review, but SeaQuest Lynchburg deserves them. The series of exhibits were full of fish and animals of all kinds, including capybaras and pigs, yet there was not the first offensive odor to be found. All the aquariums and animal compounds are incredibly clean. The animals, both aquatic and terrestrial, were healthy and happy looking. The rays actually want to be petted, mobbing any human approaching them. My son, almost 3 years of age, had the time of his life. I can't recommend SeaQuest more highly. The price is right, and the mall where it's is located is also first rate with good food. It's a fantastic place for children of all ages.

Im gonna admit I was wary of what to expect of animal treatment after seeing what happened in other states that have seaquest, I was avidly looking at animal habitats, behavior, and looking if i see anything wrong with them or their habitat too.
With that being said, THIS Seaquest? Super good.
Tank water is clean, even if you go diving you shower before getting in, and animals boundries are respected in the tank, you are told ahead of time, where sharks etc go when they dont want to be around people and theres a zero tolerence for invading that. Animals, super friendly and workers respect when they dont feel up to interactions and allow the animal there space. I even had a worker give time to a bird before we interacted with the porcupine because she knew the bird would get jealous.
They truly truly love these animals deeply and it shows.
They stay ontop of saftey for people and animals and make sure theres no room for error, they do their absolute best to educate on animals to vistors.
Habitats are clean, spacious and everything they need is there, not like alot of places ive seen they actually give the animals room to move, and give them stimulating stuff, special lights etc. Animals are well fed and seem super happy which is important to me because i know so many animals usually get neglected in interactive spaces.
There are so many cute photo spots,
you have two lovley birds greet you right as you walk in.
I came here thinking i wouldnt be able to do all the interactions i wanted to do, and i got to do all except one, which was the otters and the ONLY reason i couldnt is because they are currently under vet care.
Which is important that they are closed off.
you can still see outside the cage but not allowed in and i commend that.
I came with low expectations and they surpassed them.
It being in a mall i wasnt expecting it to be as kept up as it was and i just want to commend the workers for what they do.
Their job isnt easy and they deserve so much praise.
Only one employee was kind of rude, but i totally get that she couldve been having a bad day and exhausted lol so i wouldnt hold too much weight on that.
Everyone else was super nice and supportive and informative and ready to help and work around things and give help as needed for several things.
Seaquest is beautiful and truly gives me hope for some interactive exhibits. Seeing the passion and love the workers have for the animals warmed my heart.
Totally worth the 2 hour trip there, thank you.

SeaQuest is one of Lynchburg's hidden gems. While not overly large, the facility holds quite a few animals and has plenty of interaction opportunities for all ages. We have been bringing my daughter since she was 6 months old; it has been so fun to watch her engagement change over the last year. We can't wait until she is old enough to take advantage of some of the more "hands-on" exhibits. The season passes are very affordable and allow you the chance to bring guests for very cheap - great for the kiddos who want to bring their pals! We recommend going early in the day if you have younger children. It can get quite loud and a little overstimulating as the day progresses.
