The Colonial Restaurant

Ashton took excellent care of us tonight. She was very attentive. We have driven by this place many, many times, and every time my husband and I say we really need to go there. We really just thought it would be country cooking ordinary fare food. Boy, we were wrong! Reasonably priced, delicious food ( get the pretzel bites) beautifully decorated. We were impressed! I immediately text my family and my uncle said that he eats here quite often. BTW we live in Danville. To travel 45 minutes to a restaurant says something.

I came here a lot when I was younger. The renovation turned out nice. It was busy for Father's Day but our wait was not long at all. Service was prompt and good, food did not take long at all. Overall enjoyable experience.

All the food was cooked perfectly. The only thing I would change is the mac, it needed to be a little more creamier. You definitely get a good size portion.

Exceptional service! Even though they are busy, you don't wait long. Waitress staff was top notch and very attentive. Food was great, except for the broccoli and green beans we ordered. They tasted frozen/canned with no seasoning. Everything else was very delicious! Prices were reasonable too.

If you are looking for down home good cooking and I do mean GOOD. Look no further. This is the best food I've had in a long time. My BF got the hamburger steak and I got the chicken livers. Mercy me they were so good, and the rice pudding??? Wow!!!

I ate at The Colonial with my family for lunch. There was a bit of a wait, but when we got seated, our waitress was very attentive to our needs. The food was delicious. The restaurant was clean. If you are planning on eating here and there is a wait, just know that they do not have any of the technology to let you know when your tablet is ready. You have to wait outside for them to call your name(they do have a large covered porch/patio). I would highly recommend The Colonial Restaurant!

I had a delicious hamburger. It was in the top 5 ever for me. Juicy, fresh and perfectly cooked. I will absolutely be going back. I loved the colonial theme. It was a very neat restaurant and I enjoyed the art work. Excellent service!

Nice little place to grab breakfast. I would compare it to diner food. The pancakes were exceptionally good! Will come back just for those!

Delicious grilled catfish! Daughter loved the glazed pork chops. Husbands seafood platter was ok, wish they can give a grilled option and not all fried.
Please be aware that the Rotisserie Wings mean that they have the bone in. They are fried wings. Delicious but fried.

We were seated close to the entryway, as cold as it was wind blowing, brrr! Quick to serve, April was right there anything we needed and very intuitive with side suggestions. We will probably go back... Great family atmosphere!

This place is a reminder how much someone cares about their place. I really love their building, their dining room, the booths, the tables and the decor. What beautiful paintings they have on the walls. The simple menus are awesome. We ate breakfast here. It is the first time I have seen salmon cakes for breakfast. They are the best salmon cakes I have ever had. Very pleasant people that serve you. What a great start to our day.

Great service, kind, but not intrusive. My omelette included sausage onions and mushrooms and the sausage was very ample and looked like one or two sausage patties had been cut up to fill it which was definitely yummy. The biscuit tasted like it was made from scratch. My husband got the French toast. she felt like it tasted a little fried, but I tasted it and he reminded me of dunkable French toast sticks which I found delightful--it certainly depends on how you like your French toast.

On our long drive, we were so excited to find this restaurant. So much better than fast food. Our hamburgers were fresh and delicious! Staff is friendly and professional. Beautiful artwork of The West throughout the restaurant.

The nicest staff you will ever meet! And they move too. No standing around. The food is excellent. Home cooked and make sure you try one of the desserts. Breakfast is fantastic as well. Plenty of seating and outside tables available

We took our daughter out for her birthday and this is the place she picked. Very friendly service, good old fashion country cooking and fast service. We made it in just before the dinner rush and really enjoyed our meal. I even brought home salmon cakes for breakfast the next day.

Everything we ate was awesome 👌 and fresh the people are very welcoming and nice the restaurant is very clean and the art work on the walls is amazing. Well worth the money spent Everything was well worth it and great.👍

Beef tips and rice were fantastic. I also recommend trying the fried mushrooms side 🔥🔥. Location was clean, has a good ambience to it and offers top of the line service. Highly recommend!

Our server, April, was an absolute gem. She was so kind & helpful. She helped me figure out what items were gluten-free & would be safe for me to eat. (In case you also need to follow a GF diet, I was able to safely have a bison burger with sautéed onions, slice of tomato, & BBQ sauce on a bed of lettuce, French fries without the seasoning -the seasoning was questionable, so I skipped it- and dipped in Ranch dressing. There were more items, but this is all I had.)

I couldn't have it, but the rice pudding with lemon sauce was enjoyed by several members of my family. It was kind of fun to find such a variety of sides available, including peaches (canned) and rice pudding.

All of the servers we encountered were helpful & worked well together.

Great service! Probably the best burger I've had in months. The tomato slice was delicious - rich vine ripened red and super fresh. Well worth a stop if you're on 29.

Food was excellent and always is. Service is the same. The atmosphere is good but it used to have more of an old school diner feel to it and some of that is gone now. But overall a great place. Highlt recommend
