Heron Lakes Animal Hospital

Today was my first time bringing my Cavachon to Heron Lakes Animal Hospital and we had an amazing experience with God fearing Dr. Lera and his staff! They were very professional and actually love animals! The facility is very clean and is located in a great area as well!

Dr Lera is the most compassionate, caring and competent doctor that has ever taken care of my doggie. I really admire how much time, energy and knowledge he shares with one.
We have been patients of his for over 10 years now and I wouldn't change a thing. The clinic itself is amazing. It’s clean, organized and the staff is friendly. We have had two very complicated surgeries here and the outcome and recovery have been beyond favorable. 10/10 would recommend

The staff at Heron Lakes Animal Hospital are amazing 👏 overall best customer service and could not ask for more. Dr. Lera is amazing and he is very knowledgeable. I highly recommend 👌. They make you feel welcome here and treat your feline family very well and as well as other animals.

I am so thankful to have found Heron Lakes Animal Hospital! Dr. Lera is the best vet my kitty Bean could have asked for. Truly a 10/10 Vet. He is very patient and gentle with her and explains everything to assure you're on the same page. The staff is amazing, they are very loving with Bean and recognize her the moment we walk into the door. Heron Lakes Animal Hospital treats the animals the way they would there own fur baby. The day I found Bean, at only 4 weeks old, they checked her out to make sure she was okay and no injuries and then explained to me how to care for her. I haven't had a kitty before Bean, I'm so thankful they helped me and told me everything I needed to know to start off being Beans mom. If it wasn't for the front staff (Huge shout out to Bert and Nancy) I don't think I would've felt comfortable to kept my sweet kitty. 10/10 Recommend this Vet!

They were amazing!!!! First-time visit for my 12-week puppy, they welcomed her with hugs and treated her so gently. By far the BEST vet experience and I have another 8-year-old dog whom I've taken to the vet multiple times. The owner is so kind and god-fearing 🙌🏾.

Called during the weekend and Dr Lera returned the call directly. He was patient and took the time to listen and review our dog's case. Great interaction so far and looking forward to an appointment during the week.

What can I say, what a WOW first impression and experience I had with the whole office. I met with Nancy (Vet Tech) and Dr. Lera, I just adopted a 15 week old French Bulldog and wanted them to check him out and make sure he’s healthy and in good condition. Dr. Lera was VERY thorough and detailed about expectations, and the “life of a Frenchie”. He gave advice regarding nutrition, weight, and even recommendations on pet insurance which I was on the fence about. 10/10 experience and I will be coming back for his 5 month vaccinations/check up.

Dr. Lera and his staff are amazing. They were great with my dog. This was our first but definitely not our last visit. Dr Lera is very thorough, he takes time to explain everything. I’m glad I came to Heron Lakes!

Dr. Lera is extremely knowledgeable and thorough in his clinical approach to dealing with an extremely complicated case with our dog. He is also kind and compassionate, a great communicator in his plan of care and takes time to answer our “many” questions.
We came to Dr Lera for a second opinion for a surgical complication from “elsewhere”- wish we had started here from the beginning with Dr. Lera. He has the updated technology and clinical resources needed for a quality Vetinary practice. (I am a retired nurse).
We are thankful that now under Dr Lera’s skilled care, our dog is making great progress.
His techs Nancy, Bert & Essi (office manager) are amazing with our dog’s daily visits. Also both his front staff Lisa G and Lisa M are so helpful! We are grateful and appreciative of the care our fur baby is receiving.

My pet has been a patient of Dr. Lera’s at Heron Lakes Animal Hospital for 3 years and we could not be happier with the care he has received over the years. Having an English bulldog has challenges of its own, but Dr. Lera and his team have always being proactive and informative with my pet’s care and they truly treat us like family. 10/10 would recommend!

What an incredible place absolutely was treated like family that’s how it felt. My cat was treated so kindly and with such care, and I was assured she was gonna be just fine. Dr Abel Lera is an amazing vet! He provided my two little dogs with a very comprehensive initial consultation, addressing every detail.
A week later I had an emergency with one of my dogs and Dr Abel went above and beyond to help me identify the next steps.
The staff is also very helpful, kind and professional.
I highly recommend Heron Lakes Animal Hospital.

Heron lakes animal hospital is an honest place. The Dr. Is fabulous. He took his time with my family and my dog Jax. I recommend this hospital for any looking for a good honest, smart, god loving vet. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Simply the best! My friend has been telling me about this practice for months. After my first visit I understand why. My fur baby Mica immediately knew she was in good hands. Normally she shakes and avoids the Dr. but not here, she loved on him and was completely relaxed the entire visit. Dr. Lera is wonderful and so is his staff. He spent time getting to know me and Mica. Who does that anymore? He recommended solutions that were more holistic and I truly appreciated that instead of just throwing meds at my fur baby. I have passed his information on to my entire extended family and recommend Dr. Lera 100%. Imagine a Vet that truly treats your fur babies like a great pediatrician? Patient, loving, educated and calm. My only regret was not finding them sooner.

Dr. Lera and his staff have always cared for my dogs, treating them like family. His expertise and ability to give you all options is the single most important reason as to why I return year after year.

I am so happy to have found this place ! I took my dog here to have a bump checked out because I was nervous and the exam was very fast , Alejandro I believe his name was came to sit with me and let me know everything was okay. I really love how they don’t push for anesthesia which I get very weary of . They gave me a complimentary exam as well, which I do appreciate and they are going to be my new vet . Thank you guys

Dr. Lera and his staff is amazing, to say the least. From our first visit, we felt like family. The office is always so calm, welcoming, super clean and stress free which we appreciate since we have an energetic puppy. Dr. Lera is a true example of someone who goes into this field because of his love of animals, not for a nice paycheck. We just took our dog in yesterday and he went above and beyond by calling our health insurance with us to resolve some issues we've been having filing claims. He didn't end the conversation until he had confirmation everything was resolved. A doctor taking time out of his day to do this is unheard of (I would know because I worked at a doctors office for 5 years).

The entire staff team is so loving, knowledgeable and gentle with our puppy. I will also note that the reason we originally came to him was because he has A LOT of experience with English Bulldogs, so we knew our Lola would be in great hands! He never rushes us with our appointments, answers all of our questions and even checks in with us personally to see how WE are doing.

We love Dr. Lera & the team at Heron Lakes! Lola loves them too :) Come here if you want a great relationship with your Vet and somewhere you feel safe, heard and well taken care of!

Super nice experience! Dr. Abel is out of this world, very kind and patient with Cosette, did not charge for the first appt. I did not expect that! He is knowledgeable and I love his natural approach to treat concerns!

This was my first visit with Heron lakes animal hospital and they will definitely be my forever vet! They were able to see me for a same day appointment to treat my dogs UTI for an affordable price. The staff is very kind and informative and Dr. Lera is absolutely amazing ! I’ve struggled finding a Vet that I can trust has the best interest for my pet but Dr. Lera was extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and compassionate. Normally taking my pets into the vet is stressful process but this was by far the best experience I’ve ever had.
