Steven was very helpful to my father in buying his 1957 custom Thunderbird. my father didn’t intend to buy a car site unseen from across the country, but Steven made him comfortable enough with the deal, and in the end he was very happy with the car. I purchased an owners manual for a Shelby Series 1 from Stephen. He said it was new. I was hesitant about sending payment before I received the manual and had a chance to inspect the condition. I first sought out Stephen Becker several years ago to assess a 1968 Shelby GT500 I had located. I had never met him but Stephen had the reputation as the best in the business for determining the accuracy and originality of 1960’s Shelbys so I hired him. I was not disappointed.

He had to fly to see the car and he didn’t hesitate. Once he arrived, he spent a significant amount of time inspecting the car. I was able to provide a lift so he looked inside of it, all around the outside of it and finally under it. Every corner and part was examined. All the time he took notes and referred to his checklist.

When he was done, and before he left, he provided me a set of notes about the highlights and lowlights of the car so I could consider whether I wanted to pursue buying it. He then went back to Georgia and sent me a formal and detailed report. In the end, the car’s owner and I were able to come to a fair price that resulted in me knowing exactly what I was buying. My confidence in Stephen was sealed on that first car deal.

In the six years since we met, Stephen has sold me a ‘68 Shelby KR he found specifically for me. He and his team have performed mechanical and some cosmetic restoration on three cars for me and in the last year he has successfully sold two of my cars.

Having been on both sides of the deal with Stephen I can say, without reservation, he works his tail off to get an absolutely fair deal for all parties. He is also an encyclopedia of knowledge about muscle cars and Shelby’s in particular.
