Yen Ching Express

I never thought I’d eat the cashew chicken again when they closed the Good Hope location but was cautiously optimistic about trying the new location. It’s exactly as I remember it like the last 100 times I ate it! Thank You! They have a very small counter to eat at but it was a fun little space and accomplished the goal. They are clearly doing a great take-out business! If you haven’t tried it you must and get the cashew chicken! I would’ve taken pictures but I was to focused on my dinner. The guys behind the counter were amazing and friendly!

Thank you Tom and Brian for bringing the tradition of Yen Ching back to the Milwaukee area! We started enjoying the dishes that made the restaurant famous 30 years ago, and since our 26 year old daughter is getting married this April- of course we called on Yen Ching Express for the wedding shower! Tom, you told me you and Brian would make it happen and you delivered on that promise. Brian, you and Dan knocked it out of the park yesterday. We had several guests with known dietary restrictions and you accommodated those with what looked like the greatest of ease. The food was all fresh, hot and delicious, with some of the dishes even prepared on site- and the service was first class all the way! Our guests raved about the food, from those who had never tasted it before, to those who had been missing these familiar flavors for many years. With favorites like Cashew Chicken to Crab Rangoon, you made our party such a happy event. Best of all though, you made our daughter and future son-in-law the happiest! We cannot thank you enough- Yen Ching Express is a class act through and through and we wish you continued success and many more catering events in your future!

Very happy to have Yen Ching back! I grew up going to the original restaurant on Good Hope Rd. & have really missed the food since it went out of business. No one has cashew chicken like them! I'm happy to say that the food tastes just the same as it did at the restaurant. Online ordering makes pick up quick & easy!

Soooo!!! I decided to have Yen Ching again for dinner! Omgosh!! So addicting! They were like, “oh you were here earlier for lunch?” I told them, “yes, please don’t judge me. It was so good. I had to have it once again!”

I couldn’t stop thinking about it! I’m literally gonna have to look the other way when riding pass the pavilions so I don’t stop here everyday. Send help! I have zero control!

The Cashew Chickennnn omgosh!!!

I was a multi-year patron of Yen Ching and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tonight I finally had the chance to try Y. C. Express. I was apprehensive because of a few negative reviews.
I felt like the food I ordered was made by the old crew. Everything was excellent. I enjoyed the egg rolls. The hot and sour soup was terrific but didn't have the heat the original had, but it was fine.
The House Vegetable Deluxe was amazingly good. The Yen Chicked was equally wonderful. I'm I am a picky eater so welcoming Yen Ching back was a rewarding and satisfying experience. I highly recommend forgetting the on-line critics and giving Express a try on your own. I wasn't sorry and I don't think you will be either.

We had an outstanding experience today with the food from Yen Ching!
From the warm greeting upon walking in to the easy ordering customized for us.
The sizzling rice soup was just as I remembered it loaded with chicken and veggies.
The Yen Ching chicken was fragrant and perfectly spiced….a true highlight!
The chicken Lo Mein was filled to the brim with velvety chicken and vegetables
All in all I would highly recommend Yen Ching to all who want a truly memorable meal!

Food was excellent. Mongolian beef and the sweet and sour chicken tastes great like the old location. However the egg rolls are not the same, but they were still good. Order was ready on time. Will definitely be back again.

We used to go to the original yen Ching for both dine in and take it. Our whole family loved it. We got so excited when we read the article that they would be reopening a new place with the old favorites. The cashew chicken, egg drop soup, egg rolls, and crab Rangoon, and hot sauce was 100% worth waiting over 10 years for the families return.

We will be ordering again! It was busy on opening day, as expected, since many loved the original. Even with opening day chaos everything was amazing both food and service.

The original recipe for the cashew chicken and the crab rangoon. By far my favorite thing and they’re BACK! The smell walking into the restaurant brought me back to when the original family owned it on Good Hope. Also the son which opened it up brought me back to when I saw him more than I’d like to admit when I’d eat there a few times a month. Well worth the wait, not worth sweating it taking longer due to them being so busy, and I’d walk there if I had to get the food. Congratulations on opening up with the magic that you had in the past and the great tasting food we all remember!

Had the House Vegetable Deluxe with added chicken, very fresh and tasty. No pre-cooked sitting in trays Chinese food, but freshly made. Very impressed.

The person taking the order was very polite and helpful. The food was hot and tasty. The quality seems better than some other places we have tried. Everything was ready on time. Yen Ching is a great addition to Mequon take out options. Highly recommended.

The food was delicious. The recipes were just like the old Yen Ching! Had the cashew chicken and was outstanding. The service was great even under the busy conditions. Congrats to the Wang family!

This is a family favorite. Same great quality as the original establishment. It's place a 2nd order lately as I think the demand is much higher than anticipated. I'm relieved that there are vegetarian and toddler friendly options. My husband remembers his favorite cashew chicken dish having more sauce and larger portions at the original location.

We ordered online for 6pm pickup and the food was waiting for us when we showed up. It was delicious and just as we remember from the original Yen Ching days. We got cashew chicken, kung pao chicken, and chicken egg rolls. If I could give more than five stars for the ease of online ordering and pickup plus how good the food is, I would!! New staple for us for sure.

I missed Ching Hwa so much. After researching I discovered that Yen Ching was a sister restaurant. The cashew chicken is back!! I am so happy I found Yen Ching!!

So excited for the return of a longtime favorite restaurant - that does not happen very often! Ordered cashew chicken, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, crab rangoon, and sizzling rice soup (where else can you get that?). None of it disappointed and I would recommend all of them! Rice was soft and not overcooked. Fresh, quality food and super easy parking since its located in the Mequon Pavillions. They do look like they have been SLAMMED by orders, so its not easy to get through on the phone. Best advice is to walk in, place your order, and then go shopping in the Mequon Pavillions! Worth the wait...

I ordered crab rangoon, cashew chicken, black pepper beef, beef lo mein and sizzling rice soup. The crab rangoon was absolutely delicious. The cashew chickens sauce is amazing. The black pepper beef and beef lo mein were tender and full of flavor. I ordered right when they opened for dinner and the food was ready when I arrived. I like the text message alerts they send when your order is ready.

I ordered the Mongolian beef and the crab rangoons. The quality of the beef is the best I’ve had out of any Chinese restaurant in the area - and I’ve been to quite a few. The meat is cut thinly and is really quite flavorful. It also doesn’t suffer from having that strange, spongey, overly-tenderized texture that is present in the meat at some other Chinese restaurants. The sauce is fragrant, and the green and white onions are crisp and fresh.

The rangoons are good, as well. There’s surimi and a mix of vegetables inside, which give the filling a nice flavor.

I’ll definitely be going back.

Glad Yen Ching is back! Just as I remembered. Fresh ingredients, the best! You have to get crab rangoon, cashew chicken, and Mongolian beef!! Service is great!
