Classic NC barbecue joint serving it up Lexington style. Sandwiches are served with "dip" and vinegar slaw, the way God intended. We we're greeted warmly even though we got there thirty minutes before closing on a Sunday, "Y'all got plenty of time." Hushpuppies were fresh and came with pleasant conversation.

We stopped in because of the history but will come back because of the nice folks and the NC BBQ perfection.

I "discovered" Richard's one day, when I walked that way--and decided I was hungry.😁. The place has an immediate appeal--it's wide open, friendly, welcoming.
The barbecue is delicious. You can see the cooks, busy doing their magic. They're a friendly bunch, as are the staff.
What gets my mouth watering are the fried pickles. Warning:. those are addictive! One bite's all it took to get me hooked on them. I could make a meal on that alone!!(Really.)
I'm glad this place is in downtown Salisbury. The people who work around there have a great option for lunch, if they're not brown-bagging it.
I don't go there often enough. That doesn't mean I don't think about them

I enjoyed my meal, I had a hamburger w/grilled onions French fries. I didn't care much for the sweet tea, but the food was very good and the older lady who took my order was the sweetest.

Ignore the bad reviews. This is a wonderful family owned southern BBQ restaurant. Yes, the building is older, and the sauce is vinegar based. Why? It's Eastern Carolina style. The meat here has a wonderful smoked flavor, pit cooked on-site . The pork chopped tray is superb, with tomato slaw and the best hush puppies you will ever wrap your mouth around. Everyone I bring here raves about it! Cash only, but they have an ATM. Truly down home style. Yum!!!

Love this place, grew up going as a kid and the food is still wonderful.

Been going there for a long time. Mocksville is the best place to be. And you can sit outside and enjoy your ice cream or food. So peaceful. Good people, good food & good atmosphere. I pray it stays this way. Peaceful and family friendly.

Absolutely the best BBQ I have ever had. Have been enjoying eating this BBQ for almost 40 years and is truly awesome every time I have had it. His vinegar based pork BBQ and slaw are truly unique and delicious Richard is a true BBQ Pit Master

Richard's has excellent BBQ. The Que has a "kick" to it with a good hickory/savory taste. I always look forward to eating at Richard's because I can count on a great meal. The service is fast and friendly and Richard always makes his customers feel welcome and appreciated.

Great Breakfast, awesome prices, and wonderfully nice staff. Can't wait to go back again to enjoy some good food. Thank you guys.... We deff need more places in town like this....

Day shift was sort of rushed. I could tell the waitress was used to the elderly. But the night shift is on point!! Friendly fun and professional. The girls didnt judge us by the way we were dressed (just got off road crew) they treated us like they actually cared what we were saying and it wasnt just small talk to get a good tip. The food is amazing anytime!!! Try the mini corndog things and their hush puppies are mouth watering ;)

The BBQ plate was absolutely delicious. Richard came over to our table to greet us and thank us for stopping in. The waitresses were very helpful and super friendly.

Been going to Richard's since I was a little girl. Their food is very good. We enjoy the bbq, slaw, chicken, mac and cheese and there banana pudding, while expensive, is very good.

Richard Monroe has been cooking BBQ since the 70"s (T&F BBQ ) that's a lot of pit experience, and the food reflects his time served in the kitchen. The BBQ is always good ,it takes me back to the days of Council Street and T&F . I recommend Richards because it has the best BBQ in Salisbury and Rowan area. I hope he stays in business for many more years. Thanks for making Salisbury a better place.

Stand out feature is the great smokey flavor to the meat. Prices seem a little bit higher than College and Hendrix, slaw is not as sweet, but quality of food is just as good if not better (depending on your taste preferences) and the variety of food options is more than College and Hendrix.

I had pulled pork plate with 2 sides and a drink last time i was here .wow damn.good and people are so nice . So this time i had the 1/2 bbq chicken plate with 2 sides Mac n cheese and fries and large mt dew . Damn good . Again super friendly staff

The very best BBQ chicken you will ever eat. This family owned business is great and they have a great staff of people working for them. Very friendly, great food and good prices!

Richard's Bar-B-Que hickory wood barbecue has the true old fashion smoke house flavor. I enjoy eating several BBQ sandwiches a week, and their biscuit burgers are just plain 'delicious' and can only be found at Richard's?Please eat here........ you won't be disappointed. David Harrison

I love this place. Richards is one of the best family owned restaurants in the city. I'm always satisfied when I leave here. That means alot👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. Great food 🥘 great employees.
