Maritime Market

It is very convenient and the staff is friendly. When we vacation on BHI, I am certain members of our group are there at least once a day! There is a variety of choices (they even carry "Stadium Mustard" - a staple in many NE Ohio homes!). Sure, prices are a few dollars more than you would be paying at mainland stores, but really that shouldn't be too much of a shocker; if you have forgotten something in the supplies you brought, you're going to be happy the market is there, regardless.

Great local store. Has all the groceries you would ever need, although a bit pricey.

Cafe inside is great. We got breakfast for our whole crew to bring back to our house. The staff and food was fantastic. Great staple of the island.

If you are staying on Bald Head and you need provisions, this is it. But it's got an amazing selection considering how small it is. Some very fancy offerings along with comfort food classics. Huge wine selection.

Great selection on the island and reasonable prices. Found all of our needed groceries/items for a week+ long stay on the island.

Oh!! What a fun grocery store! So many choices and a wide selection of items! There is always a great cafe serving breakfast and lunch. There’s outside seating!

This is the cutest little market! Their prices as you would expect, being on an island, are high but overall not too bad. They have a nice selection of wines and produce. They also have a cute little souvenir shop where you can buy everything Bald Head. The two fast food eateries adjacent are excellent and well priced.

The only grocery store on Bald Head Island. It was really well stocked, but expect to pay more as everything has to be brought to the island on a ferry that increases price.

This store is wonderful. We have been coming here for many years and watched the island And the store grow. Our family looks forward to and enjoys breakfast and lunch at the market. You can’t beat the pick 3! And they always have what we need. Claude is always around to say hello and is so pleasant.

Great selection of things you expect in a grocery store with lots of nice gourmet items and wine selection.

This is a great little market. They have a great selection of the basics mixed in with some local favorites. They also have a nice beer and wine selection. Every time we go to BHI we love spending some time in the market. Just be prepared to pay a little more... it’s not cheap.

Not a large place but seem to have some of everything. Butcher shop is amazing. All of the food you buy there for cooking in your kitchen always is high quality. Plus there is also a grill and the food they serve you is excellent and in large quantity, as well as low priced. Recommend highly!!

This grocery store is fantastic - it fits the island like a glove. They have what you need and a comfortable little cafe on site that serves breakfast and lunch. In the summer on the side porch they sell gourmet ice cream. They keep the temperature nice and cool in the summertime and the staff is very nice. The owner is first class - he and his wife live on the island. I am very thankful that there is a Maritime Market.

Sure, some things are a little pricey, but they have a little of everything you need to stay on the island! Bring back banana juice, tho!

Very nice staff. And very well stocked grocery store they have everything you need, so that you dont have to go back to the main land to get what you need. However you are going to pay more for shopping here just because it is on a island. For example a normal mountain dew and main land is 1.95 on the island it is 2.65.

We’ve been coming here for 30+ years and are so thrilled to have an option for custom scratch made cakes on the island. Esther Wong at the market made a beautiful and delicious “strawberry shortcake” 8 inch 4-layer cake for a family birthday celebration. What a great addition to the market!

While in Bald Head Island, this is your local market. Here, you will be able to find all your pantry basics, and some tasty treats.
Expect higher prices, after all this is an island 🏝 🙂

We've been visiting the Market for years and always enjoy the experience. Good selection of food and drink in a smaller, more intimate location with helpful staff. Centrally located on the island for convenience. The prices are expensive which is to be expected consideriing everything must be brought in by barge from the mainland.

Excellent selection of wine and beer. This is a full service grocery store though it is small. They also have a café that serves breakfast and lunch, a wood fire pizza oven that serves lunch and supper, and they are adding an asian takeout soon.
