Beautiful people is all I have to say. Thoughtful, kind, hardworking, and respectful. Since we arrived they immediately attended us and got straight to helping our beloved Cosmo. They gave us the whole explanation of what was wrong, remedies, costs, but unfortunately we had to do what was best for our beautiful Cosmo and let him go. The process from doing so to going home was painful but they helped us process it and spend our last few moments with Cosmo. I just want to thank everyone last night who helped us and that I’ll forever be grateful for the love, kindness, and support you gave us.

Would highly recommend! We are just getting started with them and have only had one visit but everything has gone great so far!
We were referred for an emergency and before I even had the chance to call the next morning they had already left me a message to get us seen. Plus they have worked completely around my schedule which helps a ton. 10/10 - these guys are great!!

I hate to see such bad reviews here because my experience was good. My dog was a rare case which I knew I might not have the best outcome due to age and how invasive his lump was. The soft tissue department I had a great experience with. Chase updated me daily knowing I would be a nervous wreck leaving my pup overnight. While they had other emergencies and weren’t able to do cat scan while there, leaving him was best option to get him in quickly and get him in for surgery. We discussed as a group - Chase who took care of my pup and gave me updates,dr amirsultan who spoke to me about his results and options and dr price who would have been the surgeon , had we proceeded. I noted that I wanted the best quality of life for him because he’s 12. They listened, communicated and cared for him like he was their own. The updates were wonderful and they even made me laugh because my dog is super special, everything they said was a 100% him so I know they were being honest. We ultimately decided due to his labs, cat scan results and age - the best thing for him was not to proceed. My 3 person care team were wonderful and I would recommend. Thank you so much !

I have long held NC State in high esteem. As a small animal professional, it has been a reliable source to refer patients who need specialty care. As an equine enthusiast, I have been to the equine hospital many times with friend's horses and always left there impressed. This time, I had my own horse in their care and I cannot say enough good things about them. We arrived on the emergency service with a possible septic tendon (life threatening). They were ready for us and within an hour we had a diagnosis and prognosis. Dr Bridget Peal was wonderful and communicated everything in a way that was compassionate and understandable. Even going as far as sending me pictures and videos of my horse walking so I could see his progress. I could tell that Waffles had been loved and well cared for while he was there. He loved Dr. Peal and his other friends! My husband is a human paramedic and commented multiple times that this hospital is cleaner than most human facilities!
I have recommended NC State for a long time professionally; it will be my pleasure to continue to recommend them personally as well.

My shih tzu, Lupita, needed emergency eye surgery over Thanksgiving. NC State had an ophthalmologist on call- Dr. Stonex- and my pup was able to get surgery within hours of her being admitted. The surgery was a success and I brought my baby home the next day. I don’t know what I would have done had they not been open. The staff was very helpful and very nice. Highly recommend NC State Vet School!

Amazing hospital with amazing staff and doctors. My horse (23yrs at the time) became very very sick after moving to chapel hill and she had never ever been sick before this. They were doubtful she would make it for a couple of days, but they worked on her 24/7 for 3 days straight and saved her for me. We spent a total of 8 days at the hospital, and while very expensive, worth every single penny to have my horse back and healthy again. I was in the middle of midterms while this was happening, so they would call my dad with updates twice a day and he would then relay that info to me. They made an exception for me to see my horse while she was in quarantine and I truly think that helped her recovery so much. They are truly such amazing people who care so much about the animals they see! Could not recommend this place enough. Again, worth every single penny you spend.

My dog was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his lower jaw. NC state Dental Vet explained the surgery option to us and gave us the confidence to follow through. The surgery was a success. Half of my dog’s lower jaw was removed and he has been cancer free ever since. Beyond thankful for the surgery team at nc state. Its been more than a year since the surgery and although it was expensive, it was worth every penny. NC State Vet is one of the best in the country!

We had to take one our horses here. They are very professional and great Vets. It's a haul from Myrtle Beach but it's the only place we will take any of our horses going forward because I know they will get the care they need.

I can't say enough great things about the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. My experience was with the Soft Tissue Surgery department. I came into the experience with lots of anxiety and fear of the unknown. The vet student assigned to my case as well as the residents were super kind and compassionate. They thoroughly explained my dog's condition and the treatment as well as all the potential risks. They also took time to answer all my questions throughout. The surgery itself went super smooth. They called me at least four times the day of the surgery, including the moment my pup was going in, the moment the surgery was complete and once she was awake. The communication was far and above what I expected and was very much appreciated. When you can't be with your furry friend, it's the next best thing to know they'll call you and fill you in. Thank you to the soft tissue surgery team for all you did to care for me and my pup this past week. We will be forever grateful.

Excellent care for my dog: best practices are followed, staff are caring, and the prices are reasonable especially considering the quality of care. The veterinarians are great partners to help me keep my working dog healthy and happy.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Cardiology. From reception giving me a warm welcome and support while I waited for my exam, to the students being thorough and transparent, to having a resident come in and loving on my pup while we discussed the plan. He loved all of the attention and lovings they gave him that going back for his echo was a breeze. They kept me updated and aware of how the test was going and assured me that he will have a long and happy life even with a subtle heart murmur. Will forever be loyal to cardiology for our future treatments after our experience today. ❤

Saved my very sick cat. I have no doubt he'd have been dead two weeks ago if I hadn't brought him here. Most of the vets in the area don't have the kind of testing he needed available. Now he's running around like he's never been better. The entire team was also very kind, and it was overall a good experience.

The staff and hospital are amazing! Very friendly and clean. If you didn’t know, you would think it was a hospital for humans. My daughters fur baby had to have emergency back surgery. The nurses came right out and took her back to evaluate, the neurologist did an exam and CT scan, confirming she needed surgery. She was there for three days. My Granfurbaby was carried in and walked out on her own! So thankful! It’s been 2 weeks since surgery and Luna is already wanting to play.

Our dog was seen through the internal medicine department. Everything from scheduling, to price, to what to expect at the visit was so well laid out and organized. There were no surprises since everything was so well explained before we even set foot in the door! Dr. Rank was the vet that worked with our dog and she explained everything in depth and was so kind and patient. Our dog had to go back for a biopsy procedure and Dr. Rank was her vet again and took such good care of her and called and kept us informed both before and after the procedure and the next day. I highly, highly recommend NC State Vet! They truly care about the animals in their care and everyone I encountered was so kind, professional, and helpful!

I brought my cat here over the last few days to oncology, and I have nothing but great things to say. Dr. Strasberg was relatable, honest, upfront, and thorough. He is a huge asset to oncology! He made myself and my nervous cat feel at ease and comfortable. We left feeling confident, informed and glad we made the trip. 5 stars from us ⭐ so grateful to have NC state close enough to bring my pets here, thanks again!!! 🙂

My Baby Pup, Bear was a patient at NC State ICU towards the end of May. Although My Baby did not make it because he had several things wrong with him all at once, that unfortunately I didn’t know and My Baby never showed any signs that he was sick. I am grateful for the extensive care that the ICU provided to him. They were amazing and worked around the clock with him, even did blood transfusions which I was hopeful would work however, his blood pressure would not increase. They were so wonderful all the doctors were great and I can’t thank you all enough for everything you did to help poor baby Bear. I appreciate all your efforts and if I ever need you in the future I will definitely contact this hospital. Thank you again., Brenda and John LaMontagne.

Great experience so far. In 3 weeks Dr. Murphy was able to clear a very horrible skin infection. I will say that the appointments can be hard to get, if your issue is urgent call in or send pics. I went to another dermatologist in Wendell and was absolutely robbed of time and money.
