This review is for the advertising department of Brown Deer High School. They have been calling my home business so frequently that it is bordering on harassment. They want me to pay and advertise in this brochure/pamphlet they would distribute at sporting events. Whoever is in charge of advertising needs to be fired. There is no oversight. Calling me 6+ times in the same month is not right. I'm not interested. Passing the call sheet to someone else to call from a random business on their lunch hour will not change that. Take a hint.

This school in almost no way prepared me for college. There are (or at least, were) some great teachers who seem to genuinely care here. The majority just seem to be here for a paycheck. The superintendent only seems to care about herself and her image. I rarely ever saw her throughout my entire education at Brown Deer (which started when Algonquin was still around). Some teachers just treat you like you're stupid if you don't understand something and won't go out of their way to help you understand the concept. After I graduated, I ran into a lot of teachers who left the district to teach literally across the street instead because the school was so bad. They also don't distribute enough attention to sports other than football and basketball. It's like my future didn't even matter to people here. You can tell that the staff, whether they are teachers or just faculty members, have very obvious favorites as well. My favorite teachers, the ones who actually seemed to care about the students, were either fired or left.

I'm not giving this school any stars! If I could give negative stars I would. Math teachers can't even teach math, one tells the students only the smart kids can sit up front. The gym teacher bullies the kids, calling some fat. He too was once a bullied overwight child you'd think he'd have compassion. When these issues were brought to attention of the principle they were dismissed, the kids are just over reacting. Employees go after other students with hateful revenge. Of course there are a few amazing teachers and staff but the trash that is employeed there leaves a dark cloud over the school. Dr. Deb Kerr only cares about her image and the school image, not sure which one she wants to make look more perfect. She does not care about the kids!!!!!! No matter how much she smiles and acts like she knows you. She doesn't!!!!
Do not come to this school. Run in the other direction.

My siblings all went here. For years, we have always had issues with them losing our money. Be it money we’ve given them for field trips, school fees, or deposits for the lunch account...we are always hearing back that they haven’t received payments or we owe them money still when they’ve already debited the money from my account! I now pay with check for everything so I have a paper trail to dispute their bogus claims - charging $585 for a field trip and then trying to say I still owe $385 when I’ve written them multiple checks for a total of $450???? Either someone can’t do math and/or someone is grossly incompetent with handling funds.

They also never update their online Skyward system. They put in incorrect emergency contact information for my kids and despite NUMEROUS requests to have it changed, they didn’t do it until we marched into the office and asked them to do it right then and there. They also won’t show you how much of a balance is in your kid’s lunch account. You don’t know your kid is out of money until they have like $10 left.

Not very happy with BDHS. My daughter has been trying to drop an AP history class since school has started. I was told by Mr. Flagel that she couldnt drop class even though it is lowering her gpa. The official reason "we don't have AP students". I was told I would have to go all the way up to Dr. Kerr the super intendent, eventhough many kids have done so already. My daughter is college bound and will not be stopped. Mr Flagel lied and said it would be an up hill battle. Well let the war begin.... Shots fired Mr Flagel.
