Ace Hardware

We were 25 miles from our shop and needed some cut off wheels to finish our project. Went on Google to find the Ace hardware store was less than 3 miles away. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with good morning and what could we help you find. Thanks to the staff I was in and out in minutes with my cut off wheels and a delicious bag of fresh popcorn. Thank you

This is the most pleasant hardware store experience I've had in years. I got asked very shortly after entering what I was looking for. Shortly after responding, the employee directed me to the exact location, from memory. When I got to the register and the previous patron was waiting for something to be brought up from the back, the person running the checkout logged into the other station and checked me out so I wouldn't have to wait. The entire visit took less than 5 minutes.

I've only lived in St. Charles for three years, but this has always been my go-to place for whatever I need: paint, hoses, birdfood, firewood, plumbing repair, tools, etc. The store is chock full of inventory--and the people are just so friendly. They know me by name and treat me like I'm their neighbor.

Had keys made—took 3 minutes, everyone was friendly and the keys worked!

Just like growing up! Very friendly and helpful staff. They always have what I need when in a bind.

Always receive outstanding service. A rare exception, these days.

Personal old-school feel

Love this place. They've been there for a while, and it feels like I'm going back in time to when small-town warm personal attention was the norm.

Things cost a little more than the big box places because they don't have the buying power or scale, but I'm happy to pay the difference because (1) it costs gas and time to get to the big box store anyway, and (2) I appreciate supporting any small business that treats customers the way they do.

I seriously look forward to going there.

The customer service at this Ace Hardware location is exceptional! This is the reason I return to this location time and time again when I'm in need of materials or even some advice. Randy has helped me through a number of projects from extremely simple jobs (replacing a door knob) to complex tasks (fashioning a custom appliance actuator). He has a "first principles" engineering mindset. He strips the problem down to it's most simple elements and counsels you accordingly without pretense (or no BS in other words)

Another employee that has helped me on a few occasions worthy of mention is Dean. He is extremely friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. He is willing to perseveare on finding a solution if there's one to be had.

Both of these men offer advice for your projects that you just can't get from a YouTube video. They will probably end up saving you a lot of time. Thanks guys for all the help!

When I walk in, the employees ask what you need, and they can direct you right away. Tell them what you're using it for, and they'll give you suggestions. It's not hit or miss like the big box orange and blue stores. You get personal help, and you can tell they care about their customers.

The most helpful staff. They go above and beyond. They didn't have what I needed in that location not only did they search other locations of Ace hardware's but they also gave me suggestions on other hardware stores that could help me with my project. Definitely that hometown hardware store feel.

I’ve never liked going into hardware stores until now. What kind, helpful people here. I’ve been here three times, my husband maybe 5 since we’ve moved here and we both have had nothing but happy, kind people greeting us and helping us. Though it should be, it’s not common and it’s so appreciated !

Typical neighborhood "Ace is the place". They have what you need when you need it and staff to help if needed. Otherwise they give the the space to find your own way. Something that hasn't changed in decades and you can depended on. It was that way when my Grandfather owned and operated one and the tradition continues. Something us older folk can appreciate in a Ecomerce world gone wild.

Cool people in extremely friendly and helpful not like the big box guys for sure! you may pay a little bit more and they may not have everything like Home Depot or Menards but these people will walk with you to find what you need.

I needed a special battery for a head lamp and your staff assisted me with finding a location where it could be purchased. ACE IS the with a helpfull hand indeed. Thank you.

Great place, very helpful sales people and its amazing the how they manage to have a little of everything you need. I realized how nice it is to shop here instead of a big box store.
