Grumps Burgers

First time here and the burgers were amazing. I got the queso burger, others got the Swiss mushroom burger, and the regular burger. I loved the fries too. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Stopped in for a late lunch on Tuesday July 25th around 1:20. Ambience is pretty cool old burger joint vibe. Lots of signs and TX history. Stepped up to the counter and ordered our burgers: queso and BBQ bacon without a bun in a bowl plus spicy fries that we shared. Also had Shiner, wife had a margarita. Found a table and watched some baseball on one of the three TVs. Food came out within 15 minutes. They advertise they aren’t a fast food joint and that is okay. They serve a great burger. Both burgers were medium well. Bill came to $28.

My wife and my brother and I were in Stevensville for a family event. We found Grumps on Google Maps, saw they were highly rated so we stopped in for dinner. We all ordered cheeseburgers and we had an order of fries, an order of onion rings and an order of fried jalapenos. My wife and my brother both had a large draft beer (served in an oversized glass and very cold). I ordered a fountain drink (self serve and was pleasantly surprised to see that all the drink selections were from the Dublin bottling company). Once we placed our order we found a table and helped ourselves to some complementary peanuts while we waited on our order. The place has a nice oversized ice house atmosphere. TVs with various sports events. It was busy but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other at our table. When your food is ready they bring it out hollering your name and bring it to your table hot and fresh. The burgers were amazing, the sides were plentiful and very good. If you haven't tried this place, you should add it to a must try. I'm sure you'll like it. Oh! If you like it spicy the have jalapeno cheese bun option and you gotta try their jalapeno ketchup

Great burger. Cool atmosphere. Be nice to have this as an option in Florida. Jalapeno ketchup for the road.

Very good burgers and sides. Food service was pretty slow. But, we would go again.

This local Legend was one of the most comfortable restaurants I have been in while in Texas, the manager the cashier and the staff were all so friendly. I had ordered the spicy chicken sandwich which was delicious moist piece of chicken I just wish it was a little bit spicier, but for the locals I bet it had the right amount of heat the fried pickles were also quite delicious.

You know in foreign movies when they say things like “We going to America let’s get a burger/fries.“ this is the place you wanna take them too. It’s got that home town (clean) hole in the wall feel. You walk in, order at the counter, and pick your own seat. You’ve got some peanuts on the table to pick at while you wait and the burger is worth the wait. I got the queso burger and it was that goood queso not nasty fake cheese. Fries=Yummy. Not shoe string thin or steak fry large, just medium with a golden glow of on the verge of overcooked but stopped just in time. Fried pickles were a bit salty but I’m a little bougie about my fried pickles so you may think they are great. All the Durblin soda you can drank’ in true Texan fashion. Also- it’s kid friendly. I have a ton of kids and they did fine... ice cream box being front and center was a bit cruel to parents and the pocket book but I commend them for their cut throat up sale on the ice cream.

Burgers are always good at Grumps. This was our first time trying it outside of Abilene and it did not disappoint. If you like burgers this is a must stop.

Dropped in here with my son looking for a good burger. We were not disappointed. Grumps is a fun little place in Stephenville Texas. The inside is decorated with an eclectic collection of stuff mostly related to Texas. We both ordered double burgers. They were huge! 🍔! One patty would have been plenty. We also ordered onion rings. They were great as well. Battered just right. I hate overly battered onion rings. Of you are ever in Stephenville Texas and want a burger, Grumpy is the place to go.

Had a jr burger and added mushrooms and swiss. He had a bacon cheese jalapeno burger and gave me all his veggies. SO MANY VEGGIES made it so good! Enough to make me a little side salad
But besides the food ... The leaking water situation at the drink station was bad . One guy was constantly trying to wipe it up as much as he could. Kinna smelled like sewage. Super dangerous also.. anyone could have slipped and fallen. The wet shoe prints headed out to the front door onto the sidewalk showed just how bad it was 😬

Great environment, great burgers, and great options for people who don’t eat bread. Highly recommend.

Arrived at noon on a Saturday, the line was out the door but moved efficiently. Wait staff very friendly and great family atmosphere and fun decor. Outstanding!

Absolutely amazing place. Food is excellent! Friendly atmosphere, down to earth ! Love this place and we will definitely be back. I had hamburger and fried chips , husband had patty melt and onion rings and oh my Dublin fountain drinks! Oh and don’t forget the peanuts at the table. Love love this place.

The burger was good, but the meat was a little underseasoned. The jalapeno bun is z must! It's very flavorful. We had the spicy fries which are tasty, but not real spicy. The service is great. Our waitress was attentive and the manager came to our table to see if everything was good. Definitely recommend this place!

There are countless places to grab a bite, but very few manage to serve up an experience as memorable as Grumps in Stephenville. On my recent visit, Justin, the manager, was the highlight of our evening. It’s not just about the food (which was fantastic, by the way), but it’s the people behind the counter that make a meal truly special.

From the moment we walked in, Justin greeted us with genuine warmth and professionalism. But it wasn’t just his service expertise that stood out. Justin had that rare ability to connect with customers, making us feel valued and appreciated. It was evident he takes great pride in his role and has a natural flair for hospitality.

It's easy to train someone to follow a script or perform tasks, but Justin's outstanding customer service came from the heart. He went above and beyond, ensuring our dining experience was flawless from start to finish. In a world where true customer service seems to be dwindling, Justin was a breath of fresh air.

Grumps should feel proud to have someone of Justin’s caliber representing them. I’ll certainly be returning, not just for the great food, but in hopes of being served by Justin once again. Hats off to Grumps in Stephenville for fostering such talent!

It's actually so awesome, there were so many people there, but they got our food out to us pretty fast still, and it was a quality burger. Would definetly recommended. Great place for post game partying

Yummy food , good prices i still wish they open on Sundays do i can go there more with the kids

Great burgers are so satisfying and Grumps really hit the spot today. We were in town and just about two blocks from Grumps when I turned to Yelp to pick a place for lunch. The great ratings and closeness to our location was a real bonus.

We enjoyed Jr. Mushroom Swiss burgers. The Jr. burger is a 1/4 lb burger, where the normal size is six ounces of meat. For us the Jr. burger was just right. I tried the jalapeno ketchup and it was delicious and had a good little kick in it.

Great burgers and awesome atmosphere. Definitely worth the stop. Highly recommend and we’ll be here again!
