Fantastic, food was great. I got the shrimp fajitas. Service was outstanding, people are nice and it's always clean and cool in here! Margaritas are great too!

First of all, this is no longer Don Julios..this is El Cardinal

And it's amazing.

Since ownership changed, this location has made a complete 180.

Everything on the menu is delicious. And I've had it all.

The service is prompt and the prices are more than reasonable.

I stopped in at Julio's with my Mom and her church group on Sumday as a bit of an out-of-towner. The food was excellent and the servers were very friendly. I look forward to my next visit and look forward to trying the fajitas.

We’ve noticed the place as we passed on the freeway an average of 3 times per month, but never took the time to run by there and try it out. We finally did after 2-1/2 years. Noticed that it looked like some of the dips were thin, (many comments said they were watered down, so we expected it) but I don’t use them anyway. Food was good and quickly delivered to our table faster than we expected!!! Wait staff was friendly and efficient. Overall, nice relaxing meal experience..... Will return again.
My wife liked the lime dip but said it definitely has a “ kick “ that hits you in just a little bit! Many will like that.... possibly, a few won’t, but I believe it’s worth a try to get another eating choice if you’re in the area frequently!!! Enjoy!

I know this place has been getting some unenviable ratings, but I went lately with some friends, and it was great. The food was good, the prices were cheap, and you get plenty to eat. Plus it's not nearly as crowded as the restaurant next to it.

If you can make it at lunch time they have some great deals on the lunch menu. Like Fajitas for less than $9.

Next time you're in the mood for Mexican give it a shot.

They had great food. They just didn't have enough employees. The poor waitress was waiting tables, helping the chef. Plus when it was time to pay, I had to find the sweet waitress to get our bill. It was a Monday evening so, will be back in the future to try again.

Much improved! Went here for lunch. Everything was very good. The salsa was really good too especially the green. The lunch special prices are very low. What a great lunch at a bargain price. Look forward to the next time.

Cardinales is the new name. It used to be Julios Mexican restaurant but I assure you that you won't be disappointed. I had chicken and beef flautas and my wife had mole. Both plates plentiful and muy delisoso!

Very good service which may take a little while, but is worth the quality and excellence they provide. The food is freshly made and delicious and great drinks mixed here as well. Loom forward to coming back here again and I suggest anybody else to come on in.

Julio's has the best enchiladas I've ever eaten. They serve food in a timely manner and it's always hot and fresh. Prices are good. They are available for takeout, call in orders.

The place was very clean and tidy. The queso was spectacular as were the meals. Their house margaritas were superb. Thank yall for the greatness of my visit. Will definitely be back.

The food is made with fresh ingredients always nice and hot prepared fresh when ordered. Definitely not like the TV dinners you get in Cleveland Texas and we have been to all the Mexican restaurants in Cleveland before Julio's ever opened up. Customer service is always been the best we ever had. Julio's staff and owners has always greeted us with a smile plus remembering our names and our favorite dishes. My husband's is the stuffed beef chili relleno. My daughters is the cheese enchiladas with tamales. And one of my newest favorite dishes is the stuff avocado with chicken and beef. The one that we all love the most is Julio's homemade red salsa. We can't get enough of it. Our experience with Mexican restaurants the past 30 plus years has been all over Texas. From the Rio Grande Valley, Raymondville, Brownsville, Santa Rosa, Galveston, Santa Fe, League City, Pasadena, Laporte, Deer Park, southeast side of Houston, Baytown, Channelview, North Shore, Galena park, Humble, Kingwood, Woodlands, Conroe, Livingston, Porter, New Caney, Cleveland, Splendora. All this was before the new owners took over who and created Julio's Mexican restaurant. Ever since Julio's opened up we have been devoted customers we used to drive all the way into Houston to eat at Bravos until it was burnt down and then we were sad until Julio's opened up. Every time we get a chance to eat there it has been a wonderful delicious lunch or dinner. We have never been disappointed or upset with the food quality or the service. We have always given them 5 stars and plus… Julio's has earned this because, no other Mexican restaurant has held up to my husband's high standards of the food quality and my standards of customer service satisfaction for this long of a time period that Julio's has done and they make it look as if it is easy. From day one they have not let us down..

These folks do it right. Houston - millions of Mex restaurants. Julios is not the big loud gringo birtday singing pretend to be Mexico mariachi Ken and Barbi loud drink beer setting. This is a family restaurant with excellent, humble service. The recipes and food has always been suitable to my tastes. I am told they do not use lard in the dishes, refried beans, etc. This indicates attention to serving customers in a manner a notch above many small shops. Not expensive, the chips and salsa are really good. It is quiet, the AC is cool on hot summer days.
