Wow! My wife and I went to Sammataro this afternoon to enjoy some pizza - we were pleasantly surprised that it’s not just a pizza joint. The outdoor space is pet-friendly, and a comfortable space for big and small groups.

The guy at the window took our order was helpful and threw some chili oil in on the house. We ordered meatball pie and it was incredible. Their true wood burning oven creates an incredible crust and under carriage on the pizza. The meatball was incredible and their cheese was excellent.

It was nice to have the wine show Cork and a Screw in the same park to enjoy some natural wines with their pizza.

We’ll definitely be back!

Excellent! This is probably the best NYC-style pizza in Texas. I’ve tried a ton of them, the majority never even come close but this one nails it. 5-star rating for Texas pizza. If Sammataro was in NYC, maybe consider keeping it in the oven a couple more minutes and decrease the amount of olive oil on top, but for Texas this is a top-quality NYC-style pizza.

UPDATE: Sammataro made it right. They encouraged me to get the pizza fresh instead of through delivery service. When I picked up my new cheese and mushroom pizza it was divine! I did ask for them to add extra sauce on the base and I thought it made it absolutely exceptional !! @Sammataro please add the option to select extra sauce on base 🙏🏼It’s heavenly! (New pics added of round two pizzas with a little extra sauce!

OLD Review:
I have been wanting to love Sammataro for over a year. I’m a very visual pizza eater. Visually their classic is everything I love about a pizza. But every time I order their pizza it is dry and the pizza base is stiff/sharp?. The crust is somewhat doughy though. Feels like each bite cuts my esophagus until I work my way up to the crust.

Anyway I feel bad criticizing this pizza like this but I just wish they would add a little more sauce at the very least so the pizza has more moisture.

I’ve requested extra sauce in the past but don’t get it added or they charge a big fee for sauce on the side. Again can be perfect with more sauce/cheese ratio.

If I could give the atmosphere higher than a 6 I would - wine available at its sister store made for a super vibes relaxing evening.

The pizza was delish, we really loved the vodka pizza so much.

Hands down some of the best pizza in Austin. It’s fresh and what you want in an oven style pizza. If you are looking for a good time come by on Friday for jazz at Cork & Screw!

Honestly one of the better pizzas I’ve ever had. So simple and so delicious! The sauce is INCREDIBLE and the crust is a perfect height, not paper thin but not too thick with the prefect chew. Would recommend to anyone! Live music and string lights make for a fun atmosphere too.

Best food truck pizza I’ve had. Probably one of the best pizzas in ATX. Kudos for having a real wood burning stove on the side of a food truck. ;) That’s as “Keep Austin Weird” as it gets. Wish I could come here more often - it too expensive. Prices need adjusting. This ain’t NYC - it’s a food truck park in East Austin that opens at 3pm.

They 100% have the best pizza dough in town - fluffy with a slight char to it. I ordered a pie online 30min before opening and was able to pick it up it fairly quickly. Staff is super friendly and helpful.

When in Austin and hungry for pizza or a looking for good place to hang out. You have to stop by Sammataro and bring the crew.

Pizza was solid and delicious and craved it again in a few days.. that’s when you know! Also, staff was A++! and most importantly, don’t forget the chili oil - Banger!!

Drove all the way down from Dallas to get this pie, irresistible, delightful, and filling pizza truck dishing out fresh ingredients along with kind, down to earth customer service. little on the expensive side of things but made fresh/piping hot i definitely think its worth . ordered via the website and scheduled pickup of my za. want to come back and try the white pizza

Hands down. The BEST Pizza 🍕 in Austin. The menu is simple and just good ingredients.
Service is super quick. Called in our order right after the opened and it was going to be ready in 10 minutes. Ordered pepperoni and mushroom Bc CLASSIC.
Parking is easy in the lot that they are located in off Lost Creek and 360.
There are tables for dining by the trailer or you can take your pie to go.

Just a fantastic pizza with the great vibes of Camp East. The classic pizza hit the spot. To me, it’s like a perfect Brooklyn-Neapolitan hybrid with the best sauce. It tastes like eating a fresh, well-seasoned tomato. Not sweet at all.

Ordered 5 pizzas online - of the wrong flavor. The guy at the window was extremely helpful in fixing the order I had messed up. The pizza was incredible and ready at the time I had scheduled to pick it up. This place is reliable, food is amazing, staff is nice, and the ambiance is so cool. Directions for where to park are on their site. Highly recommend this spot!!!!!

First time in Sammataro pizza and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing pizza, is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! Great place for dinner with the girls or for date night. The service was great and the food was very tasty. Somewhat limited menu, but every dish we got exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend!

The pizza is usually top notch but had a carry out order that was entirely burnt on the bottom. Tried to seek a resolution with the company but their phone number wouldn’t accept phone calls. After connecting on Instagram, they made it right! Excellent food.

What is there to say about a spot that already has a perfect score on reviews?

The pizza is exceptional. Wood fired, simple ingredients and a great choice of toppings.

We got half cheese/half chili and a mushroom/shallot pizza. They were both cooked to perfection. Thin crust, just enough chew and that light char you only get from wood fired pizza.

I brought two of my east coast pizza experts to make sure it stood up to the test. We crushed two pizzas down to the last bite.

While enjoying this delicious za, my friends discussed all the attributes of their pies. How your fingers should turn dark from the bottom of the pizza. How the sauce has a great bite to it. Why they had to get regular just to test the basic pie.

The Sammataro team even brought us a bowl of extra sauce to dip our crust.

The delightful staff and heavenly pizza is waiting for you. Go get it. Don't hesitate. Take a friend. They'll thank you by the end.

Great Pizza! If someone told me Sammataro is their favorite pizza I'd believe them. I'm a jersey boy and this pizza is really good. Not a lot of Austin pizza makes me wanting more, and typically I make my own because of cost, but I will come back for Sammataro. For sure...

Wow. This unassuming outdoor food hut has one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a while. Reminding me of Lucali’s in Brooklyn, their pepperoni is incredible, with fresh basil and olive oil. My favorite part was the dough, that’s, again, identical to NYC pizza.

I’m in awe at how it only has 40 reviews. Don’t sleep on this place — come and get your ultimate pizza experience ASAP! Will definitely be back.
