Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt

An absolutely amazing sanctuary in a wide open area under the gaze of the heavens on a hill in west Austin overlooking the city. A peaceful, spirit-filled space to pray, think, visit, remember, forgive, plan, sing & be with God. The alter & setting provide just the right place to be whatever you need it to be.

My cousin's memorial service was held here at sundown. I was awestruck as I remembered a dear man.

I will never forget those precious moments. It is a place I'll return & take others to experience.

Open for visitors during the week, but I love visiting for mass on Sunday. 10am during the summer and 11am the rest of the year. The service is outdoors with a fantastic view. They use folding chairs so make sure to grab a kneeler pad from the front. They have an integrated sound system which is great. In the summer they have awnings available for more shade. Overall, my favorite place to be on Sundays!

Beautiful Marian shrine on a hill overlooking residential Austin. Off of Rob Roy Rd. Mass at 11 am on Sundays, everyone on folding chairs in front of the shrine. Spanish mass in the afternoon. Seems to be a very caring congregation, led by priests giving heartfelt sermons. Prayers to Our Lady at end of Mass and invitation to visit the shrine afterwards.

Great community, feels like home

Beautiful little place. Great view over the lake, really feels like you're in the clouds, especially when it's foggy or misty. Quiet little chapel that's starting to get more busy. I suggest visiting at more quiet hours during the day. Very nice and helpful volunteers watching over this sanctuary who'll tell you a little more about it all. Helpful priests when they are there among all their other ministries

The church itself is very small so they've accommodated large numbers of people by having gorgeous outdoor services. The property is on a hill and overlooks the lake in Austin. It is quite picturesque. They have carefully arranged speakers, live music, and white Christmas lights on the trees. There is a wide range of "Church appropriate clothing" so no one will feel over or under dressed.

Overly cold, windy, or wet weather may cause services to be moved indoors to their adjacent buildings. This is rather small compared to most churches and space is limited. You may watch services online.

It is my little slice of Heaven! This pilgrimage site brings me peace and serenity. The scenery of river and greenbelt is amazing as you look down from atop the hillside where the church is. If you haven't been, I encourage you to visit soon!

Amazing place to go for Sunday catholic service. Beautiful views overlooking the Austin Hill county and so pleasant to be able to attend service outdoors. It can be warm in the summer, so don't dress too fancy or you'll be warm, shirts for sure!

Gorgeous view! It makes you feel even closer to God. The little chapel is So lovely. What a peaceful place!

It’s an amazing place. I love having mass outside. They do a good job having enough seats. The music is always amazing. If you want to have mass and feel peace you need to come here aleast once.

Lovely and simple Catholic chapel with broad view of the West Austin area. Operated/supported by a small Marian lay community living nearby as well as many UT students. Marian priests also have a house nearby. Thank you, Andrea, for the tour and gentle conversation :)

The perfect place to find rest and renewal. Beautiful little chapel for prayer, fantastic views of the Texas Hill Country, friendly people. Open everyday 9am to 8pm!
