Mama Juanitas Mexican Restaurant

Restaurant really beautiful on the inside. Great romantic Mexican smooth music and ambiance. I really liked my waiter Jerrod, he is handsome and was attentive to any inquiry I might have had. The plate of Parrillada for one was really good and the tres leches cake was marvelous. The portion is big so I took a to-go box with I'm happy about. Good restaurant, definitely coming back. The mango margarita is gigantic and really good. Would recommend.

We usually stop at Mam Juanita's whenever we are traveling to Dallas from Houston north on Interstate 45. Located in Huntsville right off the interstate. With the added bonus of being located directly in front of and inside the same driveway as the Tesla Supercharger. If we are needing to charge and it's near a meal time or we are just hungry for a great snack or cold drink. This is where we choose to go for great Mexican food served by an always friendly staff. The food is great and the atmosphere is enjoyable.

$16.99 Pollo De Lacho... (I believe is the name of the dish). Grilled chicken, shrimp, crawfish tails, diced ham, and mushrooms, smothered in queso and a house sauce over a bed of rice. This dish here is a vibe! I've always loved the environment here. The staff are always kind. I eat very slowly and usually never finish a full meal in one sitting. Here I am, never rushed to leave.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been too in a long time!! Amazing!! The two salsas they give you to start were great! I usually don’t like green, I ate two of the greens. And the red is warm! We got a small thing of queso, white. The small was pretty big and it came with some baked chips, I think. They were amazing! The cheese was one of the best tasting!! Omg. For the main dish I got the Poblana combo (steak & chicken) fajitas. Recommend for sure! They cooked the meats perfect which is rare for a Mexican restaurant. Wasn’t dry at all! The sauce cooked on it was amazing! Had great flavors. I’ll be coming back here for sure!

I would have this is probably the best Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at. We got the Mama Juanita's platter. The service was excellent and so was the food was cooked perfect. They came and checked on us quite a few times while we was there. Super friendly people. They absolutely go out of their way to make sure all your needs are met. We ate till we cannot eat anymore. Anytime I go through Huntsville from now on I will be eating there. It was highly recommended by a friend and man was he not lying.

Absolutely worth the stop! Sunday, we brought a group of HS kids in after working all afternoon for a conference. We were starving, it was cold and rainy and after 8:00 at night & Edgar seated us quickly, got out the drinks and chips and already had us feeling better. He overheard our advisor tell the kids their budget was $15, including beverage, so he spoke with the sponsor, offered a group discount, which made ordering even easier. The salsa, like the service, was served warm and wonderful. He put on a playlist of music that had the kids perking right up and had the teachers dancing in their seats, lol. Everything was out of the kitchen quickly and was absolutely heavenly! Thank you for making our experience memorable and enjoyable! Will definitely be coming back next time we’re in town.

Had my wife's birthday here and it was amazing! They set up flowers and let us reserve a table and made it a wonderful celebration. Our waiter( Edwin, Eddie, Edgar, Ed something lol ) made everything even better! I highly recommend him and mama Juanitas!

WOW WOW WOW !!! KUDOS TO THE COOK!!! I am not from the area and was brought here by family tonight. EVERYTHING was so amazing even our waiter!!! Their chips & salsa was so good. The red one is like a roasted tomato salsa but not chuncky and served warm. Their avocado salsa is served cold and SO GOOD but also not chunky. Who’s is fine because they are so good! I got the Pollo De Lacho which is a larger chicken breast over a bed of rice topped with shrimp, crawfish tails, chunks of ham (yes ham! It was so good in there) with sautéed red onions and heavens almighty it was the best thing every. Yes it’s spicy, but so good! I asked for tortillas and was given their house-made flour tortillas so it was VERY filling. Oh and their charro beans !!!!!!!!! Holy moly are so good and flavorful and spicy. I’ll most likely get this every-time I come here!! My mom and dad got a plate that had chicken and beef fajitas and a crunchy taco, cheese enchilada, beans and rice. They also loved it! My daughter had a create your own combo with 2 chicken and cheese enchiladas with creamy avocado sauce over it with beans and rice and couldn’t finish it like she usually does at other places because others don’t put much in the enchiladas. When my daughter and I asked for a box to take leftovers home the waiter also gave us a bag of chips with both of their salsas in bowls to go as well and several of their mouth watering house-made tortillas!!! 100% WORTH STOPPING BY AND RETURNING AGAIN & AGAIN !!! I can’t wait to come back!! We had 4 adult menu plates with a $20 tip totaled our bill out to be @ $113.

The chimichangas are deep fried perfection. The fajitas & enchiladas are also incredible. Highly recommend the margaritas and pina coladas too. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order from here. Great food & great service!

Meal was pretty good. Unexpected flavor from the Agava topped fajitas... With the liquor sauce. Good flavor in the meat, and jalapeno, onion, mushroom... Etc. Our server was a little busy, handing multiple tables, so I sat without a refill. Other than that though the food was great. My wife is real picky about burritos, and she really liked her custom burrito here as well. We will be back.

Mama Juanita's or "Mama Juan's"as my family calls it, is our favorite! Always great food and service! On my most recent visit, I brought a group of about 20 high school students all with separate checks. Edgar was our server, and all the orders were correct and we were so well taken care of! Thank you Edgar!

Unfortunately I don't have any photos to share this time, but I love their margaritas, and we shared a sampler appetizer, which had all the top goodies; cheesy-meaty stuffed Avocado was pretty darn good!

I was impressed with the menu selection. I’ve had Mexican food my entire life and they had dishes I haven’t seen. Highly recommend trying this place. I had the chicken with crawfish and shrimp and it was amazing. The plates are enough to feed 2. A lot of food for the price.

I had a awesome experience at this restaurant! Brandon provided phenomenal service. Edgar the manager was stellar he checked on us of and made the best of the night! I ordered the Camerones tigras and it was delicious!! Definitely coming back again!!

Excellent food and service we had queso flamiano it was super cheesy buttery and the meat was very tender and flavorful and the chips and queso were fantastic the tortillas were fresh and delicious

Wow. Hidden gem! Great service, awesome food, authentic Mexican atmosphere! 10 out of 10. I could eat here just for the red salsa alone! Everything was fresh. Big flavor. Good portion size. CHEAP TOO! I ordered the chicken fajitas, large queso, and a drink for $27. Good luck getting out the door anywhere else with this quality food for such a low price. I am Really impressed! If you are passing through stop by! You won’t be disappointed!
