Mr. Hamburger

Mr hamburger was a very unique experience. The interior and atmosphere was cool, with old Huntsville newspapers and a creepy mascot. The burger was gigantic and tasty. They were unfortunately out of fries but offered to substitute onion rings instead. The local sodas were very delicious.

Such cheap food but it’s sooooo good!!! They offer something that I thought was nuts , they offer a deep fried burger . My mom got it and she said that it was absolutely amazing! As you can see, the burger was so good that I forgot to take a picture before I ate half of it😂. I definitely will be coming back here again .

Worth a visit. This burger joint is a great piece of Texas history. It is like time capsule into the 1950s of a classic, counter serve burger joint/diner. The atmosphere and decor are eclectic and a true nod to days past. There are several burger and fry options, some of which are themed after the Huntsville Prison. The wait is a bit long for your food, but you can tell that everything is made to order. The burgers are good, not the best I’ve had, but still good nonetheless. The cheese isn’t so flavorful but you can tell that the patties are fresh and well seasoned. The hornet burger I had was more on the smokier and peppery side. I also enjoyed the fountain drink options. You won’t find Coke or Pepsi, but you can enjoy wonderful options including sarsaparilla root beer, lemonade, and craft cola.

Seriously good!! I would highly recommend any of their hamburgers and upgrading their fries to the Mexican Street Fries or the Buffalo Chicken Fries!

Probably the best burgers in Huntsville. Good bread and meat, not too big or small. Fries are good with options like garlic parmesan. Older but clean building and friendly service.

Food was delicious. I loved this little place!

I was passing through Huntsville looking for some dinner when saw the sign for Mr. Hamburger. A few of the other places I normally go had long lines so I thought “why not try somewhere new”. Best choice ever! Mr. Hamburger was a little off the freeway but worth the extra few minutes. They have a delicious old school style with big juicy patties and some of the best fries I have ever had. I had some questions because it was our first time there and Alex was great. She was nice and friendly even with my sister making her typical complex order. To top it all off they had homemade chocolate chip cookies that were just like mom used to make. Delicious! If you are in the area take a couple extra minutes and hit up Mr. Hamburger. You won’t regret it!

Stopped in for lunch and really enjoyed it! I had the Sarge Burger with pepper jack and avocado and my husband enjoyed the Ole Sparky. We enjoyed everything we tried. We’ll swing by next time we drive through!

Adorable vintage restaurant. Seating available inside or outside. The burgers are great and the fries can be upgraded with additional flavors. Free refills inside.

I know what you're going to say, it's just burgers and fries. But what burgers and fries! I had the Texican (with bacon , avocado, and pico. And a side of chili cheese fries. Every bite was amazing. 7 other people had almost everything on the menu and not one bite was left behind. Everyone agreed it was the best.

On a repeat visit it is still excellent. Sadly the chili is gone :( Bring it back if you can! I will not deduct any stars for that, they were already above 5 stars. Now they are just 5 stars. Go if you are in the area.

Awesome food!! The staff are so amazingly friendly. Their burgers taste like homemade. The chicken sandwich was cooked to perfection and the hub is enjoyed his burger as well.

We keep coming here from Conroe. Well worth the drive. The garlic parm frys are to die for ... literally speaking if you were living your last days across the street. Seriously amazing fry's and incredible burgers.

Unbelievable burgers. The fries were great. Onion rings were acceptable, even if they were stingy with how many you get. Very nostalgic place.

Discovered Mr. Hamburger from the YouTube channel "The Texas Bucket List" and added it to my list of stops on my road trip. I got the "Old Sparky" with regular fries. Like the electric chair it's named after, the flavors electrocuted my tastebuds with flavor in every bite.

The fried patty was very intriguing and the following notes from the sauce sent me to another flavor dimension. As strange as it may sound, I felt the veggies and condiments really complimented the burger. The fries were good, but a little too crispy for my personal preference.

I received good customer service from the two workers that served me and based off of my experience I would recommend Mr. Hamburger.

To travelers such as myself, the parking lot is behind the establishment and the drive thru wraps around the building. The building was formerly a gas station and has lots of memorabilia of the former days as well as prison related items. There are many stories of inmates getting out of prison having their freedom meals at Mr. Hamburger, as well as stories of death row inmates requesting Mr. Hamburger as their last meals.

This place was awesome! I had the hatch burger with the Mexican style fries and both were so good. My kiddo had the junior burger with just a Swiss cheese slice and he devoured the whole thing ! The staff was very friendly and they gave my toddler a top hat and stickers of Mr hamburger 😂

The Brisket fries are pure heaven! So crispy and tasty. The double burger is also delicious. We inhaled our food! I like the interior decor with all the nostalgic newspapers. Would definitely come back. Local hidden gem.

Had me a #1 all the way, the condiments where on point, fries, onion 🧅 rings I mean the works...large generous portions
Coke and topped with a Strawberry 🍓 Shake that was cold and thick

I went just before closing and he still welcomed me with a smile the burger was the best I've ever had and was made by Tommy he truly put his foot in the food from the burger to the fry and the shake truly a treat if you can try it I would most definitely recommend

This place is a Texas Historical Classic. Nearby is the famous Huntsville, Texas Prison where many people have eaten their first taste of freedom after lockup. It is said that some have even requested Mr. Hamburger specials as thier last meal... but i know my wife and i will be coming back soon for the fantastic burger specials. Great parking areas and Highly Recommended.
