Great casual spot, upstairs and downstairs area, a little arcade off to the side, and awesome drinks. They have a great long selection, its on 5th right next to Floppy Disc Repair, and close to Rainey and 6th. The drink selection here was really awesome with local draught selections and a great range of well drinks. I got a vodka mixer which was really tasty (not too sweet, not too strong). Definitely a place I'd recommend trying when you're visiting Austin.

Fantastic downtown bar with both the rooftop concept and a standard inside bar. The furniture and decor is super-kitschy. Great selection of adult beverages available. I didn’t order food. Highly recommended!

Handlebar has a great rooftop bar. There's two bars up there along with games and a projector screen to watch whatever is up there. When I went they were showing spongebob squarepants. If you haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and go.

Two floors: club vibe on the first floor, sports/games on the top patio. It's a little off 6th street, but worth the extra block walk.

This is a great casual little bar in Austin, TX! They have a nice rooftop and the atmosphere is fun. The name HandleBar is well-exhibited in the decor via many handlebar mustaches. :-)

Great bar with a convenient location. The rooftop is beautiful, football projected on the wall. Daily drink specials are affordable and inventive. Bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. Even on a weekday this was a fun place to grab a drink and meet some locals. The music left sometime to be desired.

Fun, relaxed atmosphere with a nice roof deck and games.

One of the best rooftop bars I have been too. Friendly staff and patrons, classy but not fancy- laid back. Lots of beers and liquor. Bar games included with the awesome city views. Roof is tented in clear plastic during winter- makes it a great place year round. There is also a downstairs bar with lots of draft beers. Mustache themed so make sure to ask for a ride!

Love the laid back atmosphere, many levels, dancing or chilling both welcome with rooftop live music and SEE-SAW! Always great music. Even the bartenders have a great time at this true Austin hot spot. Thursday and Sunday night music here are fantastic - Thursday night for dancing and drinks with friends out on the roof. Sunday night chill with a fantastic live band every time. Handlebar is keeping the Austin feel and I love you guys for that!

This is one of the best bars for me in Austin. They play amazing music and the rooftop is quite good with bar service prompt to provide drinks. It's very packed on the weekends and the dance floor in front of the bar makes it a must visit for a few quick drinks. The price is not steep and even students can afford it.

Went to Handlebar for our last night in Austin and wish we had found it on our first! The staff was very knowledgeable about their menu, and the bartender went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable (what with it being a rowdy St. Patrick's Day). Awesome beer selection and even more awesome staff. Hope to return soon!

Fun atmosphere with a great rooftop patio. On the patio there is a see saw and some old school animal rides (from when we were kids in 70's and 80's that were in front of the 5 and dime). Bartenders are all friendly and its an all inclusive bar.

Handlebar was neat. We wanted to go up on a rooftop so I had found out it has one. As we were walking up, we realized there was live music -- even better! The cocktails were great, which isn't a surprise. The fun bar games and playground equipment was also fun to see.

Great vibe. A real chill spot. I was looking for a place to smoke my cigars and have a drink. It didn't disappoint. They ha e a decent amount of local and import beers. Great spot for a night cap.

Handlebar is a gem. The continuity of awesome hasn't changed over the years, the bartenders are both beautiful and friendly, and the drinks are decently priced for the location. This is a great place to take friends from out-of-town to show them the city, but still avoid Dirty 6th. One of the best rooftop patios in town for happy hour!

Interesting internal structure with winding stairs leading to an open air roof/deck area. Bartenders know their craft and made great suggestions. The crowd was average early 20s to 40s, and everyone was generally quite nice. Anyplace that plays the original Ghostbusters (at least that's what was playing when I went) projected on a brick wall on the roof has my vote.

This is one of the funnest bars around, There's plenty to do here and a great spot to meet new people. The rooftop is basically a drunk adult playground with seesaws and giant Jenga. Their choice of music is much better than most bars too.
This is definitely a bar to check out!
