Rennovated by a new owner. Front office staff are kind and courteous. Location is good. We will stay here again.

Our stay was delightful. The beds were clean. The tv had many channels. The room had two beds and we brought an air mattress since we had five people staying. You are allowed to have as many people in a room as you wish. It only had heat and no AC, so it was very warm, but cooled down at night. We decided to leave a day early and they refunded us for that day completely. The workers are very polite.

It was definitely a great stay. The accommodations were comfortable, really fairly priced, and peaceful. The staff was friendly, the scenery is to die for, and there are plenty of good things to do nearby. My only real concern is that the motel's internet could be stronger. It's not particularly strong and good internet would help make up for the area's complete lack of cell service through many carriers such as Verizon (though, if you have U.S. Cellular, you shouldn't experience any phone issues once you settle into your room). Bar that, I got a good rest to fuel a great weekend, and I would suggest this motel if you want to stay in the area.

SUPER inexpensive! And they, somehow, had Wifi which was super solid after have No Service all day. Not the swankiest place of all time, but it's exactly what you need when you need it! Front desk squad is friendly. Bring your shampoo, tho.

It has beds that seemed to be clean. It has running water. It has a roof. It has wi-fi. If these are your criteria for a place to stay while traveling through WV, then Thompson's can't be beat. I stayed here for one night while doing some fall sightseeing on the motorcycle and was 100% satisfied. The place has all the essentials, felt completely safe, and the staff are friendly and competent. I recommend getting dinner at the Fireside Cafe next door, provided you're not in a hurry.

Humble and economical, Thompson’s provides just what you need if you’re looking for a place to rest your heads free of distractions like a swimming pool or tavern in walking distance. Clean tub and shower; looks new. Friendly manager. Internet worked great for my iPhone 12 but my 2015 Macboook Air had problems. Walk over to the Hollow for a great breakfast or dinner including 3 types of steak. I wish they would get rid of all the spiders outside the doors though. One even got into our room.

We love it! Little old fashioned hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We've stayed there twice now and will be back as often as we can.

A vintage motel in a cute town. Clean and personal. It was a refuge from the rain on a motorcycle trip. Would stay there again.

For a roadside motel it is all you could ask for. Price is right and staff is super friendly.
