Livia Italian Eatery

I recommend a visit to this typical Italian restaurant where you will find plenty of culinary attractions. Fantastic food, very nice and professional service. everything we ordered there was very good. An ideal place to visit for the whole family and couples who want to spend a nice and tasty time together. The restaurant is located in a beautiful part of the city and after a successful dinner you can go for a wonderful walk. I recommend this place.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Livia Italian Eatery in Geneva, Illinois, and it turned out to be an exceptional culinary experience from start to finish.

To kick off the evening, we decided to explore their drink menu, opting for the wine on tap and sampling their old fashioned signature drinks. The wine was a delightful surprise, boasting a rich flavor that complemented our meal perfectly. The old fashioned cocktails were expertly crafted, striking the ideal balance of sweetness and strength. A great start to our dining adventure!

Moving on to the appetizers, we indulged in a trio of culinary delights: lobster bisque soup, Tuscan shrimp, and eggplant with garlic bread. Each dish was a masterpiece in its own right. The lobster bisque was velvety and rich, the Tuscan shrimp burst with vibrant flavors, and the eggplant with garlic bread was a sublime fusion of textures and tastes. It was undeniably one of the best appetizer experiences we've ever had.

For the main course, I opted for the Lobster Diavolo, and my wife chose the Filet Mignon. The lobster was a standout, cooked to perfection and served with a tantalizing sauce that enhanced its natural sweetness. The Filet Mignon was tender, succulent, and grilled to our exact specifications. Livia's commitment to culinary excellence was evident in every bite.

However, the true star of the show was the dessert. We concluded our meal with the Tiramisu, and without exaggeration, it was the best we've ever had. The layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and velvety mascarpone were a heavenly combination. The balance of flavors and the delicate texture made it an unforgettable conclusion to a fantastic meal.

The atmosphere at Livia Italian Eatery was warm and inviting, and the attentive staff added to the overall positive experience. From the impeccable appetizers to the mouthwatering main courses and the divine tiramisu, Livia Italian Eatery exceeded our expectations on every front. This is undoubtedly a restaurant we will return to, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience in Geneva.

I came to Livia for a birthday dinner and had a great time. Our server Justin was very courteous and checked on us routinely. The ambiance was great and relaxed. We ordered two appetizers and two pasta entrees, all of which was delicious. The portion sizes are reasonable. My pasta was a bit undercooked and chewy but otherwise it’s a great place. They update their menu seasonally.

First time here and we will definitely be back. Our waiter Jaime was terrific. He recommended an appetizer and it was delicious. Eggplant and shrimp. You must try this. The pork chop was so tender and juicy and the lake superior whitefish was great.

Our group (2 sets of sisters, cousins to each other) was looking for lunch and to get out of the cold on Saturday during the Christmas Walk. Wow, did we find a good place!

Servers (Sydney, Tom and busser, young man whose name I didn't get) were all "on top of it"------great service of drinks and food.
(All 4 of us had the lobster bisque, which we thought was exceptional.)

When we stepped outside to leave, Tom came by and took some family photos for us. He could not have been nicer. Thanks, Tom!

Welcoming place with wonderful food and service. We made some lasting memories at Livia's that day. We'll be back.

Delicious food and great service! Don't be afraid to sit outside in one of the heated bubble tents. They are very cozy and warm! I ordered the crab cakes, they were fantastic. Vegetables were cooked perfectly. Staff was awesome and the food was served in a timely manner. The menu had a wide variety of options, from meats to seafood to salads. I definitely want to come back and try out the wine and dessert menus.

Had lunch out on the patio. Stuff were friendly and service was excellent.
I had the Italian wedding soup, Tuscan shrimp & eggplant and the pork chop. All were delicious but the Tuscan shrimp & eggplant was delightful.
Definitely go back to try the other dishes they had to offer.

Edit: Second visit was just as good as the first!
Had the Tuscan shrimp again which is a must if you go. Also had the Chicken Marsala and the Zucchini mozzarella fritters.

I love what I had so far!
My review of the food:
- pappardelle bolognese : good texture of noodles, perfect sauce, loved the shaved Parmesan on top! Great combo with the juicy meat!
- calamari and shrimp fritters were a hit! Very crispy and perfect texture inside.
- chicken Milanese was great! The chicken and the sauce were my fave. Noodles, perfect texture, but not my fave flavor!
- farmer chicken salad was so good!

Other things I tried from my other friends’ order that I would recommend:
- zucchini mozzarella fritters! SO GOOD. I don’t even like zucchini but I loved it cause it doesn’t taste like it!
- lasagna bolognese was good too! Generous portion.
- chicken limone was good.

Over all very kind service!

My favorite because the menu has so many great choices. The food tastes like they found one of Chicago's finest chef! The atmosphere mix of modern and traditional feel. Wait staff very friendly. I will return often! Try the Chicken Milanise! It's all great though! You won't be disappointed!

The food was phenomenal, I do recommend the honey ricotta cheese as an appetizer, we ordered the lasagna and the salmon and they were delicious! The service was great, this is a wonderful place to have a snack or a great meal!

Fantastic food. Wished I would have brought my get smart cone of silence to mute the noisy group next to us.

Very nice place, cool outdoor seating and great waiters/waitresses. Food servings are huge, Lasagna was easily a two person dish! On Geneva’s nicest street I think

We stopped in for happy hour and got cocktails and the wild mushroom ragu. The ragu was suggested by one of the bartenders and it was delicious. Be sure to ask for some bread to soak up all of the cream sauce.

I ate lunch with my fiance for her birthday during Swedish Days. The food was very delicious and priced right. Our server was great also. I'll definitely go back!

My wife and I received some holiday gift cards for the restaurant group who own Livia and Gia Mia. We decided to give this place a try on an early Friday night... it was relatively quiet still at 4:45 & we enjoyed personal attention from many of the wait staff in dropping off/clearing away our dishes. The lobster bisque and mushroom ragu apps were creamy and tasty without being too small or too much. I had a great Italian Amber beer on draft and my wife had lemony vodka, elderflower, and basil cocktail which was refreshing. Our main courses were eggplant pesto parmigiano and chicken marsala which were rustic, tasty, and filling... can't wait for the leftovers today!
Dessert was tiramisu and an espresso shot..the perfect compliment to the meal. Great food, great service, nice vibe... you won't be disappointed.

The chicken salad was a meal in itself - amazing combinations of flavors and textures... the steak and lamb entrees were the best we have ever had.

We just wanted a cup of coffee and Tiramisu.

Great spot on third street. Lively atmosphere, can be a bit noisy inside. The short ribs were excellent. Tortellini were massive and equally tasty. We also had the bread pudding and tiramisu, bread pudding is highly recommended. Nice drink and wine selection. Service friendly and prompt. Great option for dinner at fair prices.

I live in Wisconsin and had a problem with the e-card and could not get it resolved after talking to an employee and then a manager on duty the night I called about it. As I had an unexpected trip to Illinois, I went to the restaurant to hopefully get the issue resolved in person. Tom couldn’t have been more helpful and willing to resolve the issue. He listened and responded in a way that completely gave me a different view of Livia’s attention to customer service than my contact with the employee and manager with whom I spoke earlier. Tom’s personal attention, understanding, empathy, and willingness to solve to problem made all the difference in my impression of the company. Tom single- handedly moved me from the earlier negative impression of the company to a positive feeling and the hope of being able to recommend the restaurant to my Illinois friends and family. Tom gets five stars!

Service was very professional, though not quite as attentive as it might have been, apparently due to high customer/staff ratio when we visited. The menu selections and food quality were exceptional - nothing was really typical of Italian restaurants, although similarly named, but everything was absolutely delicious. We ate outside, and it was very pleasant.
