This was such an incredible discovery. The atmosphere is so classy and cozy. Every dish was out of this world. We had the duck and chicken dishes followed by crème brûlée and key lime pie and a couple of pomegranate cosmos. Just spectacular, every dish. They have their own homemade organic bread. And if that wasn’t good enough, the service was simply the best. You can not go wrong visiting this exquisite establishment. A definite must. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Had an absolutely wonderful experience. Our server was so much fun and personable, fun to talk and laugh with. She was also very knowledgeable about the menu and able to help when we needed. The food was exceptionally fresh and light, so we ate hearty portions and never felt stuffed by any means. Truly appreciate the experience and cannot wait to return. Oh my Gatos, get the house pistachio ice cream!

The Best of the Best.
We visited Joshua's for the first time on July 28th during Covid-19. It was a hot evening, but their outside tent was perfect. Carpeting on the floor, lights, flowers, mosquito netting, and fans made the space elegant and romantic. The tables were spaced out so it felt very private. The waitress, Savannah, was outstanding...professional, friendly and efficient. Cocktails were served and then our food began to arrive. From the incredible bread basket to the appetizers of chicken skewers and the most amazing tomato salad with buratta and their own farm fresh tomatoes, we knew we were in the right place. We had the lamb and salmon for entrees and both were presented and cooked to perfection. The flavors were exquisite. We finished the meal with creme brulee and homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream in which you could taste the fresh mint used to make it. Joshua's was truly one of the best meals we had ever eaten and will definitely be a must to do when in Wells, Maine. This is a special place.

Joshua's is the best restaurant we've eaten at in Maine. We try to get there twice during our short visit each spring. I order the fish special; my husband gets a meat dish. Both are always delicious. Tonight, we added salad and dessert. Wait staff were, as always, friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself takes you back to a time when things were made to last and quality in everything mattered. Thank you, Joshua's!!

Came back for more! Everything as superb as ever - and in a socially distant environment. Perfection.

Eating at Joshua's really makes our vacation. I called a week in advance to get reservations for two nights. I had salmon and haddock; my husband had the filet and rack of lamb. Salad and mushrooms before the entres, and the first night, we treated ourselves to the key lime pie for dessert. The wait staff, as always, was delightful.

I will dream about these meals until we return next year. Totally divine - every last morsel! Thank you, Joshua's!

Yes, we happily returned to Wells and Joshua's. Tonight, my husband had the filet and I had the salmon. Aren't they stunning? I had to restrain myself long enough to take photos before diving in. Unfortunately, neither one of us had that discipline when the Caesar salad and shrimp appetizer arrived. Everything, right up to the keylime pie and coffee, was once again out of this world. Thank you, Lily, for your great service and wonderful memory!!

Great place to come and relax and enjoy the atmosphere. My wife and I split the pork tenderloin which was superb with really good flavors. She had a really good Arugula salad and I had the caesar salad. The broccoli soup was excellent. Service was excellent as well.... our waitress was very attentive. Thank you for making it a great experience! We will definitely go back again.

Hey if this info helped you in any way please like for me. God Bless!

One of the best restaurants in York county. Always consistent. Organic vegetables grown on premise. Great menu and cocktails. Delicious food and good portions. Highly recommend.

An outstanding American bistro featuring locally sourced ingredients. We make it a point to eat there once every time we visit the area. The dishes are consistently excellent, imaginitive and well executed. They also have a solid wine list.

My wife and I had an exemplary dining experience last evening at Joshua's. Due to a shortage of staff, the restaurant is operating at less than half capacity. We were lucky to be able to score a reservation when we called more than two weeks ago. We were warmly greeted at the door by one of the owners. Heather, our server, was exceptional and added much to the pleasure of the experience. She was attentive and efficient without being overbearing. Her smile was infectious. Heather was very knowledgeable about the menu items and about the restaurant itself, offering us interesting tidbits of information over the course of the evening. Oh yes, the food!! Gormet and exceptional do not adequately describe the delicious appetizer and entrees. My wife savored the Vegetarian, while I relished the delectable Swordfish dish. The fresh vegetable medley could have been an entree in itself! The restaurant is not inexpensive, but it's a treat well worth the cost.

I had heard a number of good things going into visiting here, but I was blown away by the food. Everything I got was absolutely delicious. The beef brochette starter was so tender and tasty. For a main course I got home made cavatappi. I just can't iterate enough how delicious the meal was. On top of that, the delicious and diverse homemade bread basket was exciting to try out with a good variety of tasty fresh bread. They also advertise about the organic self grown veggies, and they don't mess around with them, they were the best veggies I've probably ever had.
The only thing to take note of is that this is a fine dining experience, so expect to pay for that, but if you're willing to pay for that, it's extremely worthwhile. My party got there at 7, and they were out of lamb and haddock, which I didn't care about since I wasn't planning on getting either of those dishes, but could be disappointing if you were, and something to possibly inquire about before hand.
One final note is that the menu online versus in the restaurant was slightly different, which surprised me, but was welcome, since the cavatappi I ordered was not on the menu I saw online, but I was excited to try and would recommend to anyone visiting. I'm not sure if the difference in menu is temporary or just not updated yet, but something to pay attention to for sure.

Overall, while pricey, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fine dining experience.

From out of town and recommended to try Joshua by our friends as a must-go restaurant in the Ogunquit area. Kate was our server and the absolute best. We got crab cakes, the chicken and the swordfish - all incredibly flavorful and clearly fresh from the farm. The fudge cake with mint chocolate chip ice cream was to die for. Highly recommend! We can’t wait to come back.

Joshua's came highly recommended, and proved to be quite worthy of the recommendation. We were told that most of the food is locally sourced, and based on the freshness and distinct flavors, great care is taken when gathering the ingredients for each dish. There is a wonderful melding of flavors and aromas that made for superb dishes. Our waiter, Brad, was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Brad was accessible without being overbearing, friendly without being intrusive. Our daughter chose a salad and a pasta, while my wife and I had entrees. My wife chose the duck, with delightfully crisp skin and perfectly moist and thoroughly cooked meat. I had the salmon special with an eggplant finish: both were superb. Joshua's is in a historic building, which is cozy and inviting. In spite of the number of people dining while we were, sound levels were very good, and it was easy to hold a conversation. Reservations are necessary, as each seating while we were there (and not in prime season) was full. Joshua's is an excellent choice for a memorable dinner.

We didn’t love the restaurants in Wells, until Joshuas. Excellent food, excellent service from start to finish. Our server recommended the strawberry martini as a special feature. Tasted great. Apps, entrees all excellent. We ordered dessert and it came with ice cream. Asked for a recommendation and she recommended the Mint chocolate chip, mentioned that it comes from the farm mint leaves. I’ve never had ice cream like that. Literally tasted farm fresh and after eating it that’s probably what all mint ice cream is supposed to taste like. Recommend this place for a great night out!

Fabulous food and warm helpful service. Make reservations ahead. We had the wood grilled mushrooms for an appetizer. They are marvelous, simple, delicious. Sauces were layered with flavor, complex and yummy. Everything was made on premises, homemade and thoughtfully prepared with fresh, local ingredients. I could have made a meal on the wonderful homemade bread and those mushrooms. Dessert was great too! Every mouthful was tasty. Can't wait to go back.

Great meal and great service. Wonderful place overall. We've celebrated my friend's birthday there for years. Crab cakes and duck pate to start. Then rack of lamb and the special scallop dish for entrees. All exceptional

A lovely dining experience. There was not a negative aspect to be found. From the hostess, to the bartender to our server, everyone was so very pleasant, creating a calming atmosphere.
The menu is perfect, including daily specials. Offerings for the most discerning palate.
Portion was perfect for me, however for those with larger appetites, you might consider ordering an appetizer or side salad.
I'm planning my next visit.

Been here a few times and always have a great experience. Most recently our party had the crab cakes and mushroom appetizers, lamb, duck, filet, and halibut. All were amazing as expected. Service was wonderful. Very reasonable prices for the quality of food here. Only downside is that it's hard to get a reservation during tourist season, a result of Joshua's continued success.

Had a fabulous dinner here. I had a stuffed chicken that was fantastic and my wife had a duck breast with leg confit that was delicious. Very nice presentation and friendly waiter that was very willing to help with menu recommendations. Had a nice selection including local beers on the menu. I have to at least mention the amazing bread selection with freshly churned butter they brought out also. I think I could have been happy with an entire meal of just that! Awesome 👍

This is the real deal! Family owned and operated. They grow the organic vegetables you get to enjoy in the delicate dishes prepared in the kitchen. Great understanding of balanced flavors and textures. Do not miss on the homemade bread. To top it all, the service is excellent.
