Hoarders Trading Post

We love this shop. It's like the Graham Crackers of the music underground. Great selection of obscure records as well as new, you could easily spends hours flipping through the inventory. They also have rolling shelves full of used audio equipment. We walked out with a record player and Superbowl Shuffle on VHS.

Too many boutique shops out here in the burbs try to take advantage and capitalize on the recent vinyl surge. This shop stands apart and is a welcome addition to the area. #GoBears

Really nice guy. He allowed us to explore his records in order to help build our collection. He builds off your music taste and offers you even better! This man has got a great history on his stuff. You can for sure tell that he takes pride in what he does. As he should! This place tops any Chicago record store. Me and my girlfriend will be making our way back there!

Such a good spot! The man working really knows his stuff, knows how to keep a good conversation, and is the absolute coolest dude me and my boyfriend have ever come across. He gave us a head start on our collection with such great history. We will definitely come back in hopes that he can keep educating us. :)

Blown away the moment I first walked in. The owner is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Selection of vinyl is excellent and fairly priced. Definitely a must visit for any music enthusiast near Chicagoland, whether a newcomer or seasoned audiophile.

Very knowledgeable and friendly. I never leave without buying several vinyl lp's. Good selection of used and new. My go to place for vintage vinyl. Prices are reasonable. I've never had a bad experience there.

This place is AMAZING. I could spend all day and a lot of money there. I was not prepared, went on my birthday to check out and maybe grab a record or two. I should have had way more funds with me because there was so much I NEED that this place has. Vintage and new stock. New old stock. Records, CDs, tapes, DVDs, Books, Equipment. It is a mecca of audio. This place deserves all the business we can give it.

Quite literally THE greatest record store I've been to. Honest prices, insanely good selection, and I've had hours of joy just rifling through it all. Russ is honest, immensely knowledgeable, and I'm very glad to have the pleasure of sharing the same enthusiasm about some awesome records with him every time I come in. I've purchased numerous records here, as well as a fantastic vintage turntable, receiver, and speakers. Only the highest praise for this place - and even that's not enough. Best selection of vintage stuff around, feels like you're diving into music history, and you're never getting nickel & dimed here. This place is pretty much the reason I got back into collecting records, so you definitely won't be disappointed.

This place is fantastic, they have tons of vinyl, and at very good prices, quite a few cassettes and cds as well. You need some KISS socks? or Ozzy Osbourne socks, well he's got that covered. The owner really seems to know his stuff, and wow is he a nice guy, super friendly and really seems to care about making his customers happy. And wow the vintage audio equipment he has is insane, and the prices are super, make sure to visit Hoarders Trading Post and I bet you'll be back real soon to check out more awesome stuff... This place is absolutely heaven to be at! Great place to relax, meet new friends and discover new music. Its a very welcoming store to all tastes. The owner is super enthusiastic about the store and music! Wide selection of records, CD's, cassettes, electronics and few other little fun things here and there. Everything is well cared for! Always getting new collections and newly released records in, so there is always something new to look at every time you go in! My favorite place to go!

This is the BEST RECORD STORE in the Chicagoland. My weekly go place.

Reasonable and nice.. good way to get stuff off your hands you were hoarding for no reason!

This place blows away any other record store I've been to. Anytime I come I never leave empty handed. Owner is really cool. I've even found OG pressings still in the shrink from back in the day..

I go in to this store often. The owner Russ always gives me some kind of deal. It is my favorite record shop around. Great selection, deal bins, great owner, and great music playing while you shop.

This place is great! Packed full of vinyls so you're sure to find something for you. The owner is nice and I can't wait to go back!

Tons of records everywhere in this store. Budget some time, it's a full place. Recent arrivals section is large and full of favorites and not so easy to find titles. He also has a "high value" rare vinyl (several bins!) section full of extremely hard to find titles. Saw a large number of rare records that took me years to find. Here there were all in one place! Everything from Peter Murphy, Chameleons and The Cure to Black Sabbath and other rarities. The "budget" section is even larger, with lots of records under $10. Punk section is also chalk full of nice stuff like Firehose, Misfits, Clash. Also has tons of used audio components for sale. Worth the drive.
