Ok, so I may behind the times with this spot, however that being said…
MY GOD! This place is absolutely incredible!
I travel frequently and eat vegan spots all over the place, and this is hands down the best damned sammy I’ve had anywhere!
I had to run errands uptown and was thinking it’s the perfect opportunity to hit them up.
I’m literally shaking my head on how much time I wasted before today.
Vegans unite and protect this jewel of our city!
Non-vegans get out and give them a try!
I cannot recommend them enough.
Pickup/outdoor seating only!
Parking can be dicey.
But it’s all worth it, I promise you and if you follow any of my other posts, I’ve not led you astray yet.

First timer here and OMG...these sandwiches were A•M•A•Z•I•N•G!! The bread alone is worth mentioning, but the bread with the fixins... it's a party in the mouth. A beautiful balance of savory, tang, crunch, and creaminess. We tried the Pesto and Buffalo sandwiches. I can't wait to try more of their menu!!

I'm a meat eater, and I love the stuff. But I'm also someone trying to be more cognizant of the effects it has on the world as well as how a plant based diet is probably better for my health. So lately I've been more and more open to alternatives.

I've heard about Buds, great things, numerous times actually in my 6 years living in SLC. After a couple weeks of vacations indulging on "vacation meals", I decided on Monday to finally give it a shot.

...I've now eaten there 3 out of the last 4 days for lunch.

It is absolutely delicious. I've gotten the Italian Cold Cut twice, and the Buffalo Chicken once - both excellent, and I can't wait to keep exploring the menu. I bet if I gave a bite to my carnivore friends and didn't tell them what the ingredients were made of, they'd be totally fooled. Staff so far have always been great. Sandwiches have taken 5-10 minutes each time. Great prices too. I'm officially team Buds.

I’ve come here countless times over the years of living in Salt Lake. This is the best sandwich shop around. The pesto sub is my go-to. Amazing food - and super cheap. Cheers to the Buds staff and crew for the best subs in Utah!

Buffalo sandwich and the lavender lemonade were phenomenal! Great portions for such an affordable price and for those who aren't vegetarian or vegan, you can barely tell it's not real chicken. Wait was a little long but it was busy and the weather was nice out. Great, casual place to catch up with friends.

my partner and i are regulars at buds- we eat here usually a couple times a week for lunch. the food and service are always excellent! my regular order changes from time to time and everything i’ve ever ordered has been great! i love that they periodically switch up the menu and have always kept the prices fair. ☺

This plant-based sandwich shop is so delicious!!! I tried the Buffalo and Pesto sandwich, the lavender lemonade, and the zucchini cookie. I was surprised at how the managed the sandwiches to taste like actual meat. And the bread was so crunchy and soft. I will be coming back here for sure! 10/10

Buds is the very best VEGAN lunch spot in Salt Lake City. I eat here multiple times a week. Super friendly staff, very tasty and quick service. I have never had a bad experience here and I highly recommend buds to anyone! Even you meat eaters. Because I am sure you couldn’t even tell the difference.

Buds is so good! So happy to find an all-vegan sandwich shop! My favorite is definitely the Cheesesteak with pesto and the zucchini cookie which is made fresh daily. The first time we ordered from Buds, the bread was a bit too stiff but we ate the sandwich 30 minutes after receiving it. So the sandwich is best eaten immediately to keep the freshness of the bread.

Due note, there is always a line and about a 20-30 minute wait outside with no dining space. The outside dining space is closed. Best to order ahead of time online so it’s a quick pickup.

Overall, love this place!

I ate the first half before i could snag a photo. The pesto was absolutely incredible. Vegan or not vegan, everyone can agree on a solid sub to keep the good times comin! Definitely recommend especially to skeptics.

We will drive many miles for these sandwiches. Sometimes we make up a reason we need to visit SLC and darn, we need lunch soooo Bud's it is. I crave these sandwiches. They are loved by vegan and non-vegan friends and family. If you haven't tried them, you are missing out! Do yourself a favor and try ALL of their sandwiches.

One of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm a huge deli meat kind of guy but these sandwichs were outstanding! High recommend this place to anyone!

I am a vegetarian who prefers to eat vegan; My husband is a carnivore who is open to trying alternatives. We found this place for lunch one day and we were blown away. We had a Philly and pesto chicken, and we both agreed we preferred the Philly (1000000/10); however, the pesto chicken was still great and very fresh-tasting (7/10)! The Philly has a smoky cheese-like spread on it that is to die for. Idk what they do to make their faux steak, but wow… you have to try it!

We also tried a zucchini chocolate chip cookie. If you like cookies and zucchini bread, you’ll love it! & the lavender lemonade was super refreshing. Went very well with the sandwiches and cookie. :)

We found ourselves there a second time just a couple weeks later because we were craving the Philly. We decided to get a bahn mi to try as well. The bahn mi was so good (9/10)—The only thing that could make it better is a lemongrass au jus dipping sauce.

Aside from food, the place itself is super cute. I like ordering at the window and then sitting outside to eat. The tables outside haven’t been accessible recently, but hopefully that will change during the summer. The people that work there are always very friendly.

If you are looking for a fast and fresh sandwich joint, absolutely go here. You do not have to be vegan to love this food. My husband, not vegan, now asks me to go to Buds often!

This place fills a hole I didn’t even know was in my life. Found it because my sister came in town and she’s vegan, going back because it was one of the best sandwiches of my life. I can personally recommend both the Fresh Veggie and Mediterranean Veggie sandwiches but I also can’t wait to be back and try their other menu items. I also love their lavender lemonade because it’s not too strong and pairs great with the meal. Highly recommend making this place a regular place to visit!

Excellent sandwiches! The bread is that chewy & crispy hoagie roll, fillings are dialed and very tasty (nothing bland here) - pics of the Mediterranean & Buffalo & Banh Mi (my fav of the 3). Walk-up service was super pleasant, happy folks !

Bud's has always had reliably great food and service. Whoever's idea the cheeseburger cheesesteak was is a genius, you have to try it. It's my new favourite and it's so craveable that I had to leave a review.

Literally the BEST sandwich place I've ever gone to. I go here at least once a week (sometimes twice, shhh), but I would eat here every single day if I could. I've been coming to this place for many years now, and they're one of the very few places that hasn't really raised their prices - always keeping their food priced fairly, which is a HUGE plus in today's ever-inflating society. Fair prices for HUGE delicious subs, delicious cookies and brownies, yummy drinks, and the occasional special side (my favorite recently is their pesto pasta salad, YUM!). Love the owners, love the workers, love the atmosphere, LOVE the food! I've brought many meat-eaters here and they all say the same thing, that the sandwiches are some of the best or THE best they've ever had. Check it out for yourselves! :)

Probably my favorite sandwich spot in town! Checks all the boxes: fast, delicious, affordable and friendly folks. Plus a little healthier than standard fare since it’s vegan. I’ve tried all the sandwiches and recommend them all, that bread though 😋 Don’t miss the horchata cold brew!

Buds has great vegan sandwiches, made of jackfruit and all kinds of great flavors. You might also really like the zucchini chocolate chip cookies as well. Wish they were open all day, they have fairly limited hours.

Best food for the best price I’ve found since moving to Utah. I’m not a person who leaves reviews, but I’m moaning in my car eating cause it’s so good and my money was well spent.

It was so good that I can’t leave the 15 min parking, food coma, sorry if you can’t find parking cause of me.
