I took my wife to the ER yesterday for irregular heartbeat and chest pain. The entire staff in the ER were very attentive, pleasant, and professional. In particular, we were assigned to Ms. MICHELLE SMITH as the Registered Nurse (RN). Not only Ms. Smith was very professional in everything she did, my wife and I both strongly believe that she was amazingly courteous and helpful. In spite of the many patients Ms. Smith was assigned to, she showed ultimate diligence and consideration, as she was practically coming into the room constantly to make sure that my wife is comfortable and feeling better. Ms. Smith contacted all the necessary staff (for blood work and X-ray) and the attending doctor to ensure that everything was done and completed efficiently. Ms. Smith was so pleasant and courteous that she made us feel as if we had known her for years or we were part of her immediate family. We cannot express our gratitude and appreciation enough for Ms. MICHELLE SMITH for her professional attitude and wonderful personality.
Thank you Ms. Smith and Silver Cross for such an amazing experience.

My Daughter was there and had an amazing experience. They took care of her, and even me. I wanted to stay with her, and showed me how to get the hidden bed out. Way cool. She had a huge flat TV on the wall, and the shower/restroom was extremely large. Awesome treatment and tremendous treatment for my Daughter.
Thank You Dr's. and Nurses, Medical assistants, and Housekeeping was spectacular A+++++!

We had an amazing delivery and newborn experience here. My husband and I had a baby through surrogacy, which is outside of the normal day-to-day labor & delivery procedures. The hospital was so incredibly supportive and made this as easy as can be. The nurses at this hospital are simply amazing, we all got such great care. It was warm, friendly, supportive. I was really amazed at what a lovely experience this was, and I am so thankful for all of the nurses and care in both the labor/delivery and post-partum areas. THANK YOU!!

Maybe we just got lucky and went to the ER at a slow time. We got there about 5:30 p.m. and they admitted her and had her in a room upstairs by 10:30. Everyone that I encountered was pleasant and helpful. I do have to say that that is not always the case when we go. The last time we were there in the waiting room for 13 hours.

My mom was discharged prematurely with abnormal labs from NORTHWESTERN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL. She was nearly comatose in our home a few days later with calcium levels over 17 and her clotting factors were critically high(INR>29). ER nurses and Dr. Bamman specifically were caring and compassionate listeners and got things done and got her admitted in a timely way. Yes, the ER was packed with a several hour wait but the reality is that if you're truly critically ill or injured, you typically don't wait long. My mom waited about an hour, but when she got to the floor, the hospitalist wanted to move her to ICU.
Floor nursing and support staff was experienced, kind and had exceptional critical thinking to help get mom on her way back to Northwestern for emergent chemotherapy with a medication they don't give at SCH. I felt like the communication with mom's care team was exceptional and truly appreciate all the support my family got with such an unexpected diagnosis. The doctors all listened to my concerns, really HEARD me out and we were able to actively participate in her plan of care.
**Healthcare workers aren't robots! They are human beings who often put their hearts into helping others. I am forever grateful for these Knowledgeable and Skilled professionals for helping my momma.

I came into this hospital during the Thanksgiving Holiday. Found to have a large kidney stone. I went to the emergency room upon initial visit and nurse Stephanie and Gayle Sheetz MD were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They were very attentive to everything I was feeling and had felt. They listened every time I had a question or concern. I ended getting stint put in and had to stay overnight. I stayed in unit 5302. The room was clean and very well organized. I had multiple nurses and doctors come visit me during my time. I would love to give a special shout out to Nurse EMAN and Kathryn on that unit. They were AMAZING!!! If you have to go to the hospital this is the place to go. EVERYONE WAS AMAZING!! They made me feel like I was at home even though home was 9.5 hours away back in ALABAMA!

It was Christmas Eve and from the staff in the ER to being admitted, the care given to my dad was beyond expectations in spite of other reviews. I would especially like to thank Dr. McCormick, the ER doctor, for giving my dad Larry, immediate attention for his extremely high blood pressure, in which the additional tests also showed very low sodium and a high white blood cell count. The nurses, especially Sheila (unfortunately I do not remember all their names) were very kind, efficient and bubbly considering how busy they were on Christmas Eve. We were first given a room on the 6th floor with again, very kind, efficient and bubbly nurses (Bobbie and Re-mi and the male nurse who was ending his shift in 15 minutes). Because it was an overflow room, we were moved to the 4th floor with EJ (RN) and Alma his assistant. Just two more to add to the list of great staff. I know people will write reviews on negative experiences but I wanted to write one on our positive experience. I want to thank all of you for your compassion and dedication especially on a day that you should be with your family.

Had two of my babies born here via C-section. Both stays were great. Recent one was phenomenal. Nurses and CNAs were great. Baby boy is spending some time in the NICU and has progressed pretty quickly. Nurses in the NICU are all super nice and are quick to react when anything goes off in the room. Love how proactive the doctors are. The hospital is very clean.

Chantell Roberts performed an excellent level of professionalism and good patient care, we sat in that hospital for a very long time , but when I approached chantell Roberts and asked her for help she treated us with great respect, because the other employees they traded us as of our medical emergency, mattered. I understand that everyone is trying to be seen, but the other employees made us feel our well-being does not matter.

I can tell chantell Robert works very hard at her job to Ensure all patients feel heard and seen I truly appreciated her that night. I was terrified and she made me feel much better for listening to my concerns

Nursing Aid Austin, he was amazing with helping my mother with leaving the hospital. Couldn’t be any happier with the assistance we were provided. He went above and beyond for not only my Mom but went as far to compliment my car too haha. Hands down for Austin, nursing assistant!

My daughter just delivered her baby there. The staff was friendly, engaging and professional. The day my daughter checked in they were over 20 women giving birth, so it was a couple of hours before she could check in, however staff never shown signs of being tired. Shift changes were expedient and professional and smooth.
The only complaint was the visitor chairs in the birthing rooms., very uncomfortable. I'm sure the regular rooms are more comfortable.
I'm reading the reviews of other patients and I'm truly sorry for their experience and I'm praying those issues have been dealt with by the leadership team.
My daughter and her husband were treated very well.
Doctors and nurses worked as a team and didn't let their degrees get ahead of the patients. I say that because my daughter isn't the strongest when it comes to labor and the doctor on call was going to do a C section to ensure both baby and mother were safe, than her regular OB doctor showed up in time and was able to comfort and encourage my daughter through the delivery. I would say that's were experience comes in and I thanked both doctors and give all praise to GOD the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Have faith in all you do.

I spent time here as a student with the Inpatient Rehab team and loved every minute! The collaboration between all of the staff at SCH is great. I was recently here as a patient and can say I was very pleased with the experience. I was even called back 30 minutes prior to my scheduled time--always a plus! I would recommend Silver Cross to anyone in need of rehabilitation or outpatient services for sure!

I had back surgery here, and they were absolutely fantastic! All the nurses were very attentive and wonderful, especially Marianna. My first really good experience at a hospital.
Front desk, security, and the coffee shop were all super nice to my wife while she waited also.

I had 2 MRI's done at the same time. The check in was easy, took no time at all. I waited all of 3 to 4 min to get called back. I was treated with the upmost respect. I am disabled so it is hard for me to walk, they were extremely patient with me. I got ready. Was taken immediately to the MRI room. There they took extra steps to make sure I was in a position to not cause me any undue pain. This was a very long procedure, I was asked if I wanted to take a break. When it was finished, they quickly removed me from the machine, making sure I was OK. I was then taken back to the dressing room. I received my disks and was on my was. I love the treatment I receive from the people at Silver Cross! They actually care about the patient... your not just a name on a paper that they have to deal with!!!

This hospital save my life twice, and even though my body acted in the most vile manner ever because I had no control over my body. The staff was professional, caring and at its best when saving lives. The affection they show towards their patients is something you don’t see at other hospitals. The staff, Dr.‘s, nurses, etc, they are professional and deserve every credit they can get. For if I become wealthy I know I will donate a quarter of my wealth to them just because any great hospital as Silver Cross Hospital deserves it…. Thank you for the attention you give your patients and thank you for saving lives….. Sincerely RUDY

The doctors and nurses here definitely are top tier and 100% professional. The nursing staff in the ICU was just incredible, and every single nurse we had during our 11 day period in the ICU was amazing. They ensured not only that their patient was taken care of and got the best care possible, but that we (the family) were comfortable and as informed as we could be. They took care of my entire family and will forever be grateful of their service and care they provided.

However , the cafeteria was a little bit of a different story, for a place that finds family members waiting for a long period of time while a loved one is fighting for their life, they sure do play the most depressing playlist of music you’ve ever heard. 9/10 songs played on their cafeteria radio were about a loved one dying or dealing with loss. Why.

I just delivered my baby with Silver Cross and the experience I had was so amazing I needed to write a review. My labor was very quick, just under 8 hours, and staff worked very quick to make sure the process was smooth and that my pain was manageable. The birthing room was spacious, cozy, and offered a lot of amenities including a birthing tub, peanut ball, birthing ball, etc. The doctors and nurses were two steps ahead of everything and talked us through everything that was happening. I feel so lucky to have had them by my side during this life experience. The recovery room was also spacious and offered a bed for my husband. We only had to stay for one night but we were very happy with everyone we met there. The lactation consultant was extremely helpful and patient when teaching me how to breastfeed. They even had a professional photographer that came to the room and offered to take newborn pictures. Labor can be very scary but if you choose to go here, hopefully your experience will turn out as amazing as mine did.
