Ely Lake Campground

Beautiful! Very rustic so come prepared! Only a vault toliet, no showers. Limited running water.

There is a great trail around the lake that makes for an enjoyable walk. It's just over a mile all together. You can bring your dog, needs to be on a leash. Campsites placed all around the lake and appear to be well kept. We plan to come back to camp! It's 17/night from what we saw posted.

My favorite camping site by a mile. Nice and quiet, but not too far away from town if you end up needing some firewood or supplies.

I'd like to say that as kids and growing up we'd go fishing all the time there people were friendly,having little festivities ,and just the whole aspect of seeing smiling faces listening to music cooking outside it was a great time! It was almost like a nice change of pace ,the fresh air ....but my point is is that this place is the perfect place it has balance the sound and echo of the music in the distance the lights at night the voices from different sites ....well it was a great time but you know camping is fun it's not a funeral and to read of people trying to make camping a funeral service for everyone else shame on you to me Eli Lake campground has always been camping fishing cooking out friends music not to be made to act like we are in your personal library I encourage people to go to this campground take the kids the whole family and have a great time like I have since my younger days go feel the water feel the sun and most of all interact w others have fun that's what camping is all about I recommend this campground to anyone and everyone.Its the ideal campground for young and old

Great swimming hiking sites are big and there are trees! No electric but that makes it better

Perfect place. Almost no one there and all spots were clean and quiet.

Great campground! I have been going there as long as I can remember. The price went up this year and I was a little bummed until we arrived. They have taken care of the campsites more than I've ever seen. And the out houses are not horrible for the first time ever! I highly recommend ely lake to any rustic camping folks!

Okay I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and this place is amazing. Rustic camping with vault toilets and pumps for water. Dog friendly, people friendly. The mosquitoes are killer so be warned there’s a ton of them if you camp close to the lake. We brought some high deet bug spray and survived but I would be careful! One of the best rustic campgrounds in the area!

We have been camping here for many years, I saw this place go from good to a slow downward spiral over the years because of the loud party atmosphere day & all night long .... but I am glad to say this year has been the best it has been in a long time due mostly by Doug the new Park Ranger...he has turned this campground around because he cares enough to do more than some of the other Rangers of the years past ... he patrols more often, keeps the place clean, he gets to know the campers, which in turn they let him know what is going on when he is not around and he enforces the rules which keeps some of the undesirables out ...We just finished camping for this season and we are already looking forward to next year.... Thank you Doug for the great job that you do !

Weather was perfect this weekend before Memorial Day, mosquitos were out but not too numerous. This campsite is popular, better reserve weeks ahead. There are waterfront activities, like swimming, kayaking/canoeing, trails for walking and horseback riding. Check for ticks after your foray into the woods. Public toilets and water pumps round out the amenities.

It's about having family time. I came here as a kid and now I bring my kids to this campground. The only thing I could ask for is for someone to come around at night twice with a fogger just to take some bugs away

Good camp ground if you are just needing a base of operation while you explore different parts of the Dunes. There is water and a nice beach area to swim in. Campground is clean with running water and outhouse. Nothing fancy but a solid place to camp. 😁

Our go to family campground. We love the simple rustic forest. Swimming area is great for the kids. We've never had an issue with loud party people. Bring large pieces of wood for your fires and bug spray! Great lake to kayak too.

Been taking me kids here and we love it,. Taking my grands now! Just wondering if anyone knows the young lady and I'm guessing her dad, the drive a little a little red truck and sell wood. Thank you for the wood?

My two dogs and I had a great hike at Ely Lake Campground,,a sunny day in Michigan is a plus especially in January! We followed the yellow trail,,my first time here,, wasn't sure what to expect..but a positive experience all around.

So nice and very secluded.. if you like "glamping" forget it this is the real deal. $17 is also sweet.

Gorgeous campground. No amenities besides a pit toilet and potable water. Still....a great place to camp. Beautiful forest huge sites! Go here!

I love This Campground. It Is Amazing ! And I' Love The Young Lady Who Runs It .She Works Very Hard And I Would Love To See Her Stay .People Don't Realize When They Disrespect The Park They Also Disrespect The People Who Run It As Well As The State That Owns It
