Leisure Lake Membership Resort

Of all the campgrounds I have stayed in, which is a lot, this one is truly a resort. Super nice people, and accommodating. There are a few cons. Get a good water filter before staying here. The water is really rusty. I along with multiple of my co-workers stayed at different sites all over the park, so its not just one area of the park, and all had rusty water, it stained my toilet and I was using filters from day one. The only other issue is the noise from I-80. The section of the park I stayed in was right next to the highway, there were trees so you cant see it but you could literally throw a rock and hit the interstate and it was right before a bridge so every time a semi-truck hit the bumps before the bridge you heard it, trust me. Coworkers staying on the other side of the park said it was not that bad. It is a beautiful park, but the lot I was in, I couldn't enjoy sitting outside due to the noise. So, stay on the other side of the park, invest in a really good filter, not the inline filters from Walmart, like I did because they do not filter enough, and enjoy this great park.

Staff was SUPER friendly. We stayed for 5 days and enjoyed every day. Pool was nice. Kids loved the pond/beach area. Some people have complained about the sulfur smell in the water. Spend $20 on Amazon for a in-line filter and you will have zero smell. Definitely will be back.

**I took my entire family out to Leisure Lake for a three day weekend. Four generations, and everyone had a great time. The staff is Extremely friendly and helpful. Me & my Pops both caught a couple nice size Catfish, my little 5&7 yr old Nephews were excited they caught a few Blue gills. Even my Teenage Daughters enjoyed themselves at the Pool and swimming lake. We've decided to make this a yearly event

We love the peaceful atmosphere at Liesure Lake. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help you out.
The facilities are very nice and clean. The pool is rarely crowded and well maintained. We love staying here....

Made a recent trip to Colorado, and needed stops to and from. Leisure Lake was a great choice for that. Friendly staff and very nice sites for both one night stops. The grounds are very well kept and next time I will bring my fishing rod. Thanks!

The new Manager, Nancy Rodriguez, was very helpful, polite and pleasant. I was shopping around for the coming season. The grounds Manager Dan was very nice to show me around. I liked the Party room and the Lake the best. Much to offer. This is my first year doing this and I am looking forward to meeting many new friends.

THE RESORT IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! Nancy is the new general manager and is making great changes at the resort. She's friendly, calm and polite. She truly wants this to be the best resort in the Joliet area. I've been a member for years and enjoy all the resort has to offer. The place is clean and family friendly. If you are looking for a campground close to the city this is the place to be.

I just stopped by to see the house trailer that my friend had just purchased, but this property is beautiful. There is a lake/ or pond for swimming, and a separate one for fishing. Not to mention a smaller pool size area with water spraying for the kids. Almost everyone we drove past waved at us and the entire atmosphere seemed very friendly and welcoming. Like I said, I didn't actually stay there... But from what I saw, I would definitely recommend it to anyone, especially families.

We have been members for 8 years. The park is always maintained well and is clean and very well kept.

The people who run the place do a great job and have no nonsense attitudes to make sure the rules are enforced so that this stays the kind of park you enjoy bringing your family to.

I have always found them to be exceptionally helpful and easy to deal with. I have never heard nor seen any of them be unreasonable to anyone. If someone has had a bad experience, I am sure they asked for it in some way.

With all of the amenities and the great condition in which they keep it, it is a great place to call your second home!

Great place, great staff and great location!

I enjoy "getting away" from city life when I camp here but if you are from out of town and want to enjoy what Chicago has to offer it isn't too far to go sight see Chicago and/or the surrounding suburbs.

I thought I had clicked on the wrong park after reading some of the reviews of the staff but I have NEVER had a problem. To the contrary they have been very accommodating to me and my family. I have stayed at many parks and resorts but this is our "home". I have been a member here since 07 and my parents much longer. It is unfortunate that others who have been there don't share my enthusiasm but we all have different experiences in life I guess. Come visit with a open mind, ready to have fun (while following the rules) and I don't think you will be disappointed.

We have been RVing for several years and stayed at many campgrounds around the US, this very well kept campground is a treasure, a little hard to find but really nice. We have stayed there for the last 3 or 4 years in Aug, and Sept and enjoy the park and the weather we are going again in Aug this year. The manager is short and to the point, but that is just him, once you get to know him, he is a great person and will do anything to help you. If you are looking for a nice place in the Chicago area, this is it.

Superior campground! Excellent bathroom facilities , as clean as a hospital looks! Bathrooms & showers are all tile, pedestal sinks, hot air hand dryers, g. F. I to charge your phone while your showering. Work out room, and laundry facilities. I work residential remodel and new construction and this place really impressed me... Not a crooked toilet or lavratory, tile was level, excellent quality work! Very impressed by the cleanliness of this place no trash or even cigarette butts on the ground...! You can tell the owners don't have a problem with reinvesting money back into their investment... Lots of P. R. I. D. E in this establishment ! Professional Results In Daily Effort! Highly recommended! Oh and it's a gated campground !

I loved the many activities there. From fishing to paddle boating all the way to the free beach and miniature golfing. I'd also love to mention how beautiful and clean the facilities are. My only issue was the racism there. The majority race there is Caucasian to about 1% African American. My children and I were called names and was treated blatantly rude by several of the other members there. Although there were many who took kindly to our race and greeted us warmly and friendly. I'd definitely recommend this place to others, just stay to yourself and dont speak unless spoken to because its hard to decipher between the friendly and the not so friendly

We would recommend this spot to any vacationer or working man. The rules really keep things running smoothly. The features (pool, lake, volleyball, etc.) weren't available because of covid but I am sure on a good day you could keep busy all day. The resort is close to the town of Shorewood also a nice place to visit. We spent almost 5 months here and it felt like home. I found Mike very helpful and he invited us back anytime.

At first thinking about going out there I was like. Bah another campground. But after getting there, it's beautiful. I didn't have the chance to see the whole park but I was on a lot on the water. It's just amazing.

The staff was very helpful and friendly.
The sites was well kept and was concrete pads somewhat level.
Nice lake to fish. Very nice pool and beach area.
The price was very reasonable for a month stay.
Family oriented and very firm rules which we like.

This place is great! Everything is always so clean and well kept and the staff are always very friendly. There is so much to do right in the park and it’s a close distance to fun things to do in the city! I love it here and couldn’t say enough good things!

This place is a mini resort. Lake, pool, pool tables and the second best bathrooms we have seen. That includes a 7 month journey hitting 9 states. We are no novices to campgrounds. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Overall a great campground if you are debating a stay.

This is a beautiful park! Even without all of the amenities due to Covid regulations it is still a great place to stay! The spaces are a really nice size with plenty of room and the security of the keycard gate is one of the best things about the park :) If you are looking for a family friendly, safe, clean park this is it!

The ONLY place we will stay when in Joliet for work! Big grounds, beautiful lake, nice spots, and great staff. A bonus is that it's close to everything but feels secluded. The geese are a sight to see. The pups love it too!
