St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church

Having a latin mass near me was super important when deciding to move to Michigan. Once I looked at the schedule online, I knew this would be a wonderful parish. Fr. Acervo makes the sacraments available more than any priest I have met (especially for younger adults like me who can't normally make all the 9:00 am masses that most parishes do). He is doing a wonderful job, and its clear his priorities are in the right place.
Fr. Acervo wants his flock to be well cared for and proves it by having a sacrament-focused parish community. Having confession before basically every mass promotes reconciliation and the need for continual change with God's help. Having altar rails at mass promotes humbling yourself as you receive the Lord. Exposition of the blessed sacrament promotes an adoring and contemplative relationship with God. It's hard to find parishes that do all this with the frequency Fr. Acervo does.

He celebrates both novus ordo and extraordinary form masses with reverence, gives clear guidance during confession, focuses his homilies on Christ's teachings while arming us with knowledge and inspiration to overcome the temptations of the world, and did I mention the sacraments?

This is our family’s home parish! Father Acervo is a wonderful priest who offers both the TLM and NO, he offers confessions regularly. The parish is reverent and welcoming!

Fr. Acervo is a good priest and is clearly very holy.

St Edward's Parish is a wonderful place to be if you want to grow in holiness. Fr Acervo is phenomenal. Very much a shepherd to his sheep. He offers the Sacraments often. There are other opportunities offered during the year - Bible Study, Marian Catechist courses, Men's Night, K of C, Women's Night (started right before pandemic and then stopped), Parish Picnic, Tuesday night Rosary at the Church, Liturgy of the Hours w Benediction on Sundays, etc. Church is open daily. Eucharistic Adoration from 8:00am Thursday through 7:00pm Friday. Make a visit and feel God's Peace!

Beautiful church. Adoration was going on when I was there. Sister brought her class to pray, all children were respectful and behaved.

Fr. Acervo is doing a great job! This parish is very lucky to have such a kind and intelligent pastor. My husband and I were married at St. Edward on the Lake a little over a year ago, and we were very happy with the marriage instruction we recieved. Wedding guests said his homily at our wedding mass was the one of the best homilies they had ever heard. I no longer live in Michigan, so we miss attending this parish.

Went for a Requiem mass for a friend's family member, was very beautiful. Had seminarians chanting in the choir loft, very beautiful. I'm sure the seminarians were just for that though, so for a normal Sunday mass, I'm sure its still nice. Traditional from what I have heard.

A great, friendly and welcoming church family. The pastor, Fr. Lee Acervo is a quiet, prayerful man who works very hard to guide us through life with eye on eternity, keeping heaven as the goal. I've often found confort and instruction within his homilies and inspiration within his pray full offering of the holy mass.

My family has been going to this church since before I was born. It is a Catholic church with a wonderful priest. The church is beautiful inside and out. If your Catholic and looking for a church I recommend going here.

I don't know why the review stars page only let me push one and turned off. But I want to correct it. I think this is a 5 star Church with all the activities and Bible studies and Children programs and men's groups and social events. The piety of Father Acervo shines through everything
