Cuts By The Bay

My son and I stumbled upon this place yesterday and decided to get his hair cut. Casey cut my son's hair and did a PHENOMENAL job. My son was so happy! Casey was patient, meticulous, and so pleasant!
I did not catch the name of the other barber working that day, but he deserves recognition. My son said something out of sorts and this wonderful man jumped in and corrected him in such a fatherly and firm respectful way. The whole atmosphere between the two of them was truly wholesome and old- school. It left me feeling like I had at least one place that was the small- town, old fashioned way of life I have always wanted. Thank you both, we will be back, and God bless you both and anyone else who works for or steps foot into your beautiful establishment.

Paul is the most talented barber in northen Michigan with great attention to detail. Takes great pride in all his cuts and wants people to know who was behind their fresh cut. I’ve been getting my hair cut by him for over 20 years now and no matter where I go in my travels the cut just isn’t the same as cuts by the bay

Great haircuts, so friendly I don’t usually talk with my barbers at home but the guy I had made me feel like I was back home! Loved it will go back if I need another while I’m up there.

I visited from the UK whilst working in the area post a google/Facebook search to find a great barber shop for a haircut and shave. Casey (hope I spelled it correctly) served me and was wonderful and did a really good job in a very relaxed manner. I may well visit again if in the area!!!

Paul was amazing, completely rescued my boyfriends hair after a bad haircut. Cannot recommend this place enough!

You could say I have a complex about my hair or the lack of it. Then I met Paul in 2020. I came in for a cut after multiple recommendations and I gotta say that man is a wizard! I sat down in his chair for the first time and he just did his thing and the cut was absolute perfection. If he ever leaves Petoskey I don’t know what I’ll do. So if you want service with style and a chance to sit in some old high school auditorium seats and watch golf while having a beverage this place is the ticket.

Our kids were a little nervous to try a new barber while we were on vacation in Petoskey, but they really ended up liking it at Cuts By The Bay. The barber and owner was very nice and great with kids and fun to talk to. The haircut was way better than the big-box chain we use at home. We'll be back!

Since moving to Petoskey from Seattle it has been beyond difficult to find a good barber. This is hands down the BEST barber in northern Michigan. So glad I found this gem. Paul and the crew at the shop do an outstanding job! I have never once walked out of the shop unsatisfied, and I am especially picky when it comes to a good haircut. Besides the cut, the shop gives you the opportunity to communicate with fellow patrons in the shop. Cuts by the bay exceeds the costumer experience. Not many places have a hot coffee, or a cold brewski awaiting you. Sit back, enjoy the cut, Paul and the crew got you!

I’ve been to many other places and this has been my go to place for about a year due to their personalized services. They also have veteran and senior discounts for those that qualify! Cuts by The Bay is my go-to barbershop. I get excellent service every time, at a great price. Paul and Anna keep the shop incredibly clean and have procedures in place that make me feel comfortable and safe in their shop while we navigate through the COVID-19 crisis. 10/10, would recommend!

The gentleman doing the trimmings was very nice. He really treats you well. My husband is very impatient and even he said he liked the guy. He even liked the service he got. He didn't just cut my husbands hair he also trimmed his beard, cleaned up his mustache and eyebrows too. Best of all it was all done for $25 and a nice tip.

Exceptional straight up. I was having a hard time finding a barber who was willing to do masculine cuts on female hair and the owner blew it right out of the park, perfect. I’m so happy and I feel like myself even more. My hair was damaged from my own self bleach and the back of my head is dark cause I missed it lol. My hair was basically falling out and I could maintain it properly. Highly recommend even women willing to experiment here and even if it’s not a short cut, get an intricate detailed undercut. I have yet to get a design but next time I go in for an updated trim I will definitely get one. Super awesome inside as well.

By far, the best barber in Northern Michigan. I’ve paid a lot more money to get my hair cut by other barbers in major cities and they pale in comparison to the skills that Paul has. I recommend everyone goes and gets their hair cut by Paul!
