Grand Traverse Games (GT Games)

Love this store! Finally visited their new location. It's nice, decent selection of all game platforms. The original location definitely had a more vintage feel to it which was more nostalgic. They also had a little arcade game room which was cool. It's more retail now, but still a neat place to visit.

Fantastic store with even better staff. The manager (I think) is very helpful when it comes to beginners trying to pick up new games. He's helped my MTG group build decks and understand the precons they have on offer. I also appreciate their wide variety of video games, and they're great to work with when it comes to selling your own stuff. Just make sure to go there in the morning if you want cash!

Gave me a pretty fair price on my pokemon cards that I traded in and I also got 4 games for $13 very helpful and nice place to get games and collectibles from.

Update: This place got even better to be honest it has the same fair trade in price but it seems like every time I go here they're having some sort of sale the first time I came here there was I think a 10% sale (not too sure) but this time I was planning on buying 2 games and one of the workers told us it was a buy 2 get 1 free on games I think that's just amazing.

Also that PS5 Raffle is pretty cool wish I had the extra money to enter.

I really appreciate when I can talk to the people who work at these places because often times more than not the workers in card shops are odd and keep to themselves, at least in my experience most of the time.

These guys were abive and beyond friendly and chatted with us for a while. Their card prices are lower than average which is nice. They also ship, so if your not from the area, like me, then you'll love that option!

I would like to see more pokemon boxes or tins or single packs. That was a little lack luster. I still walked away with cool stuff and would definitely buy from them again.

Super cool space. I was scared of it being gatekeepy because I've experienced a lot of that in game stores but everyone here is so kind and open to sharing their interests. They have great stickers!!

I stopped in to look for some Warhammer kits but was happy to find a good selection of Flesh and Blood cards as well. The "open concept" layout for the shop works well for selling videogames and tabletop games in the same space.

As a retro gamer 🎮 and DOOM speed runner I totes appreciate the Grand Traverse Games for simply existing 🤗😍🥰 like if I ever want to take a stroll in the past and simply be around nostalgia for the sake of being around nostalgia there iz this portal to the past named GT Games 💁‍♀💖. Mii man and I are able to link cable battle Pokemon Silver and Crystal now bcuz of GT Games and we're forever grateful for that!! 💘💕. Oh and they do card related events to from Yu-Gi-Oh to Magic The Gathering and then some which iz super cool! 🤗

Being known as Mr. Retro, I can't help but be "biased" lol. But this is my favorite place in Traverse City for video games and consoles. Not only that but it is the only retro related place in all of Traverse City. Best part is they are all friendly and they don't try to take advantage of being the only retro place by making everything crazy expensive either. Reasonable, and I even got to have a great discussion over The Legend Of Dragoon and how it was considered to be the best PS1 game ever made and so on and so forth. Lots of people I can truly converse with about a topic I love. Retro consoles and games. That said, I got Pokemon Silver version and a Link Cable so I am now able to battle my gal in traditional battles through our Gameboy Advance SP's. I will always mention this place to any gamer that I know and especially to those who are retro people like me. You won't find a better atmosphere and environment for gaming or for what it's worth most places in general. It's like a secondary unofficial home in a sense. I just feel good and welcomed while in there.

They have video games ranging to Atari to the lastest consoles they have pretty much all thing video games. They also have Magic the Gathering cards and Warhammer products. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Haven't done any actual business (yet) with this company. However, i took a nintendo switch oled in last week to see if they would be interested in buying. Though we didn't make a deal (offer was a little low, but still relatively fair) their customer service was excellent. I was greeted right upon walking through the door and the staff at the back counter were professional and polite. They also have an amazing stock of games and other gaming memorabilia. I will definitely be back with a large wallet soon to explore all the stock and pick up a few things!

I love digimon cards and this place hasn't let me down yet. The store owner is very nice. I have been going to GT games for years and they will have my support for years to come.

Absolutely Love This Place. It Has Structured My 13 Year Old Nephew By Seeing Something He Wants and Allowing It To Be Cheap Enough For Him To Want To Earn The Money To Buy It For Himself. Thank You GT Games For Being The Best At Trades.. He Only Has 2 More Old School Systems To Find and He Will Have All Systems Made From The SNES/Atari To Xbox One/PS4! he Bought This With Birthday Money and All Together Was Less Than $200 #GreatDeal

I love this place! Locally this is the only spot to find retro games anymore. They have pricing comparable to places like ebay minus the extra shipping and risk of ordering online. I’ve never actually bought anything faulty from them and a lot of the things they sell are in very good condition!
As far as trade-ins- I’ve done several trade-ins with them over the years and they always give a decent price, even if it’s not “full resale value.” It’s a lot more work selling online and shipping the items out, which can get very costly.

I love finding new video game stores when on vacation and this is one of the best! Lots of glass case items to choose from along with many cheaper titles out on the floor. Found some games I have never seen in the area I live. Great selection of Switch games, much more variety than those big box stores. They had Amiibo Cards, which my wife was very happy to find. Highly recommend this store!
