This is a large independent bookstore with new and used books. They have amazing displays celebrating diversity. They also have a large event space to host authors.

Just went in for the first time last week and I was blown away by this hidden gem! The cafe serves actual food and there was a cozy fireplace. The book store portion is huge and has a lot more than just books. There were fair trade gifts, art, games, new books, and used books. My favourite part was a rack of staff pick used books! Everything is wonderfully curated and is much more interesting than the big box book store down the street.

My absolute favorite gem of both a book store and cafe.
The book store has both new and used books in a wide array of genres.
The cafe is very roomy, food is fresh and the drinks are delicious.
The staff is always warm and helpful.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a new book, tasty beverage or a cozy cafe to get some work done.
Bonus: the parking lot is large/spacious and free!

This place is a trap! If not for my friend who was ready to leave, I'd still be there. The store is huge and has so many titles, I didn't know which way to turn. And the staff was so friendly and helpful, I found everything I needed. I love books but I'm not a millionaire and couldn't buy the whole store! I did find some lovely books for my granddaughter and myself. I also noticed they had food, but I was too busy to check it out (next time). Thank heavens I live in Chicago and can't go every day. But I'll definitely be back.

Cute place to search for your next favorite book, and also a great place to look for little gifts! Love the café inside as well!

Love this store and the Cafe! There are so many events and groups that meet here that it resembles places of decades ago where they created a safe place to just gather. Amazing staff and book selections are an added benefit.

Had a magical first time at Schulers thanks to some help from Indigo!! I loved the energy of this store and had no idea how expansive the space is. Everyone was beyond friendly and welcoming, and the cafe inside was delicious! As a queer person (in case my books didn't give it away), I felt very safe and welcome in this store. Looking forward to returning soon!

Very spacious store with used and new books and a stage at the back. Plenty of places where to sit and enjoy a book including a couch by the fire place. The used books are very much de ent prices. The cafe is great with wide tables the artichoke sandwich was really good. Half is just fine for the amount unless you are very hungry 🙄the baklava and hibiscus tea were really good. You even have silverware with a fabric napkin a change from the paper ones.

This is the only bookstore I will go to in Grand Rapids. It has a great atmosphere and very friendly staff to help you find anything. They also have a Cafe and a children's section inside. Well worth checking out!

Schuler’s is the best bookstore I’ve been to in Michigan. They have so much merchandise. Books, Magazines, LEGOs, toys, used books, music, dungeons and dragons, board games, I could go on and on. I really love both locations, but the one in Grand Rapids is better. A larger variety of used books and bigger store.
There is a great cafe inside with quiche, other foods, drinks, etc. An ample amount of tables.
Many parking spots and plenty of handicap parking in front. Discounted books are outside as well as in the back. I could spend hours in here. So many books that I’ve never seen anywhere else, including Amazon! Excellent prices and the staff are amazing people. I can’t recommend this bookstore enough.

My favorite local bookstore. I love to wander the stacks just browsing, but its also convenient that their inventory is available online if you have a specific book need. Great service, great atmosphere, excellent selection of books and gifts.

I could spend all day here. Love the staff suggestions, it helps me look at books I'd never look at on my own. And all the staff are awesome. We love going to the children's storytimes too. They always have fun activities and awesome characters to meet.

Absolutely love Schuler! Was always my favorite when I lived in Grand Rapids. This year I ordered a gift card for someone that's still in the area and had it shipped to them; when it arrived it was hand addressed and the note I included with the gift was also hand written in the envelope. Personal touches like these are why I'll always shop local and plan to support Schuler for many years to come!

Loved coming into Schulers. Helpful and friendly staff. My wife and I were appreciative of the many staff recommendations that were with so many of the books. It really helped us find titles that made it excited to read.

Great bookstore! First time in I was looking for some Stephen King books, they had them all. Gives you a feeling of a large old library. Very inviting place, lots of enthusiasm! Will definitely be going back!

Very wide selection of books, manga, comics, local goods and knick knacks and a very good Cafe to top it all off!
Way better than Barnes and nobles. Best local bookstore in grand rapids!

Christopher was very helpful.
Plenty of things to purchase for all ages besides books.
Excellent cafe.
Outside parking crowded but, did get a spot.

Went to an author talk/book signing and it was awesome. They had a lot of copies of the book and a really nice built in area with a little stage and seating for the author talk. One of the most prepared/put together venues for this I've been to. Parking was easy in the lot outside. Checkout was really fast as well and having the Cafe area was nice. Could use more squishy reading chairs but that seems to be a thing at all bookstores these days
