Benihana Saginaw Michigan

One year ago, I went to Benihana on my birthday, shortly after they changed from Genjis. It was a very disappointing experience. However, I decided to give them another chance this year. I was very pleasantly surprised. The portion of the side of shrimp I ordered was larger this time and tasted better. The filet was good both times. I had complained that last year the vegetable consisted of sauteed onions and one very small, thin slice of zucchini. They give you much more zucchini now. The yum yum sauce was thicker and better this year. Last year it was runny. The rice was a bit different than last year, but it tasted better this time. Last year, I didn't get my $30 off birthday discount. This year, I had no problems. Everything tasted very good except the carrot ginger dressing. It used to be very good. Now it has a bite to it, kind of bitter. Overall, a huge improvement over last year.

This was our first time at Benihana’s in Saginaw. It was a slow night and we arrived around 4:45pm for an early dinner and we were treated like royalty. Wow! What a wonderful staff! The hostess was pleasant. Our server was pleasant. The manager was pleasant. And the lady that made our sushi was pleasant. This day and age, that is not always the case at restaurants. They made our night very special. Oh yeah, the food was good too! We had chicken hibachi and sushi. We highly recommend the Sumo Roll! Bon appetite.

This was our first time here, we were able to walk in and were quickly seated at a grill with one other couple. Our server was very prompt and friendly, he made sure everyone was taken care of, considering he was the only server besides the manager and cooks. For an appetizer, we had the pork goyza, which were steamed with a tasty sauce. The salad and soup were well portioned. One person in our party doesn't eat onions, the chef was very accommodating of this and made separate piles. The steak hibachi was cooked perfectly as well as my spicy chicken hibachi. Overall, it was a tasty meal with plenty of leftovers.

I was nervous to go based on these reviews. We took my daughter and her friend for her birthday. The food was plentiful and delicious. The chef was at our table cooking for minimally and hour. The matcha tea was outstanding: all in all only praises on the dinner and atmosphere we encountered!

Went for the first time last weekend for sweetest day and it was amazing. I am used to hibachi restaurants in the Detroit area and this is my favorite out of all of them. The prices are very good. I had a fillet mignon and a vegetarian dinner (hibachi style of course) and it was $56 for two 5 course meals. The yum yum sauce was delicious. They also have seating areas if you do not want the hibachi experience. We left with enough leftovers for lunch the next day as well. We have been back already and will become regulars as the food is great and the quality and quantity is great and the price is way less than any other hibachi restaurant I’ve been to. Specials this week as of 10-26-2023 is steak and chicken hibachi $19.99. You can’t go wrong for that. Also, a rewards program with a birthday discount and kid’s discount. Amazing place. A must go.

Wait staff, cook and manager were all ready to help. Looks like they finally got corporate to understand SAGINAW expects excellent food at reasonable prices. The food was great. Place was clean.

The chef and chef's performance was really good. The chef cooked in front of us, and we could talk with the chef. Also, all foods were great overall.

Visited last night and had a great experience! Wasn’t busy so we were seated right away at our own grill. Ahriana was our server and she was wonderful. Very personable, attentive, got our drinks and sushi appetizers quickly. Came back often enough to see that we were ok but not too often to be overbearing. Just right!
Our chef was Ray. He did a great job entertaining us while preparing a wonderful dinner. We had the specials with chicken and shrimp, and steak and chicken. Everything was delicious, done to perfection. And portions were far larger than we could manage. The nicest part is anything the chef cooks but doesn’t get served can go home with your server! No food goes to waste. It’s so upsetting to watch how much food goes to waste so this is a very nice change. Kudos to the owners for this innovative approach. We highly recommend Benihana Saginaw and would definitely go again!

EVERY bite of food was absolutely delicious and the waiter was superb. We forgot his name but he had star tattoos behind his left ear. Excellent meal🤌🏽

Love it, they recently made a bunch of improvements and it sure shows! Will be coming back, perfect for birthdays especially. They are running a deal right now for $20 dinner! Get shrimp, steak, chicken so cheap! $2 draft beer as well :)

First timers. A fun place. The food was good. Our Chef was fun. The waitstaff was awesome. Price was good for 5 course meal.

The food is amazing, especially when you are out with friends and able to enjoy your food. The cooks are entertaining and the servers are on point. This was my second time going, and I can't wait for the next dinner there. The Emperor's Feast (Filet and Chicken) is a 6 course meal, and you get a lot for your money. Definitely recommend for a nice date.

Aubrey and Ray was awesome!!!! The food was fantastic and the show was very entertaining. Aubrey was delightful. Ask for them, you won't be disappointed!!!

The sushi is amazing. Wasn't too hectic while I was there, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I ate at the bar where it was a nice atmosphere and easily the best price for draft beers!
Georgina, the bartender, was very attentive and made the stay very enjoyable with her friendly attitude.

The steak was outstanding. Reservations were about 10 minutes late. Otherwise great time.

Food was tasty and portions were a little small (no leftovers). Our chef seemed a little unorganized at first but was still very entertaining. Our server Alex N. was fun, energetic and made us feel welcome. We love our photos and our souvenir mug. We’ll be back for our next birthday dinner.

Unclear as why people are giving such bad reviews! The food was good and service was friendly and attentive. If your looking for fast food then this isn't for you. It is made to order so it takes a bit longer. The sushi was incredible and the onion soup was excellent. The only reason our bill was high is because of the saki cocktails, which were Totally worth the money. I do recommend the seafood dishes instead of the beef, as the beef was alittle chewy.
