The Timbers Restaurant

Stopped here after a long day of Jeeping. For our first time we were impressed. 8 of us sat at the bar and had great service. We got two different apps. Mushrooms—> you get a ton!! They were large and lightly battered. We also got the cheese and onion rings. Didn’t care too much for the cheese wedges, but the onion rings were crispy and flavorful.

Couple of us were lucky enough to get the brisket special. Came with pork belly slaw and fries. The amount was surprisingly large. For a big guy it was more than I could finish.

Other friends got burgers and they seemed to love the size and flavor.

Little man enjoyed his kids meal of grilled shrimp and fries.

Overall this will be a delicious destination for our next trip.

Our party of 6 had great dinners. My husband and 2 others had the walleye dinner. They all said it was wonderful. Our wait person, Darlene was awesome. She was so nice, very knowledgeable about the menu and on top of it all. Drinks arrived quickly as well as our dinners. Definitely will return.

Date night with the wife. We enjoy trying new places and since we're fairly new to the area moving up from down state every place is new to us. So I asked Google where there was a steak near us. And she steered us in the right direction. Where do I begin? The friendly greeter. The prompt welcome from our very personable server or the absolutely AMAZING dinner we were served. She told us the specials and gave us a moment to glance over the menu. We decided the specials sounded pretty good so that's what we chose. My wife chose the blackened salmon on Cajun Alfredo pasta and I went with the flat iron steak smothered in a mushroom duxelle with veggies and loaded baker. I've been a Chef for 40 years and can be somewhat critical just ask my wife. But we couldn't have been more pleased. You (I) can tell when not only there is experience but the true love in the preparation of a dish and these Chefs put both of these ingredients into our meals. You've earned earned our patronage and we can't wait to try the calamari which they were out of but that's ok, as well as everything else on the menu. It gives us just one more reason for date night and make, The timbers our first choice for dinner. Oh and buy the make sure you bring an appetite the portions were HUGE and well with the money which isn't easy to say in today's market place. Thank you guys and keep up the great work. Best meal we've had in a long time! We stopped for dinner on our way home down state. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! Our waitress was super friendly and very knowledgeable about all the specials and items on the menu. My husband had the pork belly special and I got the chainsaw chicken sandwich! Both meals we're fabulous! We will definitely stop again the next time we are in the area!

Very nice restaurant and bar. Very old world with a Northern Michigan flavor. I had the chicken parmesan over pasta. Was very delicious and tender. There is a Cadillac of steaks that i want to try next. My dinner was under $20. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Lots of old antiques adorn the walls. And the ceiling was painted black with these silver shining spots that gave a very unique night sky feel. Placed just outside of town and near a hotel and campgrounds and the lakes Mitchell and Cadillac.

Timbers has been around since the early 90s and is as good as ever. We came for dinner and ordered the calamari to start which was delicious. We had the chicken parmesan and mushroom pasta for entrees. Our server was very professional and friendly.

We will definitely be back again soon!

First time here. We wanted to try a restaurant we had not been to in Cadillac. Great service from Heather the bartender. We had the coconut shrimp app that was very good. Margherita pizza was excellent. The atmosphere is really cool. Highly recommend. We will be back. Thanks!

We stopped here for drinks and appetizers as we waited for our vacation rental to be ready. It was absolutely fantastic. The mushrooms were hot and crispy and perfect. The potato skins were also great. Every dish we saw and could smell looked amazing. We had plans to come back for prime rib later in the week but I got sick, so we never made it. It is definitely on my list for next time.

THIS IS THE BEST I HAVE HAD IN ALL THE RESTAURANTS I have EVER eaten in, in the NORTH! Fantastic Job gentlemen & ladies! I LOVE COMING HERE! It has NEVER disappointed me in the last year I have lived here! THANK YOU! Chicago born & raised.

Wonderful service. Really good food. We ordered the battered mushrooms, calamari, coconut shrimp, surf and turf, and whitefish. Yum

Very cute spot within Cadillac area. Looked busy but they had so much seating available. We were sat right away, ordered quickly, and our food came out in like 10 mins easily. Such quick and delicious food. Friendly staff. Lots of good options. Felt homemade and original.

Great service and delicious food. It's definitely worth the trip. They have a variety of great steaks and several seafood options.

This a wonderful place with excellent service, heck the waiter even brought over two 3oz samples of local brews to try prior to ordering. Now I have a weakness for blackened prime rib which usually does not serve until 4:30, but since we were early he talked to the chef and they were more than happy to accommodate! Absolutely Wonderful! Prices are reasonable and really enjoyed celebrating my wife’s birthday a day early, highly recommend!!!

I am ashamed to say that I have passed by this little gem at least 100 times when I travel, and I’ve never given them a chance. This place is awesome!!! It’s rustic, quaint, up-north-y, and just what you’d picture a locally owned rural restaurant to deliver. DO NOT pass this place!!! The staff was so kind to us, the food was delicious (pizza and comfort foods, mostly). I was absolutely thrilled and surprised at how much I enjoyed this little rustic hideout. They also promote and carry several local breweries. Great dessert menu also.

We tried to go here a few weeks back, but didn’t realize it was homecoming and it was an hour wait for a table.
We came back this week, and were very happy with the experience.
We were seated right away. Our server was a friendly & energetic.
Once we ordered, our food came out with beautiful presentation.
We eat out a lot and I can say that the plate was probably one of the best looking dishes that I’ve seen in a long g time!
The restaurant was busy, but you didn’t notice it in quality of waitstaff or food. We didn’t walk away disappointed or hungry!

Great food, lovely atmosphere, and good service. I had the mushroom and Swiss burger with bacon added. It was cooked to perfection. With their delicious cole slaw on the side it was a meal that was very enjoyable. My husband got the bourbon salmon and it was well cooked and delicious. Service was quick with appetizers coming out within minutes of placing our order for them. I highly recommend this restaurant after a great day exploring the dunes.

I HIGHLY recommend visiting this restaurant! Besides the food being absolutely delicious the staff was OUTSTANDING! Ashley, our server, was on it! She payed attention to the food allergies. Made recommendations. While we ate and finished a dish the staff was on it and removed the finished dishes. I've only ever experienced this quality of service in Mexico City at a high end restaurant. The Timbers staff dederves a KUDOS! The next time we're in Cadillac, we will make a call.

We had family in town for the holidays and decided to try this restaurant out. We were not disappointed! The food was amazing! The staff were kind, knowledgeable and prompt. It was a bit loud but overall I highly recommend!

Excellent service. Great food. Prices were good especially for the huge portions. Went above and beyond for the small children we had. Did very well at keeping our table clean. We seen our waitress many times to make sure we had all we needed. Loved our experience. It was a 10 out of 1-5!

We were glad we stopped and gave Timbers a shot. We had heard of Timbers for some reason, so we thought let's try it. Boy were we glad we did. The outside does not scream "great place" but the staff and food will outshine any hesitation you have on the outside decor. The inside was rustic and to go with the name, lumber oriented. The place was not that busy when we stopped, thus we had zero wait. We were seated at a high top for four. The place has high tops, regular tables and booths for your normal dining experience. They also have a full bar as well. The only downside in my opinion were the bathrooms.

The staff, especially our waitress was extremely nice and helpful with our food choices. Her recommendations were all a hit with us and we appreciated her willing to tell us which items were good, beyond "everything" is good comment.

We shared the "Water's Edge Platter", which was a wonderful assortment of things to include grilled shrimp, deep fried shrimp, baked white fish covered in seasoning and Alfredo, fettuccine Alfredo and the vegetable of the day, which was asparagus. The dish is $25 but we split it based on our waitress's recommendation. Each plate came out with basically the exact same thing and we were most pleased we split it as it was more than enough to split. The white fish was seasoned really good and the alfredo sauce made the flavors so creamy. The grilled shrimp were done to perfection and the seasoning was just strong enough but not too much to overpower any of the shrimp taste. The deep fried shrimp was very tasty, especially with the shrimp sauce. The fettuccine Alfredo was extremely good and the Alfredo was some of the best we have had. Our waitress said the food is all prepared by culinary chefs and it's easily believable. The asparagus was a bit mushy but very tasty and complimented the plate well. The hard roll was a bit too hard for my taste but I ate it without too much complaint.

Ok, now for the dessert! The caramel brownie cheesecake is a definite must even if you're full. The first bit was an absolute bite of heaven. Each additional bite made your eyes roll back and made you thankful you ordered it. Highly recommended. Thanks to our waitress. Definitely worth the $7!

We went by Timbers on our way home and it was busier than during out visit, which was not a big surprise. If you're in the area, it's worth a stop.
